Mourelatos Lakeshore Resort is FANTASTIC! It's family owned and operated and it's obvious how much love has gone into creating your stay there. The MLR staff is always smiling and helpful. The resort is clean and safe. The best part is Alex Mourelatos, who brings everything together like a bow on top of a present, he finishes the experiences with his warm presence, making sure all of his guests are taken care of. Totally smitten with this charming place! Stunning right-on-the-lake location with a sandy beach complete with all sorts of water toys for little and big kids. Rooms are generous yet cozy with lovely outdoor spaces and grills, convenient kitchenettes. Loads of great restaurants, shops, and outdoor activities nearby. Alex and his family are consummate hosts. September was an excellent month to visit. Reduced crowds, crisp nights (oh, the hot tubs! ), and brilliant blue bird days. I will definitely return.

This is a perfect place for families! Lovely private beach with chairs and umbrellas. Even towels My teen girls are having a blast! So many different lake toys ‍♀️‍♀️ come with the stay at Mourelatos. Movies on the beach, grills provided for guests and on and on. Employees are impeccable.

Wonderful time bringing our new grand baby to the place his mommy and daddy got married. This place is magical!

Came to visit my friends family here. Rooms were updated and spacious, property was cute, clean and in a spectacular location. Owners were super accommodating.

5/5 for sure! From my initial phone call booking the room (they will price match from other sites) until checkout, everything was seamless. The employees are friendly and truly want you to have the best experience possible (thanks Bobby! ). The rooms are big and a lot of them have great views of the lake. It was priceless to be able to wake up and walk down a few steps to the private beach and take in the beautiful views. We will definitely be back.

Had easy access to the lake, with affordable price. Room was nice and clean. No complaints. This will be our spot all the time when visiting North Tahoe.

I stay here every time I come to Lake Tahoe. It has a private beach where you can use their equipment (Paddle Boards, Kayaks, etc. ). Very nice place and in a good area.

What a wonderful place to vacation while up in N. Lake Tahoe. It has a very nice, private beach, with already set up lounge chairs, umbrellas, BBQs, a box full of kids play sand toys, fire pits, ping pong table, Cornhole AND water toys like water bikes, stand up paddle boards, canoes AND a water trampoline! Wow! Ohh did I say these are all included with your stay? Which they are. So my family had a great time as I did not having to worry about lugging all of those things to and from the beach everyday. Our room was wonderful with nice furniture and set up. They are clean and we'll maintained. Service was also perfect as well. Our remote control on the TV was missing, and they brought out a new one immediately. So overall a wonderful place to stay while in Lake Tahoe. My only recommendation is make reservations early as this place does fill up! Enjoy.

Mourelatos Lakeshore Resort is the best! It's a great place to relax and be next to the lake! All water activities like kayaking, stand up paddling, hydro biking, etc are there for you to enjoy! You simply don't need to leave the premise to have a great time!

Gave it a one because negative one isn't possible. We traveled more that 2 thousand miles to stay here only to get stuck with the only room blocked by construction and of course the lovely garbage can. We have spent over ten thousand dollars to get the whole family here and they WON'T PUT US IN A DECENT ROOM! ABSOLUTELY DISCUSTED… NEVER STAY HERE!

Love the private beach. Use of the canoes, paddle boards and water bike all included. Activities such as wine tasting in the evenings. Staff was awesome. Very nice and helpful. Rooms are big and have their own sitting area in front. Downside was the sofa bed. Very uncomfortable. My son could not sleep on it. Floors are squeaky in places. It needs a bit updating but it’s being worked on. We’ve been there twice and will go again.

We went to their ice cream shop (it's across the street from the main hotel). The ice cream is delicious and we've always had pleasant service. We come here every time we're in Tahoe, and have always enjoyed the outing.

Be aware that sound insulation between the rooms is basically non existent. We could understand every word of the Transformers movie our next door neighbours were watching. (We stayed in room 123 on the second floor. )

I never knew what it was like to actually be treated as a guest until my husband and I stayed here. This place has forever changed how I view other resorts and they have set the bar high. All of the staff is friendly and will actually smile and say hello to you. They will do anything they can to make your stay enjoyable from getting out th kayaks to helping start a fire late at night. The owner is so genuine and you can tell has a heart for the community and hospitality. Jasmyn and Preston were five star employees. The resort location is perfect and beautiful, close to kings beach which has lots of shops and dining. I prefer the north side to the south side. The amenities were phenomenal and our room was very clean. Sheets and towels all smell clean! I can't rave about this place enough. I will recommend to anyone and everyone that stays in Tahoe. I will say it didn't bother us but some reviews are correct that the walls are thin and you can hear road traffic but this can't even touch the five star rating we are giving this place! Love it!

