Beautiful. Parking was $1.25-$1.50/hr in the lot by the pier. Sunset and surfers. Great way to end the day! Lots of bathroom stalls. Lots of places to eat. :)

This is my go to pier to fish on outta of all the piers in LA County and orange county. It's the furthest out in the water, surrounded my open water, working sinks. Holes to hold your poles, clean bathrooms at the base of the pier along with a ton of restaurants, Amazing weather and great people. If you haven't fished Hermosa pier make some time to get out there. I've caught all kinds of fish here from Bass, Mackerel, sand sharks, stingrays, octopus etc…

The ocean beach with its characteristic scale, the width of at least 400-500 meters of sand, stretches for kilometers. The ocean washing the beach can show that it is not always quiet. Often windy and cooler than we would like. It turns out to take a dip comfortably in August. Plenty of places to stay, from the pier fish. The air is beautiful and the spectacle is pleasant.

Hermosa has always been my favorite LA beach. It seems the cleanest and quietest. Not a whole lot to do around there but a couple restaurants are there. If your goal is to relax on the beach and maybe do a little surfing, I'd check out Hermosa.

Low key compared to other beaches around the area. There are a few restaurants and shops but not as much compared to Venice and Redondo. Lots of beach volleyball. Lots of parking as well. Great place to relax if you want to get away from bigger crowds.

Nice area for music and food. Piers are not too crowded. Not the most busy place in comparison to Santa Monica and Laguna Beach. Located near Redondo so most visitors will skip this beach. You know beach is beach. If you are visiting after viewing La La Land, not worthy to spend a half day visit.

Amazing, clean beach, sea lions, dolphins fish! But it is very clean. Nice area for beach volley ball, and plenty of food and shops around. No street vendors seen, very few homeless. Metro casual vibe.

Stunning views and a great place to people watch. Everyone from tourists to locals fishing can be seen out there. Definitely check it out if you're down on pier ave.

Great location for food, drinks and lounging on the beach. If you love beautiful people and being creepy this is the place for you! Nice atmosphere and clubs, parking is a bit of a pain.

It is a "beautiful beach" has beautiful views to the sea and walk along the boardwalk and sit on a bench to enjoy life.

Have a good walk with the sound of the ocean! Smoking free zone and calm area. Highly recommend it!

Hermosa is a great place to be at any given time of day. The pier is a great place to go for a relaxing walk, on the boardwalk they have a wide variety of food spot for either brunch or dinner. At night this area is also very lively. No matter the time of day Hermosa is great.

Great place to ride your bike or rollerblade along the beach. Great restaurants and a few shops. Kids like sledding down the sand and going in the water. The water seems more clean than the northern beaches in my opinion. Great place to walk on the sand.

Amazing clean Beach! Good eats on the pier. Parking is tricky but we'll worth finding a spot. My kids loved this Beach.

Nice Pier, would be there on New Year's Eve. A Stage was built on which a Band played. Was very nice. There, only no Fireworks, as you know it from Germany.

Cute little beach city. I'd come here several times for festivals/events. Otherwise, it's too far away and lesser known than Venice/Santa Monica. Beautiful and peaceful walk along the waters.

Great tourist attraction. Fishing is great. Pier is small so gets busy on weekends. Lots of great restaurants on boardwalk as well.

More parking than other beaches. Many great family owned resutrants and eclectic shopping. Bike/walking path goes for 28 miles. Surfing and beach volleyball started here! Walk or fish on the pier. World class people watching. Gross funky public restrooms.

I really like Pier Avenue and the Pier. Lots of nice little shops and restaurants. You can easily spend an afternoon walking around checking stuff out. If you like volleyball there are usually a few games going on and occasionally there will be a professional tournament on weekends. The Pier has plaques to commemorate the great surfers who have surfed the local beaches.

Loved the area. Very calm and empty beach. Easy access and parking. Nice waves too. Watch out for the seagulls, they’ll steal your food!

Love this pier. Great vibe. Great food and spirits. Can rent bikes and ride to Santa Monica if you want. One of my fav places.

Lots of different restaurants from very good to average. Reserve on weekends for the highest rated restaurants. Go early or late for best parking.

It's the beach! That just automatically gives it 5 stars. It's a little dirty, specially at the end where people fish. There is a small bathroom at the end, a store and a small museum/aquarium, donation funded so don't be stingy. It's a beautiful walk at night during winter or summer alone, with someone or with a group. During the day over the weekends, it's always busy.

Great for sunsets and relaxing. The sand is much softer and finer than Santa Monica which is nice. Don't expect a lot of shopping opportunities like Santa Monica though. There's a few restaurants, but I feel like there are more bars than restaurants which might be good for some people but I'd prefer the other way around.

Great place for Romance just sitting on the Pier seats view of the Pacific Ocean and talk, with cool Pacific breeze. Or good place for fishing near the end of Pier. However no bait shops here. Or like me a paraplegic, just sight seeing. Very Wheelchair accessible in a manual Wheelchair. I'm 62 years old and went to the end of Pier easily by myself. Great place, that I highly recommend. Not as touristy as Santa Monica or Venice Beaches…

Great tourist area. A seaside town, quiet, safe and beautiful. The advice for a relaxing holiday near the big city of Los Angeles.

This place was cute. They have a nice theme going on. The staff are nice. There is a bar on the roof top and Hotel Hermosa. The rooms are cool. It's what type of hotel I usually go for. I liked it but, I would stay there again when there are so many other options.

Great location, great price for this location, 10 out of 10 in being clean and comfortable, nice beds and good showers. For $40 more get the rooms with Jacuzzi. For a hotel this size they need more staff at front desk. In other words you might need to wait a bit but well worth it. This is my favorite LA beach hotel…

Very beautiful. All employees are very nice & made sure all my needs where accommodated. Wish I would have stayed MORE than one night!

Pretty good, rooms are very clean, good breakfast selection, close enough to the beach.

These double rooms are small. We stayed for 2 nights it was tight for 2 teenagers with parents. It's decor is outdated but I thought it was kinda throwback to the posh sixties. Also, the pool is not heated. However it's in a really good location and the staff was nice. The breakfast is very continental, no frills at all. I booked this stay during Cyber Monday 50% off so this was a great price for this hotel and I would only stay again if we got another great deal and I would definitely get 2 rooms.

The service from the front desk was "okay" at best. Not friendly but got the job done. The rooms were very small. Almost no where to put your bags if there are 4 people staying in one room. Everything else about the hotel was nice though. The patio behind the hotel is very well designed and provided a slight view of the ocean. Overall if there is no where else to stay, this hotel will do the trick.

Stayed at this hotel on a cycling tour down the coast. Of nine hotels we stayed in, this was the only dud. Staff was inconsiderate, unhelpful, occasionally rude. Condition of hotel was in poor repair, with regards to a broken hot tub, broken hairdryer, broken juice dispenser and a non-draining shower. Also, there was a loud party down the hall until 4:30 am that the hotel staff did nothing to discourage. Wouldn't recommend at all.

Adolfo and candy were very hospitable they were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Beautiful view of the ocean I had pch 1 view but loved it candy even drove me to greyhound station in LA I would stay there again only had 1 loud neighbor iin 5 nights.

Fantastic location. Very warm and friendly staff. Clean rooms — some with an ocean view — that were spacious and actually had comfortable beds! GORGEOUS outside balcony with lounge chairs, tables and chairs, and stand alone chairs with beautiful gardens. The Elevator gives you a gorgeous ocean view looking out over Hermosa every time you ride. LOVED this place.
