When booking my accomodation I didn’t even browse, I stayed here just by recommendation from friends and I do not regret it. From the moment I walked in the hospitality of the workers was fantastic and it continued to impress me on a daily basis. I had no plans when I first arrived and really found the activities and tours I did with Steven to be informative and enjoyable. The margarita and karaoke night with Lydia will be a night I will always remember, she really went above and beyond to make sure we had the best evening possible. I also have to commend Hannah and Andy on how friendly they were to me and everyone else. Without them I could have had some lonely times and they really made me feel like I had a real friend on holidays. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in la. It’s less than a 1 minute walk to the Hollywood walk of fame and they are on top of the cleanliness and general moral of the establishment. Absolutely amazing hostel with a range of fun and talented workers from all over the world. I can’t wait to come back and stay.

We stayed for one night and it was a perfect location for our adventure to Hollywood Palladium. We strolled the streets and found lots of coffee and food nearby. The front patio was perfect for our early morning sessions and planning the day. The staff was awesome and the hostel seems to run like a well oiled machine. Beds were good.

I loved this place! Great for solo travelers! I have booked my return trip! :D.

Harassed and berated by one of the staff members at 3am in front of a room full of guests who were woken up by the exchange. Never been treated so disrespectfully in ten + years of staying in hostels.

This was one of the nicest hostels I’ve ever been to! Super clean and our bathroom in the 6 bed dorm was especially nice. Helpful staff and breakfast was great (pancakes! ) plus we took advantage of their free sandwich night for dinner which was awesome. Didn’t do any of their tours but a ton of people signed up for them.

This place is AMAZING! First off, it was clean and the shared bathroom was lovely and updated. I was there from a Monday to Wednesday and had no problems sleeping. All the staff are really friendly and it's a great vibe. Staff and visitors we're easy to befriend and hang out with and explore the city. Exactly the LA experience I was looking for!

Great hostel with an awesome atmosphere, this is largely due to the great patio area and the fantastic activities like the canyon hike with Steven and the Downtown tour with Allen (massive thanks guys! ) and the margaritas and karaoke night. The beds all had a light and outlets and the mattresses were pretty comfy. This is one of the best hostels I've stayed at, you will never be without something to do and someone to talk to!

Had the most awesome experience! Met some cool people and made some life long friends! Very clean and staff is friendly As an American traveling alone I recommend a hostel. International travelers are so nice and you get to hang out with all walks of life and cultures! I will be back! Hollywood downside is the freaks on the street… stay for two days then go to Venice hostel for the beach.

I stayed there for two nights and they organized a pub crawl on the second night. My friends invited me to join them but the hostel staff, Steve, didn’t let me join the group because I didn’t have a pair of pants (I was on a budget travel so I needed to keep everything in a backpack to avoid carry on bag fee on flights, so I had only packed shorts). He told me that was their rule so I decided to walk to the bar with my friends anyway but as an individual rather than a member of the hostel group, and I’d buy drinks myself there, because I believe many bars don’t really care if you wear shorts or not and I wanted to see if they’d let me in. But Steve tried to convince the guards at the entrance of the bar that I wasn’t properly dressed and I was to cause trouble there. He also reprimanded me as being VERY DISRESPECTFUL because I didn’t listen to him and stayed in the hostel. I don’t know hostel staffs have authority over what I am allowed to do during my stay! And I am really disappointed that their unprofessional staffs would humiliate guests like that. I’ll NEVER go to this hostel again!

This is the best hostel in Los Angeles. Probably it's a bit Pricey than other hostels in the area but IT IS COMPLETELY WORTH IT. If you are planning to meet nice people, staying in a safe and clean environment with great amenities this is the place. Do not save with other hostels because here you will pay a bit extra but it's going to be worth it. Great place and helpful stuff. PS: they have very fun activities every day.

The picture does it no justice. It looks way better in person. I'm really enjoying my stay here. Friendly people. Super neat and clean. Modern showers. Quiet rooms with a beautiful patio to go out to if you want to socialize.

