This is a superb hotel, homeless folks around corner but that unfortunate situation is all over town. The service was very accommodating and friendly, nice smiles from staff. The room had been renovated entirety and is ultimately updated and modern. The bed was the best… extremely comfortably experience… would love to have one of these at home. There was a continental breakfast, that looked appearing but, I'm not a breakfast person, however my girlfriend enjoyed it especially the waffles. I would highly recommend the Avenue Hotel if you want a nice comfortable lodge…

Thier upgrades to the rooms are really nice. They've brought them into the modern category, with good style and still being utilitarian. Update, May 24 '18, I've stayed in several different rooms here, now, and they all are very nice.

The hotel is currently under renovation. The room was very nice and clean. The breakfast attendant whos name is Rosa, was friendly and helpful. She kept the breakfast area cleaned. The front desk person Eddie seemed timid but friendly. The entire lobby area was immaculate.

Clean, modern rooms with a metro station right next door. Probably the best value and cheapest room you will find in the Hollywod/LA area.

The worst hotel. It is so unsafe. Homeless people coming in and out of the lobby. Doors are not locked after hours. No security present. It was so bad I asked to cancel my reservation before even checking in. Should be considered as a very motel. I've stayed on better motels.

Why you don’t have zero star, I would like to give it zero star. I stay in this hotel from this Monday to Friday, they doing the construction everyday from early morning 7am without any notice. I have complain to the hotel but they just can’t do anything and hand up my phone!

If I could give this hotel 0 stars I would have. NOISY location. Terrible front desk staff. Asked for towels they never brought them had to drip dry… pics online are beautiful, but the hotel itself is in a very sketchy side of town. They said they would contact me and adjust the expensive rate for all the drama… My phone has yet to ring. Beware!

It is true in this case that inexpensive translates to quality and feel… Rooms were nice ish, updated look, remodeled shower etc. The noise from the street is pretty ridiculous all night, but urban and not super window… The only reason I wouldn't give three stars — reused/refilled shampoo bottle was obviously used before.

The deco is nice, but the rooms were dirty and in need of maintenance. TV didn't work in 1st room, so they moved me to 2nd. The door lock assembly was missing screws and toilet seat extremely loose. Maintenance never fixed it. I had to clean desk of sticky substance (dried juice? ) with cleaning solution housekeeping left behind. Also, they don't provide wash cloths, thus to wash up you use hand towels.

Room was newly. Renovated. Modern look and generally nice. Additional 8 bucks for parking which isn't terrible. No microwave. Room itself. Didn't have a smell but the rest of the hotel did have a weird. Mouldy odor. Simple Breakfast included, dry cereal fruits and pancake machine. Location is close to the observatory and jtown. Short drive or cheap uber. Some road noise from the room, and turning into the hotel driving from the south can be a little annoying.

Very convenient location. Clean, spacious room (newly renovated! ). Clean bathroom, but toilet seat is not attached properly. Light under bed flickers. Good service. Additional charge for overnight parking. Full amenities (Wi-Fi, safety deposit box, fridge, hair dryer, iron and board, common toiletries, no microwave). Overall, not bad.

Very cruisey but family safe it's a hybrid motel if sex and family time.

Well the room smelled like mold or mildew. Carpets look like they need to be shampooed. Bath room wallpaper was falling off. Breakfast was okay. 3 of the front staff were very nice. Except for the 3rd front desk rep she was rude rude rude. Housekeeper was nice enough to help us. I'm giving this hotel a 3 because I'm not a mean person. There's a lot of potential tho.

