This was a girls weekend that was perfect! Easy to plan and get around the resort. Food was great and staff was great. Definitely want to go back with my husband!

Our reservation was for 8:15 pm. We checked in at 8:10 pm. The hostess said, “I’ll tell them you’re here and they’ll get a table ready. ” We were instructed to wait in two chairs in the hall. The hostess disappeared from view AND NEVER RETURNED! After waiting 20 minutes we left!

Beautiful resort but would not recommend having a wedding here. There are a lot of communication and management issues in the events area of this team. Once they have your final payment, they literally ignore your calls and emails for any concerns you may have.

This is our second visit here and we totally recommend staying here. All the staff is very nice and very helpful. The rooms are beautiful and very well maintained. Can't complain also about the view out of the back sliding door. Beautiful! We would stay here again.

We arrived at 1:45 for our reservation. We were given brunch menus. One person from our party didn’t arrive Until after 2. When we went to order we were told the brunch menu ended at 2 and we could only order appetizers. Wait staff had been over at our table repeatedly and were told we were waiting for someone. They could have told us we needed to order by 2. Not customer focused service.

Just got back after a week with our family and it was really wonderful! I understand it is Covid-19 time but only having 2 places to eat was hard. All Mexican for Rita’s and Sprouts at the Spa (which was FANTASTIC! ) which had about 6 choices made us go out for every dinner and tbh, that was fine because we ate at some AMAZING places in Scottsdale! Great vacation and the Casita was so quiet and spacious! Loved it!

Beautiful peaceful place! The grounds are amazing with lots of varieties of plants, flowers & of course cactus. You can see the camelback mountain from the hotel. The food is delicious, great drinks at the bar. Great place to celebrate my birthday!

This resort is amazing. It is beautiful and quiet. Tons to do for both kids and adults. The staff are friendly and attentive and the food delicious… excellent service. Cleanliness and social distancing was well maintained during our entire stay. I cannot express enough how fabulous our time here was. Definitely, at the top of our list for a return trip!

Worst front desk customer service ever. The resort is lovely and the other service staff is courteous. Family of 5 beware. The Marriott site allows you to book a room for 5 and prepay for it but the resort says such room does not exist and the manager tries to blame you for putting down 3 children and it must have assumed 3 small children. That manager should get more training as Marriott site requires you to put the age of your children in when booking so it knew we had 3 teenage children. The manager had zero empathy for our situation and basically told us we could take the room that sleeps four or buy another room and drop another $1000 for our vacation. The manager basically did not value our business because they were “sold out” so we were SOL.

While I was looking to purchase a home I stayed at the Camelback Inn and I have to say the staff was wonderful, from housekeeping to guest services, and valet, their care and customer service was outstanding. I personally want to thank Meredith from the front desk who took so much care to look after us during our stay. She genuinely made us feel valued as customers and should I ever need to stay at a hotel in this area this is the one I would go to hands down.

My husband and I just checked out of this resort for our honeymoon (live in Wisconsin) as we didn’t want to go tropical this time of year. It was absolutely hands down an amazing resort! We loved that our room door opened up to outside vs in a large complex. Everything from the grounds being well maintained to room service to pool side service! It was a great vacation and we will most definitely be back! Everyone was so helpful and friendly!

I came to this location, for work, in May of 2017. It quickly became my favorite place and I knew I wanted to come back, again. My boyfriend and I booked our trip for Labor Day Weekend, and I didn’t know it was possible to love this place even more! Our whole experience has been such a blessing! I wish I could remember the gentleman’s name, that we first came into contact with, when we got here. He was out by the golf carts and had a brace on his wrist. He was so helpful and kind to us. We enjoyed lunch at, Sprouts, before my spa treatments. Darcy was our waitress, she is the most outgoing and upbeat! She made our lunch so great! Massage by Kelly and facial by Johanna! They were very relaxing and amazing!
I can’t wait to come back!

Absolutely the most beautiful scenery in the Phoenix area. Just the wild life alone was truly amazing. Quail and rabbits are everywhere. The service was excellent from the front desk to the bell person, and restaurant staff. We had a very nice and relaxed 3 days! Oh and the Native American statues are spectacular as well. Our room was not ready when we got there so they "upgraded" us to a one bedroom suite and gave us $50 to buy drinks while we waited. Perfect way to begin to unwind!

This is my go-to place in Phoenix — beautiful mountains surrounding the resort, great casitas to stay in, shop has authentic native american bowls and other products, food is good, service is EXCELLENT — if they ever sold these casitas as a live-in resort I'd buy!

