I stayed for 5 nights, very friendly staff, breakfast bar was decent, Doris was doing great job keeping the room tidy. It's right on the beach, with all the shops and restaurants around. Outdated beds, other then that, no complaints. Would I stay here again? Yes 4 stars.

This was our second stay on the Horitzo, but this time was different. I am totally digusted over how we was "welcomed". The reseptionist, named "Erika", was the most impolite person I've ever met in my days as a hotel guest all around the Mediterranean. We had booked the "penthouse", but it wasn't before we had checked in that she told us that we can't have that room. We could have a side view room with lower standard, but at the same price as the penthouse, she said. No explanation, no appology, just a pout face. When I reacted with a "what"!, she goes, "excuse me", and looked at me like I'd just spitted on the floor. If I was her boss, I'd fire her and have security escorting her out of the hotel. This was totally unacceptable. This was our second honeymoon, and she came pretty close to ruin it. Further more, the "free Wi-Fi" is a joke, it's free alright, but slow as melasse at wintertime, if you could locate it at all. And the elevator was, typically enough, out of order, so we had to carry our lugggage up to the fourth floor. This Erika character was obviously not upper management, so when her boss came the next day, we were told that the penthouse would be ready within the next couple of days. We were financially compensated, but still no appology. When we finally got the penthouse, it didn't meet our expectations, we were downright disappointed, to say the least.

We chose this hotel as it looked like one of the best ones in the area. We paid almost €190 for 2 nights when we made the booking for a room with a front sea view, having been led on by the photos on the webpage. On the website, the room looked decent, modern and spacious — something like what a 3 star hotel like ibis or accorhotels would provide.
Imagine the horror as we approached our room and opening the doors for the first time. The walls on the corridor had bad cracks, the ceiling tiles are falling apart, the ceiling is sagging and the doorframe to our room is detached from the wall. As we opened the door to our room we instantly knew our expectations from the website were far from being met to say the least — we saw the the most dated, narrowest and hostel-like room amongst all the 3 star hotels we have been to. There are random paint patches on the wall, the furniture is dated and dented (they all have scratches on them) and the upholstery and bedding are very old and stained. Also we are not even able to fully open the bathroom door-it opens at a 30degree angle at the maximum. Thank god we were both slim or we probably wont be able to get in. There is a huge terrace in front of our balcony that blocks our view of the ocean. There are exposed cables around our balcony. We went to the reception but they were not able to do anything so hopefully we get to speak to the manager Rosa tomorrow.

One should look at the price-performance ratio here. It is an older hotel with simple rooms, but you had everything you need. Of course, it's not a luxury room, but you can't expect it for that price. We were on the 1st floor, so it was always a bit noisy in the corridors, but also there I can overlook it — is often also at other hotels.
The breakfast buffet was huge and I am sure there is something for everyone. The location to the beach and the pedestrian zone is perfect!
So if you don't raise your expectations for a room too high, you're definitely not disappointed. It was perfect for us.
As I said, you should see here the price and the performance you get for it and I think that is more than fair.

Definitely not a 3 star hotel, more than likely a 1 or 2. The rooms are practically falling apart with door handles hanging off and drawers coming apart. The rooms are okay if there's 1 or 2 of you, but 3? No chance! The showers are also tiny! The only positive about this hotel is it's location, right along the beach! The sea views are practically non existent also unless you're lucky enough to get a room at the very front of the hotel, otherwise you get the view of a other people on their balcony. Very cramped and needs some serious modernising.

