Geneva Hostel Hostel

I stayed for more than 12 days (not consecutive), the hostel is great, the lobby, room, spreads, breakfast and travel card which they give for free to travel throughout Geneva. Rooms are spacious and airy with the lockers facility it is simply LOVE!

Went with a school group. Friendly, helpful staff, clean accommodation and fantastic breakfast. Prime location too — short walk or tram ride to city centre.

Noise! Out of control noisey guests every night. Facilities are decent but bedding is awful. Only worth it if you don’t want to sleep.

Superb place to stay in Geneva. I like this hostel the most & it was the best among others I had ever stayed. Very specious place & latest locker for free. You'll also get free travel pass during your stay in Geneva although it is given by the transport authority. Very near from all the tourist attractions & short waking distance from the romantic Geneva lake.

They do cram beds in but I guess you get what you pay for and it is a cheap and cheerful hostel with friendly staff and actually quite comfy beds. The place is clean and the showers are good. The breakfast is basic but there is plenty to fill yourself up on. When looking for a cheap place to stay in Geneva this is a good option!

Good Hostel. Meals are pretty good at an affordable rate, rooms at 50 euros a night for 6. The toilets and showers outside the rooms are clean and modern. The hotel also has a playroom with a TELEVISION and tables. Despite all this the curfew is not always respected and we can hear noise until 1am.

A nice place to stay in Geneva if you are looking for a budget hotel. The room, bathroom, kitchen, restaurant area for breakfast and reception area are clean. Breakfast is served every morning in restaurant area from 07:00 am until 09:00 am. Check in starts at 2 pm and check out the latest at 10:00 am. Lockers to keep your luggage save are available in front of your room not in the room self. It's big enough to store a cabin size suitcase or even a normal suitcase. The reception staffs are very friendly and helpful. Don't forget to ask a free Geneva public transport card from the Reception as you are entitled to have it during your stay in Geneva.

Toilets and showers are clean (partly), the lobby and breakfast room are equipped in a modern way, overall very good look. Each bed has its own socket and lamp, but the rooms consist only of beds, tables or the like are missing! Breakfast in itself bulky, but sufficient. The lockers are unfortunately on the aisle, so personal luggage can only be stored outside the room, and in making rooms the W-lan is only moderately present. Absolutely impressive, the location is perfect in 2 min walk by the lake and about 15 min to the central locations, as well as free bus and tramm tickets, for school classes such as slightly more unpretentious Turis (designed for groups). (PS: You need your room card for everything)

The staff at reception were professional, the reception area has plenty of sitting spaces where you can relax while waiting. The hostel provides a locked luggage storage bin for early arrivals or late departures and for free. The room was clean with a private toilet. Shower area is in the hallway, was common but with adequate cubicles. There were adequate tables in the dining area, but we experienced long cue for breakfast. "Great value for money,

Great location in a lively and central neighborhood (Pâquis) near by the lake and the main train station. The hostel is quite big and the facilities are relatively clean. The worst part is the noise from the street and from inside as you can hear everything from the rooms, which by the way are quite basic. Overall good quality for price especially for Geneva!

Reminder: I'm giving it a four star review based on what it provides as a hostel. It is not a four star hotel and your expectations should be adjusted. Everything was okay. Nothing wrond stood out or bothered me. The room design is a bit old for a "youth" spirit. It is aptly located and has a good enough breakfast (again not so much in variety, and if its crowded you need to wait quite a while due to how they let people serve themselves — though this is not that big of a deal).

Good stay, I arrived past midnight and I was treated within a few minutes. Very friendly staff. Of the best prices in a city like Geneva, the hostel is about 10 minutes from the train station. Breakfast is acceptable, and little else. The bathrooms could be a little more careful.

Very clean, well decorated, and safe. The hostel had one of the most up-to-date personal lockers for baggage I have ever seen. Like other hotels/hostels in Geneva, they offer day passes on public transit when you check in. The price includes a free breakfast, but interestingly they also offer dinner onsite for a reasonable price. I cannot stress how safe it is with the police station right across the street.

Really good hostel. Clean and the facilities were very nice. Good central location and free travel card (as with all hotels/hostels in Geneva). Quality music provided by the main G, Ali Bamba alongside some local ladies for a cheap price anytime of the day. Gave it 1 star bc Alcohol is not for sale after 21:00 in the city.

We have been staying here for one night in a six person room. The room and the sheets were clean. It consisted only of three bunk beds and a window, which is sufficient for one night, but a table and a few chairs would probably be desirable for a longer stay. The bathrooms are shared in each floor and offer enough privacy with individual showering cabins. The included breakfast was very nice, although, since everyone had to pass through the buffet line without the chance to skip the two very slow coffee machines, there was quite a queue to get it which nearly made us miss our last possible tram. The location of the hostel is great, right at the city centre with only a ten minute walk to the main station in geneva.