Incredible Relaxing Getaway, Highly Recommended. From the time we checked in we received a warm welcome from Katherine. Making our anniversary special. The room was perfectly updated and comfortable. The spa was refreshingly tranquil and relaxing. Scott made sure we were comfortable around the serene pool, waiting on us in a manner that was not overbearing, just right. Juan and Frankie made the spa area warm an inviting. It had everything needed to relax and unwind. The steam room and sauna was always ready, and the cold plunge was awesome! The deep tissue massages where great, a bit overpriced, but nonetheless good! Highly Recommended!

Stopped by Bar 1936 to try the Happy Hour. I used to go there for happy hour when it was BLT but hadn't been back for a few years as I no longer get live as close to it. They still have a great happy hour that goes longer than most — til 7pm — and they have a great happy hour menu that has both food and drinks on it. The wife and I ordered glasses of wine and a few food items and we're very happy with the new food offerings. The atmosphere in the bar area is definitely more relaxed than the rest of the restaurant and the bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable. We're definitely going to try and make it back more often as we really enjoyed our experience there.

Absolutely fantastic family vacation in one of the most beautiful resorts in Scottsdale. Our kids had a blast and my wife and I enjoyed romantic dinners and spa treatments. The hotel staff is top notch. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful vacation. Would be great for couples only as well. It’s on the pricey side but well worth it.

Had breakfast at Rita’s Kitchen (were staying at a different resort). The food was excellent, but was surpassed by the service. Julio may have been the best server I have ever had; no joke. Unbelievable! Orlando may have been the best bus. What a team; super kudos!

This was the most perfect place for my husband and I to come to after our wedding night. The staff was extremely welcoming and even upgraded our room on the house. Room service was absolutely delicious and was so quick, but be weary because it’s a ton of food! We asked for extra towels and pillows and they were there within 30 minutes! We loved the adult only pool and spent a lot of time relaxing. The best hotel experience I’ve ever had!

Although we only stayed one day, the resort staff made us feel welcome from the moment we entered the property. The grounds are meticulously maintained and is nice just to stroll the facility in the morning and listen to the birds and the various fountains. It is also nice to have choices when we ate and although we only had time for the Bar and the Family restaurant it was nice to see at a future visit there is a more upscale steak option. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

Beautiful resort and 24 hour pool! The rooms were a bit outdated and had a musty smell for a 5 star resort unfortunately — Did I say the pool is 24 hours?! You can also rent bicycles from the concierge and ride around which is a nice perk. There is live music most days by the restaurant patio. The resort staff are very friendly and accommodating which makes up for the sub par beds and rooms. The bathrooms are quite upgraded — hoping the rooms reach that 5 star level someday.

An amazing place. So beautiful. The staff is all so nice and accommodating. They are on top of everything, quick service, helpful, polite. One of our favorite places we have ever been. The beds are the most comfortable beds we have ever stayed in outside of our own home. Rooms are great. Wonderful resturant options. Could be at the pool all day long every day. Just over all fantastic!

Just returned from a stay at the Camelback Inn. It was amazing in every way. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and Anna at the front desk went above and beyond to make sure it was special. Her recommendations and help really created an awesome experience for both my wife and me. Rooms, pool, spa, and fitness center were top notch and the service on point. Can't wait for our next visit. Not really our cup of tea. The pool was beautiful and the bathroom was nice. But the bed was uncomfortable. The water heater for the entire building was in our room so any time anyone used water it was so loud it woke us up. Their pull out couch was super small too. We've stayed in more accommodating places. We used our points for this stay too which was slightly disappointing.

The staff was very accommodating and friendly! I loved my day at the spa. The rooms are nice and comfortable. Everytime I stay I have a great experience. I had a few issues but they were quickly resolved. I love how peaceful the area is.

Hoping this was the first of many trips. Loved the everything about this resort. Enjoyed the "one with nature" feel accompanied with the quick trip to the car or spa. Loved falling asleep and waking up to the sounds of the desert birds as opposed to the sounds of other guests or doors closing.

The staff were very accommodating and most were extremely pleasant! Emelia, Katherine and Frankie at the front desk took care of us for check in and helped make sure we had a great stay answering questions. Frankie (the OG) at the spa made me feel welcome and I really enjoyed his casual yet professional demeanor. Shout out to John, Chris and Mike from front drive and Susan from Sprouts!

