Having returned home to arctic conditions yesterday (24/8/18), well seems like it after the incredible weather we had last week in Fuerteventura. Anyway the Caleta Dorado, where to start? The Bungalow : Our was was more than comfortable, living room, bedroom and bathroom and even a back door to a small yard with a clothes horse, the only complaint is when having a shower, standing in the smallest bath ever made, the shower curtain was so old and tattered it flooded the bathroom, fortunately after mopping up all the water the towels dried in record time on the clothes horse in the yard as it was that hot. The resort has only recently gone all inclusive from self catering, there is a fridge/microwave and cooker in the room but you have to rent everything else, kettle/fan (no aircon) etc. The only Wi-Fi is available in the reception I didn't see any option to pay to Wi-Fi in your bungalow. Restaurant : The restaurant is completely inadequate for the amount of people at the complex, breakfast is 7.30 to 10.30, the food is good, a lady cooks pancakes on the hotplate that are nice but a long Que as they are cooked and served fresh, only 1 toaster for the whole restaurant and you have to put the bread through 5 or 6 times, another Que, its a similar story for lunch (1.00 to 3.00) and dinner (6.00 to 10.00) The food is good but avoid popular times or you could have a 30 minute wait just to get in. The Pool : There are 3 pools, 2 with bars, 1 of the pool bars closes at 5.30 and only does drinks no food, the main pool is good, plenty of sun beds, a splash area which is hard to describe but is a good place to cool down, a toddlers pool tucked away which is quiet and safe, but again the bar which provides the all inclusive snacks is woefully inadequate for the amount of people, this is also the place where the evening entertainment takes place, we went off the complex every night because if you simply couldn't get a table because people were stalking them from 6 o'clock (the entertainment started at 9) and there was no chance of getting drunk or enjoying the entertainment because you were in yet another Que for you 2 all inclusive drinks. The staff: most were friendly and helpful, a few grumps but nothing terrible. Location : There's a small complex of bars and shops virtually on site, the main town is just a 10 minute walk down the hill where you finds all the bars and restaurants and then just 4 euros in a taxi back so no need to feel captured on the complex. Overall : We found it perfectly acceptable for the price we paid, had we paid more we would probably been upset but you get what you pay for and Club Caleta Dorada provided good value for money, If you want Luxury go elsewhere but if you want an affordable base for your holiday we couldn't recommend this place enough :