Very pleased with my stay here. Very homelike family owned place while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism. Fabulous view from the room. Clean comfortable beds. Loved the kitchenette with real dishes, sink, fridge, microwave and little counter. Sitting by the window for my morning coffee watching the lake was bliss. The bathtub was comfortable for a hot soak. A friendly, at home feeling in the room and from the staff. The perfect blend of nicer hotel and family-like hospitality. I'm traveling for business and wanted a relaxing place to stay for the weekend. After a stressful experience when my original hotel here in town didn't work out I was "homeless" tired hungry and just walked in here hoping to find a last minute place for the weekend. I knew my hotel stress was over when warmly welcomed here and saw the choice of two beautiful rooms at the rate I needed for my government per diem. The staff went above board also to make suggestions of places to eat and things to do in the area. I used the business center and there are board games and videos to borrow. A very pleasant relaxing place to stay. Highly reccommend.

The resort location was nice but the rooms are run down. The bathroom was old and didn't smell clean. The room was large and comfortable. The staff was very nice.

I can't think of any reason why we'd stay anywhere else in North Tahoe. The rooms are terrific, spectacular views of the lake from every single room. Microwave and refrigerator were an unexpected surprise. Oh the fireplace is an amazing touch. The upper level has high ceilings.

Everything was awesome, despite the weather conditions Morelatos Resort made sure to properly accomodate it's guests and even Alex Mourelatos himself made sure everything was great. Definitely would recommend plus the hot tubs are amazing!

Nice place. Beautiful view! Just wish customer service wasn't so difficult over the phone. I gave them a 4 star rating only because the reservation policy needs to be revised. Roads close often due to winter weather. Please take this into consideration if you ever decide to revise your refund policy. Aside from the minor setback, thanks again for the relaxing winter weekend!

Multiple night stay… never again. Unless. You bring earplugs, eye mask, own light bulb and cleaning service. Whats the krux of it all? It's incredibly NOISY. You hear every sound from the top floor, every person that walks by your room and even in your own room the floors squeek like something I would expect in the 1880s. The kitchen is embarrassing, don't pay the extra and don't expect the Wi-Fi to work consistently. For the money Mourelatos isn't worth it. My two stars are for the lake. It's beautiful.

Great rooms, and clean! Wonderful and friendly service! Breakfast is nothing special (yogurt, cereal, bagels)

Room was very clean and cozy. Location is also good. Close to some good restaurants. The owner and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Complementary access to Snowshoes, DVDs and boardgames. Only negative thing I can think of is that breakfast was not the best.

Good prices, clean rooms, friendly staff, and everyone gets a nice view. Has an old cozy home-like feel. I enjoyed my stay.

Nice and Cozy resort with private Beach access. They have rental for kayaking and paddle board. Staffs are really nice.

Great place. Stunning view on the lake with own beach. Very popular place and usually busy. Friendly and helpful staff. Small kitchen with sink, microwave and refrigerator available in all rooms. Gas heating very powerful and quick. You can hear noise from the rooms upstairs, especially when smb take shower. Overall highly recommend for vacation. We have a great time there.

Nice location that is right on the water. Clean larger rooms. Our room has a full kitchen which was nice. I look forward to going back.

UNBELIEVABLE, staff is friendly, attentive to your needs & wants. The View is tremendous right on the beach with plenty to do & eat right here. The rooms are large, clean & all have view. They provide plenty of chairs and accommodation on the beach.

Great spot on the lake and very friendly people running the place. Came here for a wedding that took place on the shore front and everyone enjoyed their stay. Hey have coffee in the morning and a bunch of water activities like paddle boarding and kayaking. Rooms were great too and all of them had a great view.

We were informed that there would be a wedding party during our stay and that the music would be over by 10:00pm. We were planning on checking out at 4am to go to the Hot Air Balloon Festival at dawn the next day. We had an 80 year old and a child with us (to see the balloons). At 11:00pm the wedding guests were still going strong, lots of yelling and loud talking outside the rooms which all face the hot-tub where many guests were partying. We couldn't close the windows because there was no air-conditioning. At midnight I went to the front desk, but they actually close and there are no staff anywhere. I tried to call to ask if someone could quiet the partying guests but the reference book in the room said to press zero on the room phone, however there was no phone in the room. I tried to call the hotel directly but the choices were to call the guest room number to speak to the registered guests (hard when there is no phone in the room). No way to actually speak to anyone. I asked the drunk guests if they could tone it down. That went over well. It was finally quiet about 1:00am. Because we couldn't get our child or elderly relative to sleep due to the noise, we didn't go to the festival. Definitely not worth the price.

