Delightful expeience for my birthday celebration at Grand Palace hotel on 8th April in a chinese restaurant with nice view, good food varieties and warm atmosphere of Palace decoration. Thank you Ester Tsai, restaurant manager for her great customer service to sing birthday song for me.

Good ambience and location. Delicious food and dessert. Health and safety protocol is very much appreciated.

I stayed in a suite room. Spacious and neat. The balcony size is sheer luxury. Amenities were great. Was able to catch the sunrise in the morning.

Very grand and historic hotel and restaurant. The view is excellent and could overlook the whole Taipei, seeing the sunset and night view. Food is standard and good quality. The sticky rice is good The dessert red bean cake is excellence. Worth to go at least once to experience the higher standard environment. Completely different from night market food.

Beautiful hotel with significant contribution to Taiwan's history. Staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. Hotel rooms are amazing and the views are breathtaking. Can potentially get a view of the river and Taipei 101. Also has many excellent restaurants within serving high quality and authentic Chinese food.

Very beautiful hotel. HOWEVER I can't give it a 5 for a couple reasons. The first night we got dinner at small restaurant at the hotel. Everything was great and the manager was very attentive until the end when we got our bills and change. My friend at our table got the incorrect amount of change returned to her. We explained to the manager and they did not want to believe us. Finally we got the right change back and they were then very cold towards us as we left. The next night we returned to the lounge and the same manager was working. He sat us right near the front saying it was the only table he had but all of the other tables were empty. He continued to be very rude to us unlike the night before when he was so attentive. We were very upset with how rude he acted towards us. After attending happy hour we left not wanting to ever see that man again. The food at the hotel is very overpriced and it isn't even amazing tasting. Not impressed. One morning I also ordered room service and got cold sausage with my waffles. I did get this charge taken off. Very nice hotel but could use a couple different improvements.

This hotel was really nice, and they had a free shuttle from the bus station. They also brought our bags up to our room, and our room was very spacious, and even had a balcony! All the amenities were provided, and the rooms were clean. Would definitely stay here again.

I recommended by colleague to stay there, but horrors, he woke up in the middle of the night to find his room dripping with water from the air condition duct in the room corridor, the hotel sent someone up to fix it, spent over an hour++ servicing the room (all this at 2am! ) no offer of a change in room and no mention of any form of compensation on check out. In this day and age where a B&B can provide better service. This is unacceptable! Coming from an iconic hotel. You should remove the word "Grand" as you do not deserve it!

From the grand Station to take a free shuttle bus, directly to the hotel entrance, the vehicle only 5 minutes.
The glorious history of the hotel, looking at the distance is a special design of the building, approached to see the bright red looks more stylish. The road next to the hotel can lead to the Shan of the sword, which is very convenient.

Looks much better from faraway than near or inside (a bit old, they should refresh inside). But that hotel still amazing beautiful in that green environment, on that small hill. A bit pricy for the quality.

This hotel is a great option to get the full Taipei experience while not staying in too expensive a location. It's a beautiful hotel with picturesque views inside and out. Great views of Taipei from the windows, especially if it's a clear day. The room wasn't exceptional (and unfortunately they were painting down the hall that week, so the scent wafted in), but the staff was very helpful and the overall experience was great. The breakfast buffet was tasty and had endless options, so was a good place to start the day. Strongly recommend!

This hotel is grand. What a lobby! Nicely decorated with several restaurants available. View from the second level is gorgeous. Nice live music too. The room we had was on the small side but nice decor. Enjoyed our stay there.

Unlike any other hotel in Taipei. Decorated in traditional Chinese style with lots of red, and indeed a very 'grand' hotel. Service is excellent and staff willing and able to help with whatever is needed. Various restaurants and bars on site as well as small shops. Location is not the most convenient, but the grandeur and service of the hotel make up for it.

Beautiful place, Taipei icon, buffet food with lots of variety and very rich and cute desserts. Nice atmosphere of live music in the afternoon. The staff in the lobby were very friendly and helpful.

