Stayed here when we saw THE North Pole Experian! We loved it and all the staff was super friendly!

Extremely easy checkin. The room and bathrooms are so clean. 2 bedroom king suite, such a great price!

The rooms are spacious and clean. We are very comfortable staying here. The staff is very friendly. And we really enjoy the free breakfast. We stay at the Pony Soldier whenever we are in Flagstaff.

Friendly front desk & check in. Nice room. Good location. I wish there was a micro wave in the room, though.

Older place, but very clean, and they gave us a king suite which is great, 2 full bathrooms, and 2 TV's, I don't have to watch football!

They are so kind there and make sure you are doing ok they provide window scrapers and one Guy that worked there helped me scrape my windows I will recommend anyone to go there this is by far the coolest hotel ever thanks for everything.

I was specifically staying here because I'm a Best Western Member and only needed a place to stay for the night. Now, my wife made the reservation for me while I was driving (hands free) and I had my room reserved immediately for the same night. Upon arrival, the Front desk employee was friendly, processed me in and directed me to my room. For the price the room was plenty big enough and if I weren't just sleeping I'd likely come back and try their breakfast and explore Flagstaff for a bit. But military duty calls and I had to be in Northern California the next day so I was out of there by 0530. The room was quiet, I had plenty of space for my visit and the room was comfortable.

The rooms are nice and look like they have been updated recently. The complimentary breakfast was nice but could have used some waffles. Overall a nice place to stay — but take note it's pretty close to the train tracks, so keep that in mind if you're a light sleeper.

Outstanding service. The hotel appears a bit dated on the outside, but has been refurbished on the inside. Front of house staff are quite cordial and engaging. The behind he scenes staff, maids, maintenance, food service are quite appreciated, as well. Breakfast included. Highly recommend.

From the outside, this looks like an old dated hotel, but it has been remodeled very nicely and is very cute inside. The breakfast is delicious and the person serving that morning couldn't have been more friendly, happy, and positive! Overall all the staff were super friendly and nice. I didn't give it 5 Stars it because the pull-out sofa bed had dirty sheets on it that had not been changed, yuck! The staff came and changed it right away.

Our stay was pleasant from beginning to end. The room was super clean… nice bathroom, large fluffy towels, plenty of hot water & great water pressure. The bed was comfortable & the pillows just right. A wonderful huge breakfast buffet was enjoyed. Our compliments to everyone at this location. If our travels bring us through Flagstaff again this will be our choice lodging.

This hotel was well worth it! The room was nice and clean, lobby and staff were great, but the clincher was the breakfast! It was huge. The separate dining room was very nice and the food was plentiful. Best big, hot breakfast we've had at a hotel for a long time. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice, large, clean room. The staff was friendly and really helpful. Breakfast was delicious and even though we got there close to the end, they still made us fresh coffee. I highly recommend staying here!

Nice older BW. Our room was ok size, small bathroom area but it was a free night with a pet so no complaints. My family member came to visit and their room was very spacious. Everything was clean and in order. Breakfast was very good and great variety. Staff was professional and very helpful. If we were to go to Flagstaff again, we would stay here again.

Family and I were in town for husband's graduation. Staff was great and helpful! Breakfast area was clean and staff tending to the breakfast area was very polite and courteous in helping in whatever we needed. Staff very knowledgeable of area. We will definitely stay at this hotel whenever we make it back to Flagataff.

Great stay, great view. Hotel concierge recommended a wonderful Italian restaurant around the corner, and also helped us decide which route to take heading north from Flagstaff. Rooms were very clean and spacious enough for 3 (two queen beds). I would stay at this hotel again if passing through the area.

The rooms are nicely decorated and have been upgraded. There are lots of outlets and ports to charge your electronics. The room was good sized. The breakfast is fantastic and the dinning area is large, one of the best we have enjoyed. Will definitely come back when we are in Flagstaff.

Reasonably priced. Good breakfast (lots of hot and cold options). Indoor pool and spa area were nice (little too much chlorine but a nice perk). Rooms were clean (suites have two full baths) and beds were comfortable. Toilets about a foot and a half off the ground (great if your have a toddler but if not, not so much). Shower/toilet area small and is really the only private area in the room for changing.

