This is a great lodge. Beautiful with great food and amazing views. Perfect for viewing Denali mountain which was visible 2 days! Totally enjoyed this visit. Shuttle takes you short ride into historic town.

Wow this place is awesome! The grounds are beautiful and have a few walking trails going all around them so you can enjoy the scenery. The back deck also has amazing views of the mountains! The rooms are very nice, clean and modern feeling. Only complaint is there is no AC so if you stayed on s hot day you might be in trouble. Excellent hotel and excellent experience overall would highly recommend this place.

The rooms are very comfortable, most with breathtaking views of the Alaskan mountain range, and Denali when they clouds cooperate. Dining at the Foraker was fabulous, with great service and excellent food. The crab fondue was especially tasty!

We travel alot, mostly stay in big name places. Took a recommendation from a local. Absolutely loved this place!

I’m not sure how this lodge has a 4.4 rating given the lack of amenities, incredibly outdated rooms (even on the “renovated” side) and minimal F&B options. With the impressive views of Denali, I would hope the lodge would take advantage of the opportunity to truly offer a premier experience for its guests given its price point. Don’t be fooled.

Rustic lobby is impressive with massive stone fireplace and gorgeous view. Standard room was serviceable at best. A bit overpriced given the stripped down amenities available.

The best lodge/hotel during our 9 day tour of Alaska. Talkeetna is the best town of flight seeing to Denali.

Best view in town! Awesome coffee at the gift shop, which has many Silver Hand authentic Alaskan made art and hand made goodies like no where else!

This was by far the nicest hotel of my two weeks tour of Alaska. The room was large, with a fridge. Some of the pictures below were taken through the window of my room. Mount Denali was visible on this day, and keep in mind, the mountain is about 120 miles away! I then sat on the back deck and took photos as the sun set behind Mount Denali. Service was impeccable as was the food in the restaurant on site. Parking is plentiful.

My most favorite place on our 17 days in Alaska. Unbelievable views, we had exceptional weather our 2 days there and literally took 100's of great pictures. Food was very good and the entire staff tremendous.

Stayed in March before the rush. Amanda, Kathy, and the whole crew were super nice. The food is yummy too… try the sourdough pancakes! We were lucky and the clouds cleared… spectacular views of Denali!

Loved the lodge it was beautiful and loved the food in the restaurant The beet salad was delicious I would love the recipe. The restaurant staff were very nice. The views were breathtaking. We were on a land and sea tour with royal Caribbean and we only stayed one night would have liked to stay another night but we had to move on to keep on schedule. Maybe we will get to go back one day.

We visited the lodge because we heard the Denali views are spectacular. As you drive up to the main Lodge and look into the lobby, the windows see clear through to the other side and off to Denali. We all clambored out and made our way to the back side and took pictures. My only disappointment is how big the mountains look in real life, pictures just don't do justice. The lodge has row after row of rooms all sharing this fantastic view. The lodge covers several acres of land and is a gorgeous and modern hideaway from the rest of the world.

Stayed here for a corporate retreat and quite enjoyed the place! The room was clean and well appointed and the property is well maintained and very open. I would be quite pleased if we went there again!

Wonderful place to stay, great people that work there. Food is tasty and clean rooms along with bathrooms. So many opportunities to do activities such as Fly tour, river rafting, zip lines are just a few. Trails all over the property that is peaceful, and we'll maintained. Enjoyed talking with the staff that is all over the world to contribute to make this Lodge one of a kind while in Alaska.

The lodge is beautiful. I went to take out of state relatives sight seeing and the drive was definitely worth it on a beautiful day. The hotel staff seemed friendly for the most part, but the restaurant staff did not seem thrilled to have to serve a larger party of guests. I ordered confit duck salad, and it was plated beautifully. However, a few bites into it I found hard things in the duck that I assumed to be slivers of bone. It took a while for the waitress to check on us, and everyone else had nearly finished their meal. When she did see me though, she got me another menu and I ordered a super delicious salmon burger.

I am having a good time. This place is awesome! As a suggestion it would have been nice to have a queen size beds! For me the beds are to small. I had to sleep in bed and my husband slept in the other.

Room was comfortable, nice beds & linens, good blackout curtains for the long hours of daylight. Convenient laundry rooms available for guest use ($2 wash, $1.75 dry, $2 detergent). Only ate breakfast, buffet replenishment slow but quality of food high. Nice seating areas in each wing. Beautiful views and grounds.

We went here as part of a cruise tour. We fell in love with the place. There are spectacular view of mount Denali from the back of the hotel, the resort is beautiful, restful and well maintained, there are great trails everywhere, and it is a short shuttle ride or walk to town. The room was quite spacious and comfortable with great beds, a refrigerator, and good coffee. The view from the room was looking out over the lawn with the lodge as a back drop and mountains beyond. It has great trails all around the hotel which are well maintained and easy to walk. There is plenty of wildlife about. The walk to town is 1.5 miles with a gentle slope and good path so easy to do, but there is a shuttle until late afternoon if you prefer. I would definitely go back to this place if in the area and was my favorite place of anywhere in Alaska. Love it!