Rooms are OK, as is breakfast. However, you hear quite a lot from the neighbours. The staff is friendly.

Quite small especially few toilets and shower otherwise ok.

Everything is at the top but it lacks a friendly space (including a real kitchen) and the price is a little too high for a hostel …

Nice hostel with a place to leave your bags if you arrive earlier than check-in. Wasn't too hard to find and there is a nice lounge area to do work and just hang out. There are giant lockers (big enough to fit my carry-on suitcase) outside of the rooms. You don't need to bring your own lock because your key card will open your own locker. Also, the bathrooms are set up in this way as well so only people living in the same area as you have access to it. They were extremely friendly and spent time to give me a map and circle all of the things I should definitely see before leaving.

December 31st was perfect book in this place just restrictions for the morning by 10 you have to leave the bed.

This Hostel is very unwelcoming to the travelers. Does not have flexibility to be named hostel. If you forget something (hat or gloves) it goes directly to trash. I have travel through whole Switzerland and if you forgot something in the bus or in cafe/bar you can come back after a month and still find. Breakfast is served in time when normal person/ traveler is sleeping. The whole place is all concrete and look like horror move. I don't recommend this place for normal (happy) person. This place is loved only by robots/psychopath.

This hostel is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are large and comes with a bathroom. Watch out for the shower head. It sprays like crazy and gets the floor soaking wet. Perfect location. It is close to great shops and restaurants. The lake is literally right around the corner. Just a short walk to the train. The breakfast at the hostel was good. I mean it wasn't a wide variety of food but what they had was delicious. I would say that the only draw back would be sharing the hostel with tons of young school students. And the front desk staff was a little rude. Overall I would still suggest staying at this hostel.

Hostel accessible by bus. Ideal place for young people. Not far from the station or the bath of the pâquis even less of the palaces of the Nations. Geneva transport card offered free of charge regardless of the length of stay.

10 minutes from the train station with key card for rooms, bathroom and locker, public transport for the duration of your stay, Wi-Fi, dinner and very helpful staff! Warm rooms and hot showers. The hostel was very nice and clean. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was really good! Definitely recommended if you're looking for something cheap in Geneva.

Couldn't decide whether to award 3 or 4 stars but have awarded 4 stars due to the great prices. Rooms were ok but a bit rough round the edges but well served for power sockets which was useful with 6 people in a room! The communal toilets were remarkably clean and I often saw them being cleaned but were a little dated. The eating area was extremely nice and well furnished. Just a shame more money hand not been put into the food which was a tad poor and very basic. Overall, a cheap and cheerful hostel where you get what you pay for. P. S, never be without your room card as you can't do anything without it!

The only difficult thing — the room is too hot! And when you cllose the window, absolutly no fresh air… All the other things are 5 stars!

Room was fine and also the reception and the lobby good. The public toilets were a bit disturbing because there was a lack of privacy there. It was also unpleasant that you needed the card for the toilets. Especially at night.

Shared rooms and communal bathrooms are expected from a hostel of course, fitting your own sheets, beds were comfortable and the bathroom area was always clean which is all good. I found the electricity from the mains was somehow lacking, devices charged very slowly. Food was good quality, breakfast was simple, hams, cheese, jam, bread and butter, cereal, yoghurts, apples etc, definitely enough to satisfy, you'd have to be down earlier if you want a good coffee though. Dinner was a little small, I found, but it was well made and tasted good so I found no reason to complain. A good experience, one of the better hostels I've stayed in. Public transport was fairly close and the hostel provided travel cards, not that they were checked, only a short walk to the lake so definitely a good location, don't expect a gorgeous view out of the window though.

Student rooms have fairly cramped rooms with small bunk beds but with a useful safe for storage. Other than a sink or two in the room it is necessary to cross the corridor to go to the toilet. Breakfast is fairly mediocre consisting of a couple of cereal and other basic foods and tea/coffee or orange juice. The hostel is located close to the city centre with is useful for getting a tram or finding somewhere to eat.

Rooms of the 6th floor were lovely with good facilities and a balcony. The place was very clean and the breakfast was good, if a limited choice. The bedsheets could be greatly improved from the current towel-like material. Generally a good stay.

There are beds and nothing else. However, it is half clean, as you are not allowed to take anything with you to the room, so you are not allowed to eat or drink. The location is not okay, because it is not far to Lake Geneva and to the main railway station.

Bedrooms all right, nothing special. So only suitable for sleeping. Not a particularly appealing environment but definitely satisfactory for overnight stays.

The hostel itself is good for the price. But living in a hostel is like opening a chocolate box, you'll never know what your next roommate is like. I came across a guy who smells like a rotten salmon smoked with tobacco and marinade in sweat for two years. The guy snored like crazy at night, and those snored from his big body had those low frequency that you cannot easily block by your hand. It penetrated and vibrated your body! Another guy at the same night come back at 2am. Every hostel should have a blacklist for those who disturbing others.