The rooms were clean. Bunks had decent privacy and a good mattress. Lower bunk doesn't have much head room and is cramped for most people. They give you linens and towels to make your own bed. Breakfast was oranges, bananas, bread and make your own pancakes. Location can get loud but they have free ear plugs. One of the nights people were partying right outside the window. It's Hollywood so the streets smell kinda nasty nearby.

Helpful staff & clean rooms! There's laundry on site which was great for me. Fortunately when I was there people were social so I enjoyed my time there. Also very close to many bars & Hollywood boulevard. I stayed for 2 nights & can recommend!

Awesome place! had a hell of a good time here. Always love the hostel scene. Cool staff here. People were super cool. The outdoor patio had a vibrant scene at night time. ✌

Super convenient location wise. It's 2 minutes away from Hollywood Boulevard, and a nice starting point to hike to the Hollywood Sign or the Observatory. Rooms are super clean. Not very soundproof but good. Staff is nice, activities are good. The last star is for breakfast … 2 days in a row I cam in and there was no bread left, like none, and so for 10 minutes after which I left … it was 9am … and the kitchen gets a bit dirty.

& I am a human citizen of this beautiful planet. Many of you would see me as an American citizen. I am here to tell you about my personal experience of this establishment that you call “USA hostels Hollywood”. I checked in around 4 PM on February 25, 2018. I was humbly greeted by one of your volunteers. His name is Andrew. He disclosed to me the simple decline of admitting American national citizens to this particular establishment. I simply asked him “what does it make it any difference if I was partially raised in America and in Mexico”. He then kindly admitted me for one paid night into this hostel. When I checked into my room 117 on the first level, I was greeted by this lovely fellow who is Italian, therefore I call him my human brother Gia. I was also humbly greeted by other wonderful people of this planet we call our home. Just to name a few, Ebony, Arnold, Jessie, Kim, Kota, Alexander, Alejandro, friends from Brazil, friends from Germany, Friends from Argentina, Friends from Peru, Friends from the UK, friends from Ireland and Scotland, friends from other parts of Mexico, friends from down under, and last but not least friends from the Pacific rim and Asia.

Impeccable attention, clean, well located.

The place is cute and nice. Meets expectations. The staff was very friendly. The administration is a disaster, forbid washing clothes after 10 PM "because the washing machine makes a lot of noise and people complain" but the same people and the management make a lot of noise past 11 PM (quiet time according to the rules of the place). The kitchen is a power by which to do even a fried egg can take more than 7 minutes. Note: you charge$5 more if you pay with a credit card and not warn you in advance, nor in the publications.

Very nice experience. They offer a fair amount of activities for their guests. Staff was very helpful.

This place was really great. 95% of the staff are super nice and helpful. Some staff members don’t seem to know what’s going on sometimes or are standoffish (maybe they were new or having a bad day? ), but there’s always someone on shift or nearby that knows what’s happening and can be of help. Lots of (usually free) planned activities, clean rooms, bathrooms and common spaces. I was there for nine nights and really enjoyed my stay—most everyone in my room was friendly and respectful and tried to be quiet if others were asleep. It does certainly get noisy in and around the hostel at times (it’s located in a busy area with a thriving nightlife which is part of the draw for a lot of people) but there are earplugs available for free at the front desk, and you’re usually so tired from your day it hardly matters anyway. They have nice big lockers to keep your electronics/whatever safe inside each room and each bed has a little shelf and light, including a plug (my USB plugs didn’t work but my wall plug did, so it worked out fine. ) They were also very accommodating with my service dog.

I would recommend this property to those who want to travel low-cost.

People are great, and the beds have double wall plugs. Lockers can be rented. Toilets are clean. Breakfast is included. The entrance is via a social garden which has great music playing through the whole day. Only seconds away from the Hollywood Boulevard, great place.

