For the price points, I think it’s a pretty good value overall. (It’s not a BW Plus, so you get what you pay for. ) The noise from the nearby 5 freeway is constant, but that’s SoCal for you. It’s a decent enough midscale hotel; a bit bland in terms of color, but still tasteful, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. I booked a king room with a balcony, and was given a top floor room on the end so it was quieter. Plus, it was a corner room, so I had windows on two sides, givi…ng me a more panoramic scenic view, which was lovely. I liked the hot tub and pool side lounge area, and the free breakfast, although I wish it went past 10 AM, since I was here on a holiday weekend. There is also an on-site coin laundry, which can be helpful when you are traveling. Overall, I found the staff very personable, helpful, and responsive. There are some structural issues which should be addressed sooner rather than later: my balcony was very nice and had a beautiful view, but its cement floor sloped downward visibly. You step out onto it, and you can immediately feel yourself going “downhill“. Ditto for the tiled outdoor corridors connecting the rooms; you can see with the naked eye that they aren’t level. Also, there was a crack in the ceiling that ran the entire length of my room; and although the majority of it was plastered and painted over, as you got closer to the balcony, the crack got bigger and was not painted over. Over time, these things can and will create a dangerous condition. Finally, they need to consider buying some clear plastic shower liners to put in the bathrooms in addition to the shower curtain. Liners aren’t very expensive, and they protect the shower curtain from getting wet. I took a shower my first night there, and the bottom of the curtain got soaking wet and the water spilled all over the bathroom floor. I had to use all of the towels in my room to mop it up. Overall, a great location close to everything; nice people; and good value for money. It could just do with a little bit more improvement.