Very small rooms, there is air conditioning but do not clean filters when you turn on comes a bad smell. Missing the fridge inside the great sea view room with balcony. Very old-fashioned poor décor is recommended to travel with few bags otherwise you will have difficulty placing them. The bathroom door does not open bumps the bed (see photo) even the bathroom is very small it is difficult to get in two. I advise you to do only overnight and breakfast since dinner is not the best, plus drinks or water are not included, half a liter of water I paid 2, 40 euros if you eat on the promenade there are a lot of places where you spend less and you eat much better on the con very plentiful dishes. Regarding the very courteous staff, about the cleaning of the room also that is fine, room always clean and tidy. Great beach that is always clean, you can rent umbrellas and deckchairs or you can buy one you want one and position yourself in the front near the seashore. Very useful the balcony you can immediately dry The towels Costumes and T-shirts. Last thing the Wi-Fi is free but it doesn't work at all, very slow even if you go to the front desk the connection is very slow. What's good they provide you with a computer for free Internet browsing.

Good place, by the beach. Small room with small, uncomfortable furniture. Ridiculous bathroom. There is no room to stand in front of the sink. I had to shave sitting in the cup. Very small shower in which I could not turn without moving the faucet. Very short shower curtain. All the water comes out that can end up forming a puddle by the bed. I didn't try any hotel services.

Nice hotel I had a room with a view. Only down fall the room did not have a refrigerator.

Disaster that room was simply 3 days not cleaned no fresh towels reception was totally unfriendly in a very bad and disrespectful tone.

Hotel close to beach, small rooms and some noise from very early, the buffet is fine.

The main hotel is opposite. This hotel is just for sleeping. For food and also to the pool you have to leave the house. But it has the advantage that you don't have to move big to go to the beach. It is 20 metres further. Shops, pubs, bars, bus stop as well.

I put 1 star and it seems too much! I paid for a room in a 3 star hotel and I find a hideout, not in the worst hostels, broken curtains, old furniture, uncleaned room, toilet paper started, crappy bathroom, a wet towel rolled behind the curtain!. Disgusting…

Great location but: The room smelled fish all night because of the restaurant below (and I was on the 5th floor). The "view on the beach" was actually a view on the neighbors. The food is okayish if you are hungry; for the same price, spend your money on a restaurant outside instead; the pizza is cold, the ice cream industrial, the vegetables are not fresh.

Rooms are small and noisy. You can hear anyone walking down the corridor. I suppose the rates and prices are adequate. Perhaps the only plus point is the view as it is on the beach front. Good is very average. Almost every day the same and very cheap quality. Breakfast is ok.

Great location close to the beach. Depending on the room a nice view too. The rooms are small. Unfortunately we didn't have a fridge. The furnishings are old-ish but functional and everything is clean. The service is nice. As usual for a vacation we didn't stay much in our (small) room so it worked well enough for us.

Hotel is very close to the beach (some of the rooms have a great view of the ocean), service is good, the rooms are very small (but every room has its own balcony). The breakfast has a wide range of different food (bread, toasts, sausages, pancakes, other sweets etc. — for everyone there is something to eat). The nearby swimming pool is nice and everything is clean.

The location of the hotel is top. Right on the beach, next to a supermarket and plenty of restaurants and bars. The rooms in itself (outbuildings) too small, no mini bar, very in the years come (no meter without Abgeplatze color etc). But clean! Breakfast and dinner also okay (drinks but prefer to drink next door, because you get more for less money). Stayed 3 days and would return due to the location at a cheap offer.

Pros =perfect location, directly on the beach =wonderful view from balcony, sometimes I didn't even want to leave the balcony to go to the beach =near lots of bars/restaurant and shops =friendly staff cons =toilet is tiny and taking shower resulted in watered floor, they need to have better curtains =restaurant was downstairs in basement of the other hotel, I didn't really enjoy it, food variety was sometimes nice sometimes not.

Very clean room and service. A problem with the shower. I recommend coming.

Our favorite bar spot. All are nice, the drinks and food class, and it lies directly on the Promenade.

Very good location, right on the beach! food tastes good and varied. The staff is friendly and almost all speak German :-) only note, our balcony door you could from the outside to open and it was not fixed, although as three times asked. Otherwise, everything is top-notch!

We were in may 2011 and in June 2012 it was very nice and we will go back again.