Lot of eye for details like a small shelf for stuff even at top bunk, AC plugs inside lockers, en-suite bathroom, nice patio. Excellent price/quality ratio. Slight con from the detergent that they used to clean the whole hostel that penetrated everywhere.

Rooms are nice and clean. Maids come every day to sweep and mop the floor and washrooms. Social Life is great, you end up meeting a bunch of people.

Best location in Hollywood! very centric and close to many attractions, restaurants/bars and night clubs. The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful, from the tour guides to the housekeeping crew. I Met great people from all over the world and yes! I will definitely come back to this place. The hostel is clean, safe and also loved the everyday activities. I just kept extending my stay and ended up staying 5 nights instead of 2. A trip to remember for ever! you rock! Thank you!

Clean rooms, fair price, surprisingly good breakfast. Events every night, also day tours available. Free beer and free ice cream during our stay. Bed comfortable, enough space. Two showers per eight people — fair enough. Friendly stuff. Walkable distance to Metro Station Hollywood/Vine. Enjoy your stay!

Good hostel with plenty to do. Staff were very helpful. This hostel is quite busy and very sociable. Which I loved. Only half the activities are free, so factor that in. Clean and well equipped.

This place is really nice. Good and polite staff. The rooms were clean and the toilet was fresh. We were happy with our stay at this hostel. Mostly young people here but we did not see that as a problem. At breakfast you make your own pancakes (I liked this idea) and this hostel is right in the middle of everything so you can easy get from point a to b in no time. They also do day trips to the Hollywood sign and much more. If you are ok with living with strangers in the same room, maybe even international new friends, don't hesitate. If there is something we would want to change: The beds made a lot of noise when you moved. If you have a hard time sleeping when there is a lot of noise (steet, cars, people talking/screaming), bring earplugs.

I loved my stay there… the terrasse is a nice place to meet with people. I got a great welcoming from the staff, the daily tours were nice. The rooms are clean and the hostel is well located! I recommend!

Clean. Great porch out front that allows drinks and smoking. A lot of shuttle options to get around town or to the beach. Kitchen with very basic breakfast daily. Walking distance to the Chinese and Dolby Theaters. About 30 mins no traffic — 70 mins with traffic to LAX. My only issues were the loud people outside in the public parking lot. But they do offer ear plugs at the desk. Also it would be nice if the shower and toilet were separate areas. But not much they can do about it now. Also cool is they are doing some renovations to make the place better. You've got laundry as well. You get sheets and a towel. Great stay. Would book again.

Part of the hostel is under construction. There are some closed areas (like the bar, where people could socialize). There are few bathrooms. The laundry is not working and the breakfast is not very good. The location is great though.

Very clean. Great staff. Lots of fun activities that they facilitate daily. Very reasonable prices. Small beds in a bunk set up, but what do you expect. A good opportunity to meet people from all over on holiday.

There's a parking lot right across the hostel, it's a bit expensive but you can get a discount if you stay several days, and it's very convinient.

Great place to stay. Very social hostel. Awesome location in the heart of Hollywood. Great common areas including a games room with a bar. Kitchen is well equipped. Pub crawls from here are great fun, and you will see some of the best nightlife. Day tours go to many interesting attractions all over LA.

Stayed there earlier this month. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and the overall environment of the hostel is nice. The hostel is in a great spot, within walking distance from the Dolby Theater, the Pantages Theater and the Walk of Fame (amongst several other attractions). The staff organizes about three different activities each day (some of them are free, for the other ones you have to pay a reasonable price) such as tours around the city, comedy night, karaoke night, bar tours, etc. ; so you can easily fill the idle hours in your schedule. These activities also, along with the common areas of the hostel (a patio, a lounge, and a kitchen/dining room), make it very easy to interact with the other guests, which is very helpful if you’re traveling alone. The place was always clean, and it has free breakfast. I recommend it 100%.