Truly magical, escape from the everyday. Time does stand still at this resort. The only uncertainty is the room selection process, but though that is huge to me, I did find I spent sleeping and showering hours in the room. Loved the spa, restaurants, can do attitude of the staff, appreciation for our Marriott status and the gardens and courtyard are breathtaking. Excellent proximity to hiking, dining, shops and more. 360 degrees of breathtaking views. Highly recommend.

Lunch at Rita's. Beautiful location, lush flowers, plenty of outdoor seating. Great beet salad with sliced chicked; cheddar burger with fries and third guest had shrimp stuffed avocado. Glorious sunshine.

Beautiful resort. Excellent food and service. More in the city than I would have liked but still lovely. Rooms are great. Minus one star from five only because the mattresses are a little outdated and firm.

I have not had the means or ability to stay here as a guest. My 5 star review comes from a contractor's perspective. The facilities department calls me sometimes for service or troubleshooting. I have been blown away by the professionalism, courtesy, and cleanliness of the mechanical areas. I know that probably doesn't mean alot to someone who is looking to be a guest. If you are reading this, consider that as a mechanical contractor I am very impressed with how well the parts of this resort you won't ever see are cared for. That level of professionalism and attention to detail is the standard for everything. That is the standard in the mechanical and facilities spaces, where the only people who will be impressed are contractors. If the staff here is happy to show off to a guy like me, imagine what they will do for a guest.

You never need to leave this place. The rooms are comfortable and perfectly equipped. The restaurants offer a variety of dining — if I had only eaten on the resort for an entire week, I still would have been satisfied! We found the pool to be the perfect temperature, even on a chilly day, and the hot tub even lovelier. A dedicated hiking trail behind the venue on mummy mountain was a nice way to start the day. Easy enough to hike with a cup of coffee in one hand, and a great view at the top. The resort landscaping was easily the best part. Incredibly beautiful and inviting to so many animals — quails, bees, hummingbirds, bunnies, etc.

Very nice resort. Close to the airport. I was visiting for 2 days of training, hosted at the resort. My room was very nice (Sorry I forgot to take a pic). I had a 1st floor room with a nice patio. Overall, service and attention was what you would expect from a resort. Staff was very attentive. Showed me to my room and ensured that my overall stay was pleasant. Conference area was nice as well. My only "complaint" is that the patio area of my room, had a nice table, but no chairs to sit outside. However, I never raised the issue since it was just a 2 day stay. I am. Confident that the staff would have gotten chairs, had I asked.

Give it a 4 ONlY because the rooms are outdated. The bathrooms are an obvious upgrade for sure, but not the room. Need better beds decor and such. Other than that LOVELY. Great location, top notch spa. Speedy attention. After all, this is the JW.

Had a fantastic room. Great view of Camelback from deck made for pleasant morning coffee and reading. Very nice pool area although it could've used some Palm trees or something to break up expanse of concrete decking. Excellent service from everyone. Had a deep tissue massage from Michael in spa… Highly recommend. Food at main, pool, and spa restaurants was excellent. Only quibble that keeps this from a 5 star review is that the sounds insulation between rooms was mediocre. Woke up two different mornings to sound of next door TV. Also, no safe in room.

The rooms were very clean and well maintained. Location was in beautiful Scottsdale which is a short drive to just about anywhere. This hotel is a must stay if you're looking for a quick getaway or for a long trip.

Great facility. Golf course is not on site. But they have shuttles. Swimming pool is not as great as Hyatt regency in the same city. Good spa. Bell boys service is also a little below the hotel that I mentioned. Will easily miss the main entry.

I was here with my company in 2015. This place is magnificent. So relaxing. Awesome food and service. They put on some super events for all of us. Plus a tour to the desert. I think about this place fondly and would love to go back with family.
FYI… DO NOT leave without a trip to their Gift Shop and pick up some of their souvenir towels. These are the best ever! Hoping I can purchase some more from them to ship to me. They are the only towels I use now. Very soft and luxurious.

The grounds are lovely, especially in the fall when the air is crisp and the open air fire pits distributed around the property are lit and surrounded by plentiful seating. Staff was helpful, knowledgeable and always looking for an opportunity to be of service. The rooms are a bit dated and could use an update, but are spacious and well appointed. Beds were comfy with a selection of pillows, which I always appreciate. The food on-site is good, although probably a bit overpriced ($20-$26 for the breakfast buffet, depending on what you want included). But there are a number of excellent restaurants a short ride away. Camelback golf club is also only a few minutes from the hotel, and the bell desk provided us with transportation in their GMC Yukon with plenty of time before our tee-times. Both courses are very good, although the links course is a bit more picturesque and challenging. I did not visit the pool or spa during my stay, but the pool always seemed lively yet relaxing. Overall, this is an excellent resort for a retreat, whether business or personal in nature.

