Finally a beautiful and good steak in Zanzibar! super dj's deep house, exceptional place. Great my new headquarters for the holidays.

Upendo is a must-visit destination restaurant/bar/boutique hotel on the South East coast of the island. Everything is superb, from the chic decor, delicious menu offering, fantastic beachfront location and friendly staff. If you choose to stay over, I would highly recommend booking one of the gorgeous ocean view villas which each have their own private pool, outdoor lounge and views to die for. Upendo is suitable for couples, groups or families wanting a unique Zanzibar stay. Can't wait to go back!

Beautiful place with the best view on the center Stone town. The staff is friendly and compliant. We ordered coffee with friends and it was served in a big cup
to me personally very nicely furnished modern but still slightly African. We have some pictures from the top of the terrace. Very nice  

Nice Beachbar, cool people, lovely DJ. But the staff is a little confused. I waited nearly 1 1/2 for a simple burger.

It’s a very special place to spend the day… you can take the sun, swim in the swimming pool and eat something… the food is very good and it costs much less than the near “ The Rock”… I suggest to take the mixed grilled seafood.

Such a lovely place. Lovely staff. Everyone was so attentive and helpful. It's a great location if you want to chill. Bit quiet when but that is fine as just want to relax. Food was great and good value-for-money.

Very nice resort. Amazing pool. Rooms are spacious and modern. Nice music playing throughout the public areas gives it a nice vibe.

We came here after a few nights at the Park Hyatt, for double the price. What a downgrade. The website and reviews got our expectations high, we paid an exorbitant price for 3 nights and sadly I can't say it was worth it. The premise was minimal, ordinary and basic, would not associate elegant and 'boutique' with this place at all. Much more of an upscale backpackers lodge, very chilled out vibes. Sadly disappointed as the photos and descriptions were not parallel with our stay.

Upendo is a little piece of paradise… great vibe, delicious food and lovely staff. The perfect place to chill. Why all the fuss about The Rock? Come and look at it if you must, but do so from Upendo where a 5 star experience awaits you…

What a beautiful place! The minute you walk in you just feel yourself relax! The staff are lovely and friendly! Our villa was just amazing! So happy to have spent our last few days in Zanzibar here! Highly recommended.

Lovely place with great views we were treated very nice. But a problem my son family and I had money taken from the two different safes in the hotel.

Great variety of reasonably priced food — perfect also for a light lunch by the beach. Service is good and they have large tables that can accommodate groups. The biggest plus for us were the two super friendly dogs!

Fabulous food great value.

Peter, Jeni and the team (particularly Salim) were so lovely and attentive to us. They made us feel entirely at home, made sure we were comfortable and went above and beyond to make the entire stay relaxing and fun. Our villa (Kusum) was beautifully furnished, with an excellent rooftop pool to ourselves and wide open sand leading us from our doorstep to the pristine ocean. All the little details like linens, bath products, coffee and tea accessories felt custom selected to give the villa a unified look and feel. The kitchen turned out wonderful food for all meals, including very nice juices and cocktails. Top notch across the board. Thank you again to Peter, Jeni, Salim and team!

We stayed at the Beach House (9 pers) and had a great time; stuff was very friendly, food was excelent. We can highly recommend it to groups and families. Everyone had enough space for relaxing.

Upendo is a beautiful place with the best view on the island by far! The staff is super friendly and kind and the food is amazing! Especially if yoir vegetarian, so many delicious options! Definitely my second home and best place to hang out on Sundays for sure ;) :)!

What a brilliant small boutique hotel. Full of character, great staff, great vibe. Everybody makes you feel very welcome. Villas have amazing view and a nice 'Ibiza' style. Food is outstanding and varied. The bar area is open to everyone and good fun. 100% recommended!

The atmosphere is relaxing. The view is amazing. The food is good and they have a big variety of cocktails. Internet is fast. Staff is very friendly and professional. Some hangers could be added in the bathroom and more water pressure in the shower.