If you close one eye and squint with the other this is a beautiful hotel. The second you look past that quick glance you will see peeling wallpaper, and holes in the walls. You will see carpet that should be removed and burned, shower curtain rods that are falling out of the wall, and cigarette burns in everything despite the no smoking signs (the carpet, the walls, even the bathtub had cigarette burns). The mirror had red fingerprints next to it on the wallpaper. Is it lipstick? Is it blood? I don't know… This hotel over all had a very dingy feel as soon as you left the lobby. Many things in this hotel don't work. The power outlets in my room were so loose that nothing would stay plugged into them. The in room safe would not lock. And the space under the room door is at least 1/2 inch. My wife made me place a towel under the door because she thought someone would be looking through it. There are some positive things, it's got easy access, good parking, and the staff is nice. The televisions are new and the direct TV has a lot of channels. Perhaps the maintenance and cleaning staff genuinely try, but I don't know that anything short of a complete renovation could make this hotel suitable for a romantic weekend.

I was thrown off for a minute in the lobby. It doesn't look that nice down there. But man, when you get to your room, it's very clean and modern looking. There were lights under the bed that detected when your feet hit the floor so you can see where you're walking. There were 2 shower heads; one standard and one directly overhead. The only thing I didn't like was one of the employees wouldn't give us our room key when it wouldn't work. We have her the name the room was under but she said they had to be present. It's our manager who was in San Diego. It was a pain in the ass. Everyone else was helpful though.

Best place for location and price rooms on 3rd floor renovated easy parking and right next to beverly vermont metro station near clubs and bars plus breakfast and 24 hour check in.

Needs a remodel. Linens we're in good shape though. Chemical/smoke smell throughout room and hallway but close to public transit if you're on a budget.

The room is very nice. The front desk was polite and helpful. The hotel is located just north of Koreatown, and a visit to the restaurants there is a must for tourists.

The room and bathroom was disgusting. The wallpaper was falling off the walls. Water damage on the ceiling which I'm sure it had mold. Broken and cracked tiles. The toilet paper holder broken. Housing keeping did not do our beds after we came back. We asked for extra blanket and couldn't provide us with extra blankets. In the hallway the power cable was hanging from the ceiling to soda and ice machine. I would not recommend or ever stay at this hotel again! The pictures on the site are misleading. I have pictures to prove it.

This is the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in. There is peeling wallpaper in the room, the carpets are horribly stained, and they seem to look like just one big area rug they glued to the floor. The bathroom is a health code violation in it of itself. Beside the general uncleanliness of the bathroom the toilet paper holder is completely rusted, along with the cracked walls wear they have installed a curved shower rod for a straight edged tub.

This is the most disgusting hotel we have ever seen. It is NOTHING like the online pictures. The room was trashed and bathroom full of mould. The deadbolt didn't work on the door. The walls were ripped and stained. I gave it 1 Star because it wouldn't allow me to post without it. It deserves ZERO starts. Simply vile hotel.

Found 2 roaches in the bathroom! Worst hotel I've ever stayed in and the other night I could barely find any parking spots. My room was right next to the street so all night I only heard the cars driving by. Don't stay here.

Worst comfort Inn I've ever stayed at. Bad customer service. Advertised a pool online that doesn't exist. 8 dollars a day parking, shouldn't that be included in the room fee? Room smells really bad. AC runs 5 minutes and shuts off. I'm very disappointed that this hotel calls itself a comfort inn. Buyer beware.

Very disappointing This place urgently needs to be renovated. The rooms, hallways, elevator, everything looks shabby. The breakfast room is so small, you never find a free table. We had to eat breakfast in our filthy room. The staff was friendly, at least.

This hotel sucked the bathrooms were so dirty and the took anything when u left something and all the walls were scraped and online they said there was a pool but when we got there there wasn't and also there was a guy named pual he was so rude and when we went to the front desk he was eating with his mouth openwhen he aws talking to us.

Great access to Universal Studios by taking the metro. Driving it took us about 15 minutes from here. Hotel was relatively clean and worth the price. Staff was helpful and very courteous.

Decently clean but smells awful. Smells like and Indian kitchen (but not in a good way, even if you like Indian food). Had to keep the window open the whole time to be able to stay in the room. We would have left but got the room for $90/night and nothing else available even close to that price.

The front desk, " Peter" his so polite and respectful, the room he always gives us it's always the best he makes sure u in best hands, I recommend 100% to talk to Peter when planning to stay at comfort Inn at exactly this specific location, " Peter" u the best, love u its me the " blond girl".