I’m currently staying at the JW and I couldn’t wait to write the review. This place is amazing! The food, the service, the location — unbelievable! They upgraded us to a parlour suite with our own private pool, literally couldn’t ask for anything more. This place is a MUST stay and I would recommend it to anyone: couples, families. Anyone!

It is a very nice hotel. It is like your house. It's close to airportort and nice locations. This hotel is good for hiking mountain. There was very nice view from this hotel. The hotel room was very nice clean and well organized. This hotel had a tennis court, golf. I was very enjoy the night to stay here. I think everybody like this hotel and very reasonable price.

My husband and I had an event with brunch and the staff was wonderful! Our server in the room was so kind and quick to offer beverages. Food was top notch and we loved It! Can't wait to go back again!

This is a very nice resort hotel. Visitors need to understand in advance that this place is like a small town and requires a lot of walking to get around. It's not a traditional hotel with all of the rooms and amenities in a single building. To add to that, there is construction on part of the property which has closed part of the internal road/walking area. I was simply not prepared for the size of the place.

I stayed at the JW Marriott in Scottsdale for a night. The rooms were clean and well furnished. The service was excellent. I had a great time at the pool where I enjoyed a really great strawberry smoothie. I would stay here again on my next visit.

I joined a hotel guest for a social function at the pool. There were multiple, spacious pools, each with clear water and clean surfaces. There aware lap areas, play areas, and a hot tub so everyone was satisfied. Additionally, there was a gazebo providing water and towels. Overall, I'd very highly rate the pools at Camelback inn.

A beautiful location to visit with incredible service all around. Our stay has been flawless. From the great rooms, the personable staff and amazing landscapes, we have been made to feel so welcome. Lovely oasis in the desert!

Beautiful hotel. Staff was useless. I needed to find a ballroom for a meeting and was told to go out the door to the left down the walkway and it was first on the right. Nope after walking around for another 10 minutes, and seeing absolutely no one. I called a few people I knew who were attending and found out from where I was originally — it was straight out the door, straight ahead, furthest building (3rd), needed to go around the grass/garden circle. They need to learn to give better directions or better yet, get up and walk with you.

If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. Com Booked a room on there and they had the cheapest rates around… Fabulous place for a conference. (I didn't stay at the hotel since I live close by. ) The property is beautifully snuggled between Camelback mountain and Mummy mountain. The views are spectacular. The service at the conference was first class. The bathrooms were clean, well place, and not crowded. FYI — Even though it's over 100F outside, it was comfortable inside.

I love this hotel. The staff are friendly and accommodating — each and every one of them. My senses were confused between a retro 1950s playground and a modern spa. The art gallery is an amazing touch! Everything I ate was freshly made, delicious and served with a smile. I'll be back!

Attended a wedding here, everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Beautiful buildings and grounds. The steakhouse makes a perfect filet mignon. Delicious!

Went to SplunkLive! Which was hosted here. The conference rooms were very clean and kept at a nice temperature the whole time. The equipment that was used was great. I would definitely attend another conference here.

Beautiful facility with great staff. Rita's cafe was spot on. However Wi-Fi is unavailable in the conference rooms for personal purchase and the group conference rate is $30/device per day which is absolutely absurd. Plus phone signal was poor inside as well (I know, not their fault, but didn't help…) Lost one star to Wi-Fi. Get with the times! Get reasonable Wi-Fi pricing and allow site wide roaming!

Traveled to JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn for a conference. Stayed two nights. Rooms were spacious and clean. The shower in the bathroom holds wonderful temperature and water pressure. Staff is friendly and very professional. I had a leak in my first room (flash flood in January) which I didn't notice but they did. Moved me quickly when I returned from meeting. Second room just as wonderful and relaxing. Grounds are absolutely gorgeous with beautiful flower beds, native trees and cactus. The Camelback Mountain in the background is breathtaking, just perfect place to relax. Would love to stay here again either leisure or conference.