Fantastic private beach! Great views! Holiday weekends can be noisy with party atmosphere but it quieted down nicely after Labor day Monday. Rooms are nice enough but Beds are too soft and insulation in walls is thin but being able to sit on the beach and watch the beautiful lake makes it all worthwhile.

Great little resort hotel right on a private beach on the lake. Tons of beach toys, games, chairs with umbrellas, fire pits and bbqs. Kayaks, water bikes and paddle boards are available and included with your daily resort fee. If you get tired of the water, there's a great park near by with all sorts of activities and a ropes course. Our room has a full kitchen, a little small, but great for making meals, unfortunately no dish washer. Bathroom is a little dated and the hot tubs are a little close to the street. These was always a staff person no matter where we were on the property and they were always friendly and helpful. Our family had a great time and will definitely come back!

It has a magnificent view of the lake and the mountains. The rooms are very comfortable. It's got Wi-Fi.

Cozy and well located. For winter time, it's close to Northsar and Squaw Valley. For summer, it's right by the sand. They also offer complimentary breakfast and let you borrow bbq grills, stretchers, boards etc.

Staff is helpful and nice. Clean room, great view. Most summer stuff was put away for the season but they still pulled out the sand toys for our kids. Nice private beach!

Really lovely little place right on a beautiful white sand beach (which is private for the resort). The room we stayed in was huge and had a full kitchen which was awesome. It was quite and nice and they were flexible with check out time. There is no dining on the premises so you will have to walk or drive to a restaurant or store near by. We would absolutely stay here again.

We had a lakefront room. It was fully stocked and clean. Great views wonderful beach. Parking is a little slim, so look out for any big events in the area. You really can't go wrong with a place like this in Tahoe.

A wonderful place to spend time at Lake Tahoe.

Incredible location, outstanding staff, great amenities, such as fire pits (gas), tons of beach toys, including SUP boards, kayaks, and more! There is a BBQ — the staff noticed us trying to start it and were there instantly to help. There is ping-pong set up in the sand, beach volleyball, and one night we were there, someone set up an outdoor movie screen for the kids. The rooms are clean, the beds were comfortable, although it is a bit dated and due for some updating here and there. The rooms with a wet bar have teeny-tiny coffee cups, but there is coffee in the lobby if that drop doesn't wake you up, and great cafe's and restaurants within walking distance. The rooms with full kitchens that are better equipped, with a larger coffee maker and bigger cups, as well as a full size fridge and table and chairs. What a fun place to host a family gathering. There are a couple of spas but no pool — go jump in the lake!

Always treat us well! We always have a lot of fun here. The little cabins are always clean and neat. They have paddle boards and kayaks we can use on the lake which is always really convenient. All in all, they're great and we don't go anywhere else!

The location was beautiful. Goregeous, plenty of in room amenities (it felt like we had our own little home away from home), perfect location, delicious breakfast, amazing customer service. What I really enjoyed was the staff. I'm an insane critic of customer service. If there is a bad attitude present, I will never take my business there again. Even if it was free, I would still decline. Don't worry, this place was the opposite. My husband and I loved their genuinely kind and caring assistance. They worked hard to make our stay as best as possible. I love how the staff here aren't just local, but locals extremely involved in the community. The owner is so down to Earth. I saw him during the continental breakfast laughing at a table with the other guests. This place feels like a home away from home. It was awesome to support this family business versus a chain. You can tell that they take pride in their business. We were so happy with our stay. As long as there is a room vacant when we are up in Tahoe, this is our go-to place. Don't pass this one up.

Had a wonderful time! Views were great! Tons of amenities that were always available! (kayaks, beach chairs, jet skis, ice machines, and ICE CREAM! ) Family who owns the place were very nice and inviting from the time we entered the property to the time we checked out. Conveniently located to everywhere we needed/wanted to be! However, ONE COMPLAINT, but more of a guest complaint. The fact that it is a two story property means you can hear people walking above you. At times it sounded as if they were jumping up and down. Finally, I had to jump on the bed and start banging the ceiling. The guest came down and told me he was "chopping onions" and that he also told his kids to stop running up and down the balcony. This only happened ONE of the six nights we were there. Overall, we would go back any time.

Although the lake view was beautiful, the view out the sliding door was less inviting, toilet brushes and brooms. The staff continually used our back landing to store disgustingly dirty cleaning products. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable with bars sticking into my ribs. When I informed the woman at the front desk of these complaints, she said she was aware that the sofa bed was missing legs. When I asked her why she would rent out a sub-standard room at full price, she stated that it was my fault for booking at the last minute.