Horrible hotel! I wouldn't even call it HOTEL, it is worse that cheapest MOTEL. Wow I haven't seen this disaster in my life. We had to cancel our vacation in LA, because of this hotel "cleanliness" We got the room on third floor, which is considered the best room (as receptionist said) Well, it smelled urine and mold, as soon as we walked in, carpet was ripped, dirty, there was a bathtub in the living room, with broken fixtures, curtains had a huge brown stains. I even took pictures just for reviews, I was soo upset. Well since we were driving for 5 hours, and came in the midnight we had no choice but spend night there, I only could sleep couple of hours, smell was horrible, and as soon as I woke up, we rearranged our flight to the same day (we were planning to stay two more days in LA before) Please do yourself a favor and look for another hotel.

Great place. Very discrete environment. Reliable. Price not too bad for quality.

BEST HOTEL IN LA HANDS DOWN Free Wi-Fi Free Breakfast Very clean/excellent service Great Location (ten mins from Griffith Park (Hollywood sign) ) I will always choose to stay here in the future. And I will recommend it to everyone I know. I am a student studying away from Philadelphia and I flew into L. A. Two days before I was allowed to move into my dorms (which I did NOT know until I showed up). Luckily I already had my car rented and everything so I spent my afternoon searching for hotels. This is a great hotel with excellent service. ***I've never travelled for long periods of time by myself, so it was nice to have friendly faces. Don't get me wrong, I have travelled a LOT by myself and to a LOT of different places, but moving somewhere can be stressful and especially when you don't have a place to live for two days*** Peter the GM is such a sweet guy. He made this feel like an open home to me. He gave me a great room for a great price. And most importantly being a blonde girl. I feel SAFE. -B.

I stayed alone with my 2 small girls on our weekend to Universal studios, the reception seem clean and the first lady to help me was very nice, BUT ROOM SMELL HORRIBLE. The smell of dirty armpits and sweat, hard to withstand smelling the whole night, and turning on the AC wouldn't help, and with both of my girls that suffer from asthma, this was not a healthy atmosphere for them. Carpet looked very old and dirty. Hallway was dark and had a strong odor also, and seemed like there was no exception on the other rooms since I can smell the same strong odor as I was walking through the rooms they had open due to cleaning. The man that assisted me at night when giving him my license plate information, was a bit rude. I know LA area really good and I have stayed in Comfort Inn and never had an unpleasant stay like I had at this one. It seems since they know most places in the are are either pricey or lack of vacancy, you wont have no choice but to stay once you are there, and are not very considerate of the hygiene of their place.

A brisk two-hour walk from the Universal Studios, this hotel is not exactly terrible, but disappointment is the dominating impression of the place. The breakfast ends at exactly 9 am, in what appears to be a dick move to make sure that as many people as possible oversleep and eat their breakfast at the nearby Denny's. There are unwashable stains on half of the towels and sometimes on the sheets. The tap water tastes weird. Still, the rooms are acceptably clean and not too shabby, so staying there by no means will ruin your LA experience. Other things will though. There is no reason to visit this filthy town, ever, perhaps with the exception of the Universal Studios.

Good location, close to everything in the car. (Weekdays are busy in Los Angeles. ) Comfortable room with King Size bed and bathroom. Clean. Free Wi-Fi. The receptionist was very helpful at all times. Our room was non-smoking. It has a mouth of underground in the corner. Two gas stations very close with little shop to buy if you want some food or drink at almost any time. There is a Denny's restaurant across the street and a JolliBee turning. The area is not very good for night walks since literally there is nobody in the streets and gives some uncertainty, but how it will drive all sites no problem. It has private parking with additional cost that must be used unless it doesn't matter you take you for a little walk. My room was to the inside which may not have good views but if it was very quiet. The day we arrived we had night and us cost to a couple of laps down the street until we found the hotel since car GPS sent us to another point of the street (and the streets there are huge) and did not see well due to the lack of light the name of streets at intersections to guide us.
