Fantastic. Rooms and facility are super clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. I'm so very glad I chose this hotel over the other "newer" and "bigger" chains. Beds were very clean and comfy too. Parking great. Less crowded hotel.

This was the nicest exterior entrance motel I’ve ever stayed in. The room and bed was very clean and comfortable. The pool was warm and clean. The area is safe and inviting. It is a very convenient location — very close to expressway and a short, easy commute to the University of Alabama. Hot and cold complimentary breakfast had many choices and all of it was prepared well and presented well. We have already booked our next stay for our next trip back. Highly recommend this Bear Western.

The rooms are nice enough though the furniture has some obvious wear on it, everything was clean which is what mattered to me the most. The water when I went rinse out my mouth after brushing my teeth tasted awful though so definitely don't drink that. The breakfast was pretty sub-par but I've also seen worse. Don't expect the food to taste super great here. The cleaning service did a nice job with the room while we were gone and it was nice to come back to the room after a very long day. It's a decent place to stay for a quick night or two just don't expect anything too overwhelmingly great.

The staff here is friendly. Everyone was professional from making the reservation to check out. The front desk staff was knowledgeable about the area and helped me find things to do. Breakfast was good and hot. The room was clean and well furnished. My only minor inconvenience was that to get to the hotel you have to go through a restaurant parking lot.

So far, from what my wife and I have seen that our room was quiet and the King sized bed made our night an enjoyable stay! Another great hotel chain! Respectfully, Michael DelRossi.

The staff at the front desk has been amazing. We moved here from Ohio and had a TERRIBLE experience with nasty staff and bed bugs at WoodSpring Suites. The people at Best Western University Inn have bent over backwards to make sure we always had a place to stay. The maintenance guy is amazing and even helped fix my car! Definitely a good place to stay! The rooms and bathroom were clean, just wish the bathroom was a little bigger.

Had been driving for hours and it was getting close to 2 am. We stopped here and the hostess greeted us friendly. Accommodating us needing a first floor room. Room was clean and very comfortable. Excellent place to stay. Highly recommended.

Good location within 7 minutes of campus. Very clean and efficient staff. Comfortable beds. Breakfast was passable. Quiet which is surprising given its on busy MacFarland Blvd. Would recommend.

When we checked in Thursday night the girl was excellent. The breakfast was very good. Im sure the rest of the time will be nice. We are here from Iowa to watch girls college softball.

Staff here was friendly and courteous. Our room was clean and comfortable. While we didn't take advantage of breakfast, it looked good. We were only there for one night so we didn't do any sightseeing. We would stay there again.

Needed a place to rest and we got a room that wasn't comfortable at all for the price. Told them next morning, they said should of asked for the better bed. Breakfast was awesome.

The Inn is pet friendly with a good place for dinner within walking distance. The staff were very friendly and competent. Breakfast was very good in an attractive hotel lobby.

We had a wonderful stay in Tuscaloosa. Rooms were very clean and the staff was incredible. Would stay each time we came to town.

This was a very nice lower priced hotel. They let us keep our dog for a nominal fee. It is an easy on/off the highway. Staff, for the most part, was friendly. The only problem we had was noise from the highway. This could be easily fixed if an AC/Heater unit was installed with the option for a constant fan. The on and off of th AC was disruptive to sleep.

This is NOT a 3 star hotel. Rooms in need of basic repair (cracked tiles, damp carpeting), housekeeping is marginal (broken clock radio, coffee maker needed cleaning) and both room keys were inactivated (even though they were stored in different locations, so my cell phone was NOT the culprit). I get the whole football weekend supply/demand pricing, but deep down you have to ask how a $89 hotel on Thursday can demand $350 on Saturday. Was it worth that? Nope. Not staying there again.

Great place to stay! We were in town for a football game and didn't get to the hotel to check in until 1:15am. It was an older hotel but rooms were very clean, beds were comfortable! The front desk lady was awesome! Wish we could've stayed longer, with it being a late game and not getting to bed until 2:30am we missed breakfast! Would highly recommend! Looking to stay here again if we can get a room!

Don't be alarmed by the outside appearance, this hotel is very nice. The rooms are very clean and good size. The breakfast has many choices. Very good stay.

The hotel is newly remodled. The staff and guests were very welcoming and friendly. This is a Pet Friendly hotel and there is ample room for pets to run around on the backside of the hotel. The pool is nice and clean, although one of the ladders out is missing a foot.

Rooms where very nice, clean and fresh. Pool was nice but the! table and the chairs badly needed replacing. The main walkway has a tree that needs to be cut back, you have to duck under it get to the rooms. Some of the air conditioners dump water onto the walkways. Overall, I would not hesitate to stay here again.

The rooms are clean and modern but the drain plug would not keep water in the tub to take a bath. Otherwise I would stay again for the fire college I am attending. It was a huge plus having a good hot breakfast with lots of options provided complimentary. The location is also great being located next to the nearest off ramp.

Easy access from the freeway. Clean hotel. Doors open to the outside. Walking distance to eating places. Near University of Alabama's campus. Good breakfast and they have bacon along with sausage!

For the past 16 years my family and I have stayed at the Best Western in Tuscaloosa during football season — September through November. This was like a second home and we considered the old staff family. During a stay in October we received a phone call during a game asking why we had not vacated our room. My husband asked them what they were talking about and they said we were only booked for one night. He explained it must be a mistake since they had a 2 night minimum stay requirement. My husband and the desk clerk continued to talk and the clerk told him they had already booked the room to someone else and would be packing up our items. We rode to the game with another couple so we had no transportation to leave the game. The desk clerk called back and said they had found us another room and would place our things in that room. Once back to the room, we went to our new room only to discover it was a smoking room. We went back to the desk to complain and they said no it wasn't a smoking room — did I mention the ash tray in the room! We had no choice but to stay in the room. During football season we pay $298.99 a night but for the additional night we were charged $379.49. Also, since we complained to the new manager, she just asked us not to come back as we were no longer welcome. We finished the season and made sure we had a two night stay for the remaining games. For the Auburn game, they charged us $310.49 per night.

Three generations of my family have been staying here for years and years. It is a great place with terrific, caring staff. Feels like a much more expensive place than it is. The free breakfast is great, and O'Charlie's is there for everything else. Super family-friendly but also quiet! Love them!