This hotel is a little out of the bustle of town, but very close to Cracker Barrel and Texas Roadhouse Restaurants, both great dinner choices. The bed was so comfortable, I slept well and felt good in the morning. The staff was friendly, the parking was ample and the breakfast was fresh with a large variety of foods, hot and cold. We loved Flagstaff, AZ and we would definitely stay here again.

Very comfortable experience staying in the Best Western. Clean and neat is how I would describe the room. Bed was comfortable. Room was well appointed with what I needed. I appreciate the cleanliness of the Best Westerns. Breakfast was nice with over hard eggs, bacon and variety of cut fruit. Lots of breakfast choices.

I've stayed at the Pony Soldier for several years. Wonderful breakfast room with excellent breakfast options. Staff is responsive and polite. Rooms are well kept and comfortable. Scott is an on-site manager and seems interested in maintaining an attractive, well run property for his guests.

Front desk staff was very good. Moved us to a first level room, as their elevator wasn’t working, and we were traveling with my elderly father. Standard double queen room was clean, bathroom especially so. However the glass sliding bathroom door is very awkward, especially when sharing a room. Every noise, flush and smell wafts throughout the entire room! Decent hot breakfast the next morning. Overall, a pretty good property, though the heat was very loud & noisy. Had to turn it off for a few hours overnight to get some sleep. Seriously reconsider those sliding glass bathroom doors!

My family and I have always stayed with best western because of their great quality service and hospitality. I thought this time will be no different than the last experiences we’ve had with them. Boy was I wrong! Extremely noisy place, kids running and crying down the halls from 6-10pm, second floor guest stomping their feet on the floor not to mention the train next to the hotel. As if that was not enough, staff denied my family access to our room alleging that they assumed we had checked out without turning in our keys. We took our son to compete to NAU very early and return at 9am to change our clothes and eat breakfast and they told us we couldn’t get in because housekeepers had already clean the room. We told them that our check out was at 11 am but they still said no. Will not be staying here anymore and definitely do not recommend to stay here if they want a pleasant stay in flagstaff. Completely disappointed with their service.

This had the pleasant combination of good service and a clean, modern looking facility. The rooms were well-appointed and comfortable. I also enjoyed the free breakfast. However, like many hotels on Route 66, the trains going by were loud. Also, don't expect any spectacular views. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would recommend to others.

The best Western was a great hotel. Their rooms were quiet and we'll located. The staff was kind and considerate. Checkout was quick. You really cannot beat it if you need to stay nearby.

The Place is not bad despite how old it is… It Is Comfortable, Good beds, has heating, however; Although it is seen that this re modeled, the time already passed Bill to the rooms with details that let see the age of the building. On entering the room I perceived a rare smell, which is nothing more than the countless days of service that the hotel already has. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and the rooms were very good. Good option to arrive one night to rest from the trip and continue the road the next day.

Great hotel. Has been recently refurbished it looks like. The tub is a bit small, but the room, bed/bedding were great. The staff was really nice and the hot breakfast was good and we liked the pancake-making machine. I could hear the train outside but it honestly wasn't that loud to me and didn't disrupt my sleep.

We arrived a bit before 2 pm check in. They got us in a room promptly, but it was humid and smelt of cleaning chemicals. This lasted though out our stay. We had a room serviced after the kids had a bath the night before, no wash cloths were given to us. Same with the next day. The eggs at the breakfast were runny with water and clearly powdered eggs — — yuck! You can hear everything the people next to us say, and there are elephants walking on our roof from the room above. The heated pool is nice, but I don't think I'd stay here again.

Everything was intact in the rooms I loved the idea about the soup and shampoo dispensers. We enjoyed the fact of having a coffee without leaving the our room. The staff was very polite, helpful and friendly. Thank you, for the complementary breakfast it delicious.