The place is tidy, and gives you enough space to store your belongings. There is however an excessive use of electronic key cards, as you need to bring it with you wherever you go, even in the bathroom. Prices are OK for Swiss standards, and staff on the whole are pleasant.

The food wasn't particularly great, but the building itself is quite nice and modern. There is also plenty of space to store your luggage: They have an underground storage room and next to each room there is a bunch of large lockers. There is also a nice outdoor area to sit. Some rooms have an absolutely beautiful view of the lake whereas some others have a pretty bad view. Overall it's not too bad and would recommend for people on a budget.

I stayed for one night, the hostel is excellent, with great lobby and breakfast and travel card included in the price. Conveniently located. Geneva was interesting, I visited around ten places, met up with my friend, consulted with a private banker and swam in Geneva lake in beginning of October.

Very clean, beds were comfy, plenty of locker space, showers were fantastic.
Breakfast was the only let down, and the kitchen was a little small, but other than that, would definitely recommend.

Rooms are comfortable but at the time very warm. Breakfast is ok but could be improved. Plenty of space due to lockers. Not loud due to quiet rules. Showers and cleaning facilities are good and the internet is good in reception but poor everywhere else.

High-tech lock system, lockers inside rooms that are automatically linked to key/assigned bed. Very young crowd. Wait times at front desk can be long if a lot of people are checking in. Somewhat of a walk to get to the bustling hip part of town, but it is just a 10 min walk from the Train/Bus station.

This is the second time that I've stayed here. The rooms are very clean and tidy. They are well serviced and spacious too. I am actually here as a teacher with a group of 50 students and they are very helpful and tolerant of our students. We couldn't ask for better service! Best hostel I've ever been to.

A good price for a good service. Good rooms and good facilities in general.

Very decent place for friends and couples without kids. The beds provided are cozy. They serve a complementary Breakfast and evening beverage. They also provide complimentary bus passes for local transport. Totally Worthy for what you pay.

A cool hostel worth its money (it is really hard to find a cheap place to stay in Geneve! ). I really enjoyed it in March 2014. Nice location, easy to reach. If you have more than an hour you can easily walk to the airport (as I did when I was leaving). The bed was quite comfortable, and the room was OK too, and the staff was friendly. Anyway Wi-Fi was very poor and only near the reception but it was working somehow)

Stayed here for 3 nights in March 2016. They do not have towels and the towels they do have for purchase are hand towels. This is NOT a typical hostel exeprience. There were several groups there of children under 10 years old making tons of noise and running around the common areas. The halls are very loud at night and even if you try to be quiet can still be heard in the rooms. Staff was not friendly. Food was terrible and the free breakfast can not accomodate all the guests. You have to wait in line for at least 30 minutes unless you get there very early. The first floor smells very bad and it never went away the entire time we stayed there. They act like giving you a free public transportation card is a big deal but EVERY hotel in Geneva does this and the pass went unchecked the entire trip. Was very disappointed and would never recommend this hostel to anyone.

Come and meet the most uncivilized people in this prison-like hostel!

The entrance definitely smells of balls.

For a Hostel, it is as expected. The decor and facilities are modern enough, glass and concrete in the new building. Smart and clean. Modern key card entry on rooms, large lockers and bathrooms. Food is good, although queues are long. Wi-Fi is a very useful facility, although signal is poor on the first floor where I stayed.

Stayed for 5 days as a part of a school trip, and was pleasantly surprised. We didn't face some of the issues because we inhabited nearly an entire floor, only on the penultimate night did we face problems when during the night drunken people who had the last room on our floor were being loud and causing a fuss. The toilets were clean and modern but the lack of proper door signs meant I had to explain to a German woman that this was in fact the men's toilet whilst in my boxers. We used keycards during out stay and I was impressed by security. The hostel undoubtly has a prison like feel to its concrete architecture but the echo's aren't as bad as implied, the lights out at 10 works well and the hostel is usually empty during the day. The Wi-Fi was adequate on floor 4 and seemed strong enough. The rooms and beds were fine but the window in our room was broken and wouldn't shut properly. Noise outside is low due to the police station. The fountain can also be seen from the higher floors, saying that its easier to pop out and take 5 minutes walking to the lake. The breakfast was bland and lacked variety but alas it was free. The cutlery is a tad confusing but we all managed and no one was reduced to tears. Nothing was stolen and was all round a pleasant stay. Just lacked a nice feel to the place and had a few downfalls. Would certainly recommend for the location and modern benefits, a well worth it stay.

The location is splendid, very clean, environment very warm, all the amenities, breakfast included in the price, if you want a hostel cheap and functional this is the best.

The rooms were weaving spiders and spin. The mattresses are through-and in the closet underwear previous visitors were roan! … NEVER AGAIN/ NEVER AGAIN.