Absolutely wonderful hotel. The service was great, the view was amazing, it was relaxing and beautiful. The food was quite wonderful as well. Would love to spend a week there. So peaceful.

Really beautiful area, well kept rooms and outside, nice hiking trails nearby, and great service! Although the "gym" is quite small, everything else about this hotel was amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed it, would return.

NOT disabled friendly… We booked through a travel agency and told them to tell hotels that we need a close room. We'll, they put us at the very end on the second floor… And we couldn't upgrade… all they did was offer a wheel chair for one person, when we have 3 disabled people! I wish we could get our money back or book at another hotel in town! DO NOT COME HERE!

This is the most expensive hotel stay we have ever had ($415 per night) — — and NOT worth it. Upgraded to a mountain view room as part of a train/lodge/bus trip from Denali to Talkeetna and back. Mountain view room was 217 which overlooks a huge deck that overlooks the mountain range. Yes, we could see the mountains in the clouds, but everyone on this quite popular viewing deck could also see us, so no privacy or sipping coffee in your bath robe. Spoiled the romantic intent of this birthday present for my husband. They should make the two rooms directly over the deck into small conference rooms, not private rooms. Shuttle service from train was confusing. Two vans there with lodge name on them-but nothing to designate that one was for a private tour where we were rudely redirected. No air conditioning was surprising for the price. Also, Wi-Fi was pitiful. Wifi turned off every time you switched websites or cut off every 10 minutes or so and you had to log back in. In contrast, the free Wi-Fi at most of the local pubs just worked. The only really nice part about our stay at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge was eating at the Foraker Restaurant, writing a separate review for their excellence.

Very nice lodging. The view is spectacular! Very close to downtown Talkeetna. Would highly recommend.

Great views, great warm lodge.

Beautiful all around. Only issue was that for a simple turkey sandwich I was charged $16 per sandwich… it was 9 in the store. A little ridiculous.

Excellent service from hotel staff and from the servers at the on-site restaurant.

Wonderful view of Denali. Great grassy hill for kids to play. Good restaurant with friendly staff, but slow. Lobby is so nice with beautiful fireplace always roaring. Nice small gift shop with hit or miss espresso drinks. Young, usually friendly staff. Our room did not get cleaned one day. There is reliable free shuttle service every 30 minutes to town, which is 2 miles away. Tiny fitness room with one treadmill, one stair machine, and one hand barbell set. No bench or similar experience equipment. The rooms, bathrooms, and hallway construction are very basic, like a midrange motel, but clean. No pool. Not enough seating outside to enjoy the view. Nice hiking trails with map. Large comfy second lobby area with lots of board games.

I hated it, I was an employee who got fired for being late 2 weeks before my final day on my contract. When you complete your contract you get a bonus, they fired many people at the end of the season to avoid this! Also, I am no longer allowed on property, I was treated like a dog on the street, I still have a video game and a couple dvds at the lodge. When I called and asked about them the Rooms & Divisions manager Matt told me "Sounds like a personal problem, don't ever call front desk again" so I didn't I wrote this review instead. If you want to work in Alaska DON"T pick this place. Although, if you want to stay for a weekend at the lodge, go for it, they treat their customers like royalty not the employees!

My name is Brandon and I worked at the Tour Desk at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge for the summer of 2015. At first, this lodge was a great operation, I enjoyed the work at the Tour Desk very much. Booking people on really amazing flight and river tours. The guests are as human as the employees. However, management is very strange. The managers Chris, Sara, and Marissa are always uptight and whining about the stupidest things you can imagine. They can be very unreasonable and they keep on treating employees like third-class citizens… this is a wilderness lodge not the Titanic. Many of the employees (e. G. Bell Staff, front desk staff, shuttle drivers) experience this as well. It gets extremely annoying and it makes the job really stressful. I respected them as managers but got very tired of the I am so superior, demeaning behavior. And they need to focus on managing this lodge, on realistically practical things rather than whining about stupid things. For example, I just had Chris come to me complaining like a child today about me having a Gatorade or soda that helps re hydrate after talking to guests so much selling tours… It is a great lodge, great layout and scenery, good food, bad restaurant management on almost every internet review. Talking to guests and employees is like talking to down-to-earth, realistic people, but management with the exception of Amanda and perhaps Matt, is like speaking to unreasonable kindergartners.

My husband and I stayed here for a night. What a nice place. The rooms are modern but very warm and lovely. You have an option to take an trail or bike down to downtown. The staff is very friendly. If you are going towards Denali National Park, I would recommend to stay a night at the lodge before heading down to Denali.

Over priced, no A/C. absolutley not worth it.