As the saying goes, "You can't judge a book by it's cover", so it is with the Best Western Pony Soldier Inn & Suites in Flagstaff. I don't mean to say it's an unpleasant property to look at, it's just not elegant. But it's what's inside that counts. The lobby, rooms, and facilities are clean and well appointed. The staff is amazing, and the complimentary breakfast is excellent. We always enjoy our stay each year when we cart the family out to Williams, Arizona for the Polar Express on the Grand Canyon Railway. Thank you BW Pony Soldier!

The hotel is in a great location. Though it's right near railroad tracks, you can hardly hear the trains. Overall, the place is quite nice. Rooms are well-appointed (though ours was missing a "do not disturb" sign which got us interrupted by cleaning staff a couple of times during our 1 night stay). It's clean. Breakfast was better than in other hotels I've been in where a continental breakfast is offered. The beds, though… the mattresses are very firm which made for a very difficult night's sleep. That's the main reason this doesn't get 5 stars.

The heated indoor pool and hot tub were terrific, but the rooms are too small for families. We were cramped, kept bumping into each other, and the bathrooms are way too small. The staff is great, breakfast was good, but if you're traveling with more than two people, get an extra room!

Our king suite cost less than most standard rooms and had two bathrooms and a living room! The hotel is located across the street from a busy train track, but there must be an ordinance preventing them from blowing their whistles during the nighttime hours. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good.

Front desk was an easy check-in. Warm & inviting. Nice grass dog area, pool & large breakfast room with really good selection of hot breakfast items. Tile floor in bathroom was very cold had to put towels on floor.

Everything about our stay was GREAT! The room was very clean. The breakfast room was clean and there was a great selection of food for breakfast. All the employees we had contact with were very pleasant and very helpful with our requests. When we go back to Flagstaff, we will be staying here again.

I have never experienced such an unqualified staff and such a poor type of occupancy in a BW hotel. Not recommended, very far outside and little booked hotel.

I was very happy with my stay here. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was modern and clean. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of good pillows. The free breakfast that was included with the room was great. Many options and well prepared. The only negative thing I could say about my stay was that they don't have a fitness room. Other than that I was extremely happy with my stay and will definitely stay here again.

I have higher expectations for Best Western. No laundromat, bathtub stopper had build up inside and difficult to move. On one day they left 1 bath towel (this was a suite and had two bathrooms. One bathroom had 2 towels) in my bathroom. The staff were nice and professional. The cleanliness of the room was good. Breakfast was as expected.

The room seemed a bit small, there was really no privacy if you want to do use the bathroom, what with the Japanese style paper doors. The toilet was awfully low to the ground, me being a tall person there was a bit of trouble in retaining my upright position after using the toilet.
The staff however was great, and the breakfast superb.

This was a very clean and well taken care of hotel. The queen room was a little small, but had everything you would need. Even though it was across from the railroad, the room was well soundproofed and quiet. The hot breakfast was very complete, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay again when needing to stay in Flagstaff.

Everything about my stay was first rate. At check-in the staff directed me to park my motorcycle under the canopy as rain was expected. The room was great and very quiet. The bed was very comfortable. Lots of electrical outlets for charging phone and my GPS. And there was a refrigerator in the room. The hotel is walking distance from an iconic music roadhouse, the Museum Club, and many restaurants. Very pleasurable experience.

Was a very nice hotel. The breakfast was wonderful. Having hot meals really made the difference. The rooms were clean. Slightly overpriced last minute but, but if you plan a few days in advance they weren't bad. Loved that they accepted dogs. And had a grass area dedicated for them.

Very nice motel in Flagstaff. I have no complaints. The service was excellent. The room was very clean and modern. The pool area was well kept and clean. We stayed on a holiday weekend and they raised the normal rate by $100 which is understandable. However, I talked with a lady in the pool that booked two months in advance and received the regular rate. I only booked two weeks in advance. All in all, it was a good experience. We rented two rooms, one for me and my husband and the other (a suite) for our son and his family. We were all happy with the accommodations.

I love this place. I love the idea of all their amenities in the room. Its pretty smart to use less plastic containers even in their breakfast, I noticed they used a yogurt dispenser instead of individually packed! Its a very clean hotel and decent breakfast. Attendants are very friendly, also very clean. Most of their employees are very friendly even the housekeeping team greets you with a big smile. And the lady at the front desk was very helpful I believed her name is Sam as my husband mentioned it to me how she have helped him with the walk-in check in. We'll definitely stay here again if we ever be back in the area!