What a disappointment, after the high ratings of others. We were especially disappointed by the rooms which were devoid of some the usual amenities in hotels, no less those in this price range. There was no bottled or water in pitcher bit — — if you want to buy some, it was $8. We were not told where the ice machines or soda machines even existed outside the room; when we found the latter, it was non-functional. The room drawers had non of the usual wine (and bottle) opener. The shelf in the shower was too small to accept soap and shampoo, certainly not for two people. As for a view, it was 'OK' — but our particular view onto the part of the 'resort' was not as nice as others seem to feel (and no view of mountain and no balcony). Lastly, perhaps due to weather and the end of holiday season, I felt that we were overloaded with "Happy New Year". But rather limited sense of true warmth by the greeting staff (3 of whom were chatting rather than helping) However, to give credit where due, the people at front desk and in business center were very helpful and genuinely 'warm. ' And the food at the restaurant was excellent. Any one of these negative comments by themselves would be 'picky', I realize, but combine all these together, it ended up to be a disappointing stay. I definitely would not return.

Have been here for Sunday brunch several times and every time it blows me away. The service is fantastic and the food is stellar. They have everything you could possibly want, and everything tastes great. Highly recommend!

My wife and I have gone the last 4 years for our anniversary and the resort has never disappointed. We have been fortunate to be given upgrades each year to spectacular rooms. Its proximity to great hiking trails is a huge plus for us. The pool is fantastic and he staff goes out of their way to make your experience the best it can be. We absolutely love this place.

We had a great time revisiting the Camelback Inn after 19 years. Although there were many changes, we enjoyed every aspect of the resort. The grounds were beautiful, the staff superb, and the entertainment (Dan Emrey) was a highlight of our vacation. So much so that we are contemplating coming back again!

BEWARE****************** The resort's restaurant BLT served contaminated seafood the night of 6-30-15. At least 30 people became violently ill with food poisoning, and one person is known to have gone to the hospital. The BLT restaurant, The Camelback Resort, and the Marriott claims corporate office is aware of this massive out-break. However, they refuse compensate the victims after flights and work days were missed, not to mention the extreme pain and suffering Save yourself an overpriced stay at this resort which would likely end in horrible, violent sickness from the contaminated BLT restaurant.

Eight years ago, my husband and I stayed at the JW Marriott Camelback Inn, and I posted the following: love everything about this "old" resort. It feels homey and the setting is beautiful. Perhaps the Camelback Inn is still a great place to stay, but I cannot recommend the JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort and Spa. My family just completed an 8 day stay there, and 2 pieces of our luggage was stolen on the first night! The hotel video confirmed that all of our luggage was on the luggage cart and headed to our room, but that same night, while we were downstairs for dinner, 2 of our bags were stolen. The management at the Desert Ridge Marriott never communicated with us or sent us an apology or offered any compensation. Instead that made us wait until AFTER we checked out, 8 days later, to let us know that they would not take any responsibility for the theft. We do not recommend this property. Their behavior is despicable.

This was my first visit to Arizona and so glad I stayed here. Walking into my room it is rustic and beautiful. You have your own private patio which was perfect for your morning coffee and evening glass of wine. The staff goes above to make sure your every want and needs were met. They were so friendly from management, telephone operators to housekeeping and even the grounds keepers. You will say hello and thank through out your stay. The pool and property are absolutely GORGEOUS! My intent for this trip was to relax, take a break from the cold and clear my head and I did exactly that. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the CAMELBACK INN! I have been going to this spa for 21 years. I am a valley resident and have been to most of them. Phoenician, Four Season, Sanctuary, etc. Camelback Inn Spa is my favorite. I surrounds are breath taking and my favorite feature is Spouts Restaurant in side the spa. You don't have to get out of your robe or walk to the resort to eat lunch. The food is healthy and delicious as well. Many of the staff have been there as long as I have been going there. THAT right there says an awful lot about how great this Spa is.

Living at the beach in California I wasn't expecting much of Arizona. But my husband and I loved it! I know this resort is the main reason we felt it was such an awesome vacation. Built in 1936 yet impeccably maintained. Staff super friendly and "real"; not snooty! Loved the ice water with lemons in main lobby/pool areas. Beautiful views of Camelback and Mummy Mountain, and enjoyed jogging in the multimillion dollar neighborhood next door. Good Lord willing we will be back.

Absolutely loved everything about the place! Food was superb, staff was personable and very accommodating. We'll be back.

Excellent resort for a getaway, the spa (adult) pool area is ideal for those looking to escape kids, and service at the spa pool is top notch. The spa facilities are excellent — on site gym which is 3x the size of the gym near the family pool, large steam room, sauna, and whirlpool areas. The lobby and outdoor areas immediately behind the lobby are perfect for breakfast, lunch, and a late night cocktail. There is also a stand alone Starbucks on site, which is super convenient.

Every aspect of our stay was perfect. The staff was exceptional. Everyone had a smile on their face and was so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and the spa experience wonderful. We will be coming back.
