Newly remodeled in the heart of the Gothic district. Great location for fun!

It's noisy at night. The windows are wooden with poor soundproofing. Everything else is fine!

Location really convenient in the center of the Gotico (with noise, but you had to expect) and really very large room with three small balconies. So far everything is perfect. But it stops there. There is nothing in the room apart from two mini soaps and mini-vials for two people for three days. We had to go and claim the next day when the ones we had used had not been replaced. No items as in the other 4 * (comb, razor etc) and especially no courtesy tray or coffeemaker, an empty minibar without any items. No bar in the hotel but at the reception a pay coffee machine and two distributors broke down. Obviously no glass of cava on arrival as in the other four 4 * hotels (and even one of the 3 *) that I have made before. Yet the rate is the same or even downright higher. Too bad, this large room could have been superb (no artwork on the walls either) and the entrance with big leather sofas could have been nice to have a drink as the equipped minibar would have been welcome. Oh yes, and the towels were not changed on the first day while soaked (the second day Yes because laid in heaps in front of the door). Anyway, too bad.

Good location to shops and restaurants. The place was fairly nice, but our room had really bad Wi-Fi reception.

Courtesy, cleanliness and helpfulness. Great location to walk around. Tourist Bus 5 min. And Metro 2 min. The breakfast is not worth it. 14 euros… just outside is full of good breakfast stuff.

A hotel rather is 3, surely not 4 stars. It has No restaurant, just an ugly sanvichs machine. They charge 2euros a day for the safe, there is no bidet in the bathroom…

It is already the second time I stay at this hotel. Quiet, good deal in reception and clean and well furnished rooms. Repeat.

Details to consider for a hotel of this category: — Noisy rooms. Very thin walls, you feel the noise of all the rooms and hallways. Not to mention if it's your turn to the street. (We asked for room change and the staff took the change without any problem).
— Very poor Wifi. In a 4 * star hotel, you have to juggle to receive signal is not good at all.
Highlights: — The attention and predisposition of excellent staff — excellent cleanliness — excellent location. In the Gothic quarter and with access to all means of transport.

Super cool, very nice and in the center.

Nice rooms in a beautiful area. Kind staff. The breakfast, however, is both expensive and terrible.

In General acceptable, in our case in the room did not reach the Wi-Fi, the toilet bowl was loose, and the terrace doors did not insulate the noise. The customer service on the part of the staff could improve.

Fantastic location in the heart of the Gothic quarter. Rooms are fine and the breakfast is good. A metro station is very close (Jaume 1), La Rambla is 10-15 min walk and the beach is 20mins walk.

Definitely needs some sprucing up. I heard from management they were doing a full reno.

Two sunbeds on the balcony would have been good. And a larger bed. But very nice hotel and great breakfast.

The room was nice but the floor was a bit dirty. Loved their coffee machine for breakfast.

For a 4 star hotel The box cannot be opened and the beds slide apart.

Beautiful location 2 steps from Chatedral and Rambla and 40 minutes walk from Barceloneta. Clean rooms and comfortable luggage storage service. Recommended.

Very unfriendly stuff. I booked a double room/queen size bed room for one person and they charged breakfast twice, since it's a room for two people. They don't care if it was booked for only one person. I asked them to deduct one breakfast from the invoice, but they didn't answer anymore and at the end they just charged it to the credit card without signature from our side. HOW RUDE! : (I book hotels every day and it is quite common that only one person has got a room which could be for two. Never happened to me before. I cannot recommend this hotel.

Excellent place to stay for those looking to be in the middle of everything and with that being said let's share some details. PROS: Being in the middle of everything means quick access to the attractions. The Metro station is around the corner, the tour bus has a stop 1.5 blocks away, and relatively inexpensive food is within a two block radius. My room had a balcony and it offer awesome with down the street. CONS: The street can be quite loud at night with party goers sharing the fun and cars driving by. Mornings are no different with employees from the stores around yelling at 6am giving directions to one another. The Air Conditioner wasn't working and when we told the reception they said that they don't turn it on because it wasn't summer yet. Fine then, I'll just open the balcony doors and let air come in… with loud party goers voices included.

The hotel had a couple great pros: Location & price Cons: due to location, it's in the center of A LOT of activity and noise. So if you're looking for a quite nights sleeps… Don't sleep here. But if you're here for a couple quick over nighters, and you want to be in the center of everything, this is a good place. Checking in was simple enough… The reception was a little bit hasty. Seemed like the staff member was quite stressed and dealt with us with no real great hospitality but we knew the drill and just wanted to quickly check in and get our day going. The rooms are basic. It's a little bit out dated but really, you're staying in a one of the oldest places in Spain. Can't really ask for too much when you're in a really old building. If it's a place you want to just sleep in, this is a great place. If you want a place to stay inside all day… Not the place. If I was to visit Barcelona again, I wouldn't mind staying here again.