My stay/ Stays were absolutely incredible! Met some friends that I'll have for ever and the staff is truly one of a kind. I definitely recommend if you visiting Hollywood or the LA area.

Great staff, really! Fun atmosphere! Only 1 complaint/problem: NO AIR CONDITIONING! This is Hollywood, not the beach therefore they are far enough "inland" that summertime temps — just like when I was there in July this year — was in the low 90s and NO Air Conditioning?!?! Now, granted 92-94 degrees (as it was the 3 days I was there) isn't Hollywood's typical High Temperature (I KNOW; used to live in LA) but it DOES happen often enough that this was absolutely NOT one of those "freak, once in couple years, one week out of the year" days; it happens often enough that it's NOT unusual (105 degrees; that would be very unusual but 90s are NOT! ). Moreover, many — if not most — get pretty drunk at night and it is NO FUN waking up in the middle of the night soaked in your own sweat for sure! Now many hotels in San Francisco don't have AC but they're in NORTHERN Cali… BIG Difference! Remember, SoCal is adjacent to Mexico and Arizona (does ANYBODY consider those "cool summertime places' temperature-wise? " Northern California is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT; especially the "Bay Area" with an average High Temp of about 60-70 degrees so that makes sense; inland (Key Word Reviewers of my Comments; I'm NOT referring to the Beach Areas where the Pacific Trade Winds keep the temps MUCH lower. Again, I'm referring to I-N-L-A-N-D Cali! Ever heard of the city of "DESERT HOT Springs" (in Reverside County; note: "HOT" is ACTUALLY PART OF THE NAME OF THE CITY, Seriously!

Great hostel in a great location right in Hollywood. There are lots of little details that can make a big difference in convenience: — good Wi-Fi throughout — bunk beds in dorms have boards around the one end for extra privacy — power outlet next to each bed so you can have your phone nearby charging overnight — power outlet in the locker so you can charge your laptop and other valuables during the day.

Nice rooms. The beds have individual lights and outlets which was really handy. Theres space to lock up your belongings but it wont fit a whole suitcase. The bathrooms are nice and clean.

Me and my friend stayed at USA hostels during the week of 1/1/16 to 1/8/16 and were really impressed by their customer service. The staff is very attentive, and friendly. I stayed at other hostels before and didn't have a good experience. Not only was this hostel customer friendly, but they were very honest. I lost my Phone and licence during my stay on two separate occasions and one of their staff members returned my belongings to the lost and found at the front desk. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. Keep up the great work guys!

If you're looking for a life-time experience, go to this hostel. Located in the center of the Hollywood neighborhood, you will enjoy the nightlife with the multiple bars and clubs near it. The front porch is its best asset. The staff was incredible and you will enjoy every bit of it. The dorms were on point and clean.

Terrible Service. I called 4 times And by intention they Placed me on hold every time — way toooo long. There where two guys in the front desk. I decided to walk in and ask for reservations 5 days — took out my State ID — their response as quoted "We only accept international travelers". I was caught off guard because I had just arrived from San Diego USA hostels and they did Not mention that quote. I had to rent a motel for the night. I did a search during the night and apparently BOTH INTERNATIONAL AND U. S. CITIZENS are allowed. So, it means they intentionally refuse or mislead travelers from within the U. S. TO only accept foreign people. Break of rules with intention. I won't bother to call USA HOSTEL here again. I wouldn't mind hurting them both for lying.

The place is great for people who want to see Hollywood. It is clean, a little crowded but that is normal. You can meet people in the front yard where there are nice and cozy sitting areas. In the rooms you get a locker with a socket to charge your stuff and you also get one socket at your bunk bed. The bathroom wasn't the best, but it should do.

You get what you pay for. Free breakfast, great bunch of staff working there. Meet lots of awesome people. Ideally located in Hollywood.