We got great rooms, nicely appointed. They do need to increase the number of rooms that they have for disabled people, ie walk in showers. We required one but they only had one which was already occupied. Would be nice if they had guest laundry facilities there, rather than having to go down the street to a laundromat. A bar would have been nice too, somewhere to sit & relax over a wine. Overall, a lovely place and their breakfast sausages were delicious. Employees were very lovely. Thanks ladies.

We got a room after traveling all day and it was fantastic! The bed was super comfortable, the shower was great with plenty of hot water, Wi-Fi worked wonderful and the complimentary breakfast was awesome. The food was hot and very tasty, lots of choices. Our room was a great value. I would definetly stay there again in a heartbeat! We did not check out the pool area/hot tub area so I can't say anything but I would recommend this place to stay!

Rooms are small and walls are thin, you can hear everything going on in the rooms next to you. No elevator, so if you have luggage take only what you need. There is a BNSF double main line across the street from the hotel, trains pass by every 15 to 20 minutes, 24 hours a day, suggest requesting lower floor, back of the building as far from the tracks as possible. We didn't sleep more than 1 hour all night, between the trains and the couple in the next room. Breakfast was passable, biscuits were cold, eggs were cold, the coffee, bacon, and potatoes were out when we arrived at 8:00 am, (opens at 6:30) they eventually brought more out, only after I had finished eating. Fruits were good and fresh, sausage gravy was warm and tasty, I will not be staying here again.

For us optimally. Room and cleanliness ok.

Good: Clean rooms, dog friendly (20$ fee), good service, good prices, good location, very well maintained grounds and a nice dog poop area with actual grass. Bad: slow internet (5mbit symmetric per device), poor light and sound proofing. Woke my husband and I up at 5:00 am as a result. I suggest choosing a room on the west side if you can and as far as possible from the vending machines (people filling up their coolers at the ice machine is loud).

We stayed in room 142 with our kids and dog. No carpet! Awesome idea wish all pet friendly hotels has tile floors for pets! Pillows were small but comfy breakfast was good! Nice little budget friendly hotel.

Stayed at the Best Western after visiting Northern Arizona University. Decent sized rooms for 2 beds plus other options for rooms if you ask. Bathrooms are a little wired but functional. Good Tv/ channels and ok Wi-Fi.

It was great! We came to visit for the weekend and the rooms were nothing less of clean with a pretty awesome staff and not to forget the complimentary continental breakfast. Can't go wrong with waffles!

Great place staff nice just got here staying 4 days great room could seat 6 comfortably with foldout couch and bed and foldout bed huge kind bed lots of room would also be great with 1-4 people microwave and fried 2 tvs order early booked out on spring break glad we ordered early overall great price and place much better than other places we've stayed I give it 6 stars out of 5

Good, cheap room, breakfast was good. Orange juice was meh though. Which is big for me because I love orange juice. All in all would recommend.

Rooms are amazing, alot of space, comfy beds, awesome in winyer for playing, friendly staff.

They say indoor pool and hot tub, but what they don't say is that it is separate from the motel. You have to walk outside, which isn't all bad unless you are there duting a snowstorm and have to walk outside soaking wet.

Standard best western. Ask for the top floor. Floor/ceiling thin.

A great value. The rooms are ok, clean but a bit on the older side. Typical of these older motor inns. The breakfast is perfect. Eggs, waffles, cereal, danishes, fruit, toast, yogurt juice, coffe, tea.

Very unsanitary… Saw a kid throwing up in and around the pool and the next morning all they did is wipe up around the pool. It is against any regulations not to drain a pool and for not using proper cleaning techniques by OSHA… Would never come back to that place that takes short cuts like that. Also, general manager needs to go. After sending him the same review he just said "sorry, hope next time will be better"… It was a careless response!

Checked in in the middle of the night for a few hours sleep. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, breakfast was delicious.

What a pleasant surprise this hotel was. Fluffy, soft bath towels. Perfect sheets, very clean. Free breakfast was great; eggs, potatoes with peppers. Fresh fruit and more. Highly recommend this hotel.

