Review of Super 8 2*

Hands down, the absolute worst hotel experience I have ever had in my lifetime. I checked in about 3am on 12/10/17. I was on the bed, waiting to fall asleep when I felt a bite from some type of bug. I have no idea what bit me, but since it was one bite, I didn't worry too much about it, so I eventually fell asleep. Around 4 or 5am the fire alarms went off. Then I tried to fall back asleep and the fire alarms went off again… and then a third time. After the third time I gave up on sleeping. I *needed* the sleep. I still had 600 miles to travel and I was awake for over 24hrs at this point. Eventually I gathered everything and checked out. The staff immediately apologized for the alarms. I told them it wasn't their fault, and then I was surprised when they countered with, "Actually, it was. " Yes, it was the staff's fault the fire alarm went off — not just once, but the THREE times. I just stared at them as they explained how/why it happened, and I told them I barely got one hour of sleep because of them. They just shrugged, apologized, and took my key. They didn't offer a discount or any compensation, and I was too dumbstruck by the situation (not to mention, absolutely exhausted). I plan to contact corporate about this situation and will update my review accordingly if/when they touch base with me. But my advice for any travelers in the area thinking of staying at the Super 8 in Willcox, AZ — KEEP ON DRIVING! Even if it's just down the street to another motel in the area or a motel in the next town, just keep on driving.
