We only stayed one night, which was a shame given how nice the place was. Good amenities, nice food and a great view. The access is a bit gnarley due to the road quality, but such is the price of seclusion.

Magical place at the edge of the lake weaving in a wild environment. The rooms in the main building are beautiful, especially those overlooking the lake. Staff with small care and excellent meals. All for a decent price. Indika the owner offers various services way local travel agency: Mini van with driver for your trip to Sri Lanka, Safari in Yala, Tour of the lake by boat to observe the numerous birds.

Excellent breakfast. And rooms are very clean. Hooe to stay next time also with family.

The cottage is out of the country and without Google maps it would not have been easy to find it. The accommodation is comfortable and clean though. Run by two very helpful guys. Being away from the town we decided to dine in the hotel. Clean and co a great view!

Perfect location for this small and quiet hotel. Located on the lake front, it has excellent views and lots and lots of birds in the shallow water and grassy wetland. Rooms are clean, spacious and have good showers and a/c. Evening food was average quality, okay if you don't want to pay for transport in to town. Breakfast was excellent, lots of tasty fruit, eggs, hoppers and more. Highly reccomended for couples and those who love nature and the outdoors, the location is beautiful, service good and hotel is fresh and modern.

These guys are doing their best. Clean, stylish and spacious rooms with ac snd hot water. Nice and cozy lobby with rest area. Breakfast is like a festival! (see photo) Amazing view on a lake with a lot of various birds in the morning. Friendly personnel and good cook. We ordered one dish to share for dinner and portion was like two big ones, taste is delicious.

Best place to staying at tissa. Friendly staff & warmly service. Fresh foods & nicely serving. Lake viewing & quiet surround. Lovely place.

A Piece Of Paradise! Fantastic views of the lake, while next to a water Buffalo graze, everything has a peaceful atmosphere to the otherwise hustle and bustle of city traffic. The room is very clean, very spacious and everything is new. The staff are super friendly and the Transfer from and to the bus station in Tissa worked in spite of the many traffic (full-moon festival= a state of exception) very well. Addendum: The Safari was led by the driver Sudu (15 years experience) was worth every rupee, we were able to twice, leopards and several elephants as well as wild pigs, deer, crocodiles, various bird species and so on were explained to us expertly. All in all a successful stay.

Location is not easy to find, but if u call hotel ahead, they will come to pick u free from tissa bus station to hotel. All staff very nice and helpful. There is a free boat trip to tissa lake. The boat driver is friendly and know well about the lake. Amazing scenery. The fruits in hotel is free of charge. The staff give me a lot of bananas. Haha. And they can book safari. Food is tasty. Room is clean. Only one I am not very happy is that they don't have TV inside room. I dont know other rooms, but I don't have one. Anyway it's a nice hotel. When I come they have the last one uint and it's triple room but they give me only one person. For me, I concern more about service and the attitude of hotel than other thing. So I recommend this hotel.

Value was super high, view, Super, Sri Lanka, the best fried rice, the boss is also very warm, yala's back, and he got two cups of juice, I strongly recommend.

We stayed here overnight. It is slightly out of the way but the service, accommodation and location all make up for it. Fab view of the lake with a lovely breeze and fresh air. The owner/manager is extremely friendly and went out of his way to ensure we were all fine and constantly kept checking on us. They have their own banana, papaya and pineapple trees so the fruit is super-tasty. A welcome drink is provided as well. The room is large and clean and comes equipped with an air-con, fan and a luggage rack. The bathroom is clean and has all the amenities. They even provide guests with an electrical mosquito repellent. The food is plentiful and cooked fresh on the spot (and very large portions! ). Do not miss your meals there. We had a 5 a. M. Safari trip and they very kindly provided a packed breakfast, mineral water and even tissues for us to bring along. Fantastic service, pleasant staff.