How did this place ever get Best Western PLUS status? Renovated. Yes, but it's kind of a shotty job. And the entire place smells like REALLY old hotel and the hotel/room layout doesn't make sense. And what's up with the $20 pet fee? The last Best Western Plus pet fee was $8. We won't be staying here again. PS — there's no elevator.

Front desk women was very kind and helpful. Was stuck in the air from California and couldn't make reservation, also could not call since I was in the air. Hotel Manager, Scott, was very condescending, unhelpful, and rude. He was not willing to help in any sort of way and acted like sending me a receipt of the room charge was him doing me a favor. I will never book travel here again or recommend anyone to stay there.

Decent little hotel for a get away. Not great but not bad at all. Right by the front and had no trouble with road or rail noise.

Amazing staff. Hot tub and pool. Breakfast and not that continental but some hot food. But no bacon. Great stay and ski packages. Pillows were legit.

Omg peeps! common sense. I have been to Flagstaff enough to know the area. I have stayed on both sides. For the noise complainers. There's a Four Seasons just down in the valley. AND YES, I've stayed in plenty of those too to know the difference. If that's pushing it, you can stay over on the southwest corner of town going in from the valley side. MOST of us know that we are bargain shopping when we stay in one of these, so with that said, you can't make your entire post a noise downer for a $70/night place to stay when everything else is decent enough FOR THAT PRICE. I've even stayed at the Travelodge and that is much worse. Still, I don't gripe of the shortcomings knowing what I paid for it. You have to expect it, right? that's where the common sense part comes in. With that said, this is a good place to sleep and take off to the mountain the next morning. Oh, and be thankful that the tracks are noise bearing tracks made to absorb the shock/noise of the train carts.

This hotel is wonderful! My husband had a giant uhaul he was driving, and not accustomed to driving, and they had an employee help him park. The guy that checked us in was super friendly and efficient. We were traveling with an infant and they provided a pack and play for her at no extra charge. The room was nice and very clean. It was also a great temperature considering how hot it was outside! The breakfast is really good and the employee in charge of it kept it very clean and stocked. My husband wished they would have had bacon but that was the only complaint. They also gave us a newspaper and an extra laundry bag when we asked. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL! If we are ever in Flagstaff again we will stay here.

We stayed in their pet friendly room on 6-26-14. We enjoyed our stay, the good points are that the rooms are clean and the beds really comfy. Previous reviews mentioned train noise but we never heard any. Other good points are that they have a cute dog area in the back complete with a fire hydrant and little poop bags for clean up. The pool was heated and also nice. The breakfast was really good, they had waffles, eggs, sausage and potatoes, fruit, yogurt and cereal. If I had to say anything was not great it would be the location of the room which was down a low ceiling hallway and in a odd alcove-just a bit creepy but Im easily creeped out. We would stay again.

We have stayed in a family apartment with 2 rooms. One had a king bed, the other 2 queens. The room was very spacious and clean although a little bit outdated. The staff was very friendly and professional. Breakfast was ok — nice choice of sausages, scrambled eggs, pancakes and fruits with a natural yogurt. The only down side of it was a railway just across the street with noisy cargo trains. But it didn't bothered us because we were very tired and slept like babies.

This place is nice! I'm in the room as I write this, a suite. Love it! Comfortable, clean, spacious, NICE place! We travel through flagstaff a lot and have tried a lot of hotels in town, and this is one of my favorites so far. I was a little nervous about the train tracks but I don't hear ANYTHING. No other guests, no train, no car doors slamming. It's quiet and a great place to stay with the family.

Good price with good rooms with air conditioning and cable tv, breakfast and free Wi-Fi. And if you don't have mobile or tablet in reception have android tablets.

We arrived late in the evening just wanting a bed for the night. The staff were polite and helpful, and got us a room quickly and efficiently. The room was small, but for a quick overnight that's fine. However the constant road and rail noise, plus the paper thin walls mean that any but the heaviest sleepers will have a disturbed nights sleep. Probably one to avoid unless you're desperate.