Up until my final day at USA Hostels in Hollywood I had had a fantastic time. I had made many friends through out the week with different community events and tours they had put on. I was mingling and connecting with staff and was enjoying myself. I told staff that I was planning on staying on a day by day basis while looking for work and more solid accommodation and had done so for seven days. BBUUUTTTT… I had to leave early on the 7th morning to get to a meeting and not having time to chat with staff that day about my billing arrangements I headed off assuming that we would connect again on my return IN A MATTER OF HOURS or that they would just charge my account. Instead on my return I found HALF my stuff (not all but half! ) packed up and moved down to the reception area. Things had been shoved into my suitcase, shirts were crinkled and documents and books crushed. I asked staff why they had moved my things in such a way and they told me it was their "policy" (and that is pretty much the ONLY answer I got from then on to ANY question! ) to do so when people fail to pay. I asked why they hadn't moved ALL my stuff. They said they didn't know what was mine and what wasn't so just grabbed the things from the bed and moved that down.

Awesome place and decor. Nice and clean. They need more breakfast options though. Also if you are unfamiliar with foreigners you may be in for a suprise as id say 80+% were foreign tennants. Im not at all racist or foreign opposed, but it made the stay make me feel unfamiliar.

Location is great, basically in the middle of Hollywood. The staff are so lovely and helpful, and have a bunch of tours and other small events. Rooms are clean and beds are comfyy.

Excellent attention, clean rooms and attentive staff. Recommended. For a modest price can make visits to different tourist attractions also provide a guide of what sites you visit, how much it costs and how to get there.

Perfect location and friend stuff. They have a lot of activities in the hostel, like free bus to the beach, Beverly Hills tour Hollywood sign it's really nice. And also you can book tickets of Disneyland six flags magic and universal studios. Anyway it's a excellent choice for you to live here in Hollywood.

Rooms are perfect and location also. But staff was a little rough to us. Prices are also high, so it's no cheap deal — a hotel isn't much more expensive.

Five Stars for USA Hostels, Hello Mr David Reuter. This is Louise, I'm living back in England for now. Have you opened in Dublin? And how the hell are you and Lev? Hope you get in touch, miss you all very much.

One of the best hostels I have ever stayed in! The staff are organised and very friendly. The hostel organises all sorts of tours (eg Hollywood sign, Beverly Hills) and shuttles to the beach on particular days of the week. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and well kept, although they really should install some air conditioning units instead of using those ceiling fans. The location is perfect and safe. Breakfast is included, I enjoyed making pancakes with the hostel provided mixture and having general chit chat with some of the travelers. Which brings me on to the best thing, the people, I met some really great, sociable people at this hostel who were up to hang out and do fun stuff. Canadians, Aussies, Danes, Swedes, Americans, mostly in their early 20s, really good people. My verdict: 3rd best hostel I've stayed in, in terms of aesthetics, rooms and cleanliness. BEST hostel I've stayed in, in terms of crowd, services (eg laundry room, iron) and event organisation (eg tours, shuttles, six flags trips). I love this place and I would recommend it to any young person going to LA.

It's a good place to spend the night. Most of the time people is nice, and if something goes wrong the staff is helpful. Only problem is too many drunk guys. The place is clean overall and the location is great, there is a parking lot a cross the street. I absolutely recommend it if you just sleep there and go all day to visit L. A. The way we did.

The best hostel in all of the USA. I completed a 6 month road trip and stayed here 3 times, every single time I was greeted by helpful staff, shared a drink in the common court yard with other travelers and had a great time on the organised activities. The quality of the breakfast was 2nd to non for a hostel, the beds are what you would expect from a hostel, but the people it attracts are what gives this place the edge. So close to hollywood blvd and all the major attractions, I would recommend this hostel to anyone looking to make new friends, sleep in comfort and enjoy the city of Angels to the fullest.

I stayed at four hostels in the US and this was by FAR the best one. Great location, very helpful staff. All the stuff you need. It was also the only hostel where people really got together and talked and drank and partied, so the atmosphere was absolutely fantastic.