Went to the Grand Hotel for the afternoon tea buffet and was very pleased with the experience. The price isn't too cheap (equivalent of about $25 USD) but it's well worth the price as there's heaps of many different varieties of food, Western and Asian, as well as many vegetarian options and loads of desserts. The staff are super friendly and attentive, and most can speak English very well. Afterward, you can walk around the hotel lobby and check out the small hotel museum on the second floor.

Went for the afternoon tea buffet and it was decently good. However, they said that you needed a reservation in order to get in, but it wasn't even close to full. Otherwise, the service is great and most of the food that's good. One caveat though is that my wife are a lot of the seafood there and had a mild case of food poisoning the next morning so just be careful.

The hotel is beautiful but the staff is very rude.
The rooms are ageing, especially at the level of the water parts.
The value for money is disastrous even if the main building is superb outside and in the entrance hall.
The place is visiting for free. Must see, but opt for one of the other 5 * hotels to sleep in. The service is so much higher.

I went to the all you can eat buffet. The food is good. The price is decent. The coffee is excellent. The decor is beautiful. They have live music in the lobby. The place is busy but the wait was not too long. On the second floor, there are historical photos of important people that have visited the hotel.

One of Taiwan's most iconic buildings and an important landmark in Taipei, it is said that the earth is seen from outer space as a building that can be distinguished by the naked eye. The early days of the Japanese-era Taiwan shrine, after the takeover of Taiwan by the Government of the Republic of China, renamed the Yuanshan Grand Hotel.
It was the site of Taiwan's early use to welcome international important foreign guests. Thick red and yellow color matching Chinese main style, carved beams's gorgeous palace, by the ancient Royal Majestic Hall, the pattern is square, protruding in the Taipei Basin, in the excellent Feng shui location, hotel buildings using a lot of dragon carving, there is longgong a call. The 2 secret lanes exposed by the Yuanshan Hotel in 2006 were used to protect the heads of state of Chiang Jiang and the administrative officers at home and abroad, and to give the building more mysterious imagination.
The dense road is shaped as a spiral-like slide, narrow and long. The recent multi-corner operation, often exhibited.
The sound exhibition is one of them. The hotel has a fixed shuttle bus to and from the city, the most convenient and frequent location is MRT Yuanshan Station, about every 30 minutes. And MRT Jian Tam station is only at night.

The service was very good, but the roast beef rib eye was overcooked, the meat taste is powdery, steamed fish is also the same, can feel is thawed fish, flavor total loss, vegetarian area is a variety of dishes, dessert area refinement to be strengthened, the most astonishing is to eat, incredibly ran out of a big mouse, the next table of Korean tourists frighten unceasingly, To the size of the Grand hotel, this is an incredible thing.

As hotel is great tourist place but the comforts of the rooms let you want. The restaurants are very good.

Food was good. Wifi there was strong but reception can be weak in some areas. The decorations were very Chinese in its influence.

The hotel architecture is very special, but it's just so old (as in very dated and smelly, needs a good overhaul). Buffet is average, hygiene was questionable and it is way over priced.

It's famous thanks to the design mixture of traditional Chinese and modern high floor hotel. We passed by it a few times but not have enough time to get inside… good to combine with Martyr's Shine trip.

I'd lived in Taiwan for a year and had heard of this place, but never had the opportunity to visit. Twenty years later, I needed to stay in Taipei, and decided to book a room here. Many of the rooms are interior and do NOT have windows. The rooms are beautifully laid out and even the windowless rooms are nice. The grounds of the hotel are spacious and very pretty. If you get the chance, spend an early morning hike around the grounds. You won't be sorry.

Top end hotel in Taipei Taiwan. It's usually the place for national scale conferences or annual celebration for corporations. It offers best feast and luxurious accommodation.

Very unique place, but traffic is a bit inconvenient to!

The room is large, will not have a stiff feel, the inside design is very modern, and there is no lack of comfortable.

Great to stay at this Taipei landmark. Very nice hotel and friendly staff. Good shuttle bus to and from the MRT. Lots of dining options, but rather expensive. Our room had a damp musty smell. I did not like that on The Agoda website, 'a sauna, steam room and pool' are listed as hotel facilities but they are located next door and you need to pay over NT $400 everytime you wish to use them. Overall a good experience and we had fun.