A 4 star a little undertones, there is no bar, but there are some nasty beverage machines in the lobby. The room is large and clean every day… Central location, from which you can visit Barcelona comfortably… At 100 meters metro stop Jaume 1. To go back…

No teeth brush. One elivator. No water in fridge…

Whilst the staff were pleasant, efficient and helpful, unfortunately the hotel itself has definitely seen better days. My room was at the front, and the rickety double glazing did nothing to reduce the considerable street noise. There were no facilities in the room, no minibar, no kettle or ability to make hot drinks. Towels were old and scratchy, and the bathroom freebies like soap & shampoo were particularly poor. No dressing gowns either. About 30% of the marble tiles on the floor were badly cracked, loose, or deeply chipped. Breakfast was mediocre at best.

Great location. Clean and spacious room. Breakfast with wide choice of sweet and savoury food.

Clean and close to most tourist attractions. Easy access to different public transport systems. There is no shuttle to the airport. Nice hotel. Very noisy at night.

Tidy, friendly, very clean!

I have stayed in this hotel on several different visits to Barcelona. The location is great. We have always had a good experience here. On our first stay we asked to be relocated from the room we were in and the staff moved our bags for us while we were out. Only one time when we were in town did we stay in a hotel on the La Rambla. Although the room was larger and the television had English speaking channels I prefer the Gran Hotel Barcino. Our next visit to Barcelona is booked and we are once again staying in the Gran Hotel Barcino.

The hotel Barcino good only has the location, otherwise it is less than zero, let me tell you my experience,
I booked the hotel including breakfast in June, arrived in Barcelona on 8/19/2015
I showed up at the hotel Barcino to take the keys to the room, to give me the keys was the top manager who handed me the keys to the room # 205 on the fifth floor, I took the elevator that doesn't work well, arrived in front of the room 205 I entered the key I entered and the room was already occupied in the bed there were two girls they don't tell you that figure. I got to my room # 207 always on the fifth floor with very small apertures. In the morning we went to make breakfast and the staff tells us that wasn't included, call the front desk and confirm that included breakfast, this history has repeated itself every morning making me do look bad in front of everyone. The penultimate day when I went to complain to the front desk to the famous breakfast wasn't included, the manager told us we had to change rooms because on the fifth floor had to do the work, so they moved to the second floor, a truly forgettable do not recommend it at all, for the rest of Barcelona is fantastic a must visit.

Terrible, we wanted today to check in, and we were a fairly unfriendly hotel staff at the reception explained that the Hotel is fully booked and we are staying in another Hotel. On our criticism is that this is not in order would be introduced in the hotel, that we would have no Option. Either we take the other Hotel, or stay on the road. The entire way we in spite of reservations and reservation confirmation has been fobbed off us but very unpleasant. Get we have a Hotel that we will be able to not have booked them and the original Hotel just because of the location in the Gothic quarter. Thumbs down for the harsh training. Actually no star value.

Hotel room is very low standard, tiny TV, but it was clean enough, the hotel location is ok, 500 meters from la rambla.

The location is amazing! My room for me was optimal, the breakfast buffet sufficient and the staff friendly and cautious. because I love the hustle and bustle, I have extra Street me book a room and got a room on the 4th floor (406) with a small balcony. The prospect was intoxicating. There is always something to see! Who needs his Holy rest but in the night, which should take better back out a room, because actually the garbage is picked up in the night 2 x, what is of course noisy, but daruch also the roads are always clean ;-) there I liked, to be so amidst the hustle and bustle and also in the night from my balcony watching the bustle on the street and listen to all in all I would but only the hotel 3 star give, as e. G. The minibar empty and was not even cooled. Location: Top! just awesome — the Rambla, as well as to the beach only a few minutes and the whole thing in the middle of the old town! Around numerous bars and shops; something is always going on! No matter what you do, there is always a top Central "base". I went several times a day in my room to freshen up, to move to if the weather changed etc. Staff: very friendly and helpful (2 x I have unfortunately my card from the hotel "entmagnetiesiert" and got immediately a new) nevertheless restrained, how I feel about as pleasant. Gastronomy: I had breakfast, and although not exciting, but that was definitely in order.

Good location, comfortable mattress, very normalitos rooms, breakfast is not up to of a *, taking you "bread tumana" was crushed Tin, mineral water is open the bottle and refilled from the tap. Little professional waiter service.

We were quite satisfied with this hotel. Nice location, 1min to Metro station and quite close to the beach. The people working there were quite nice and helpful. They kindly advised us the locations and other tips. Breakfast was also nice. The facilities are a bit old, but personally I like this old-time feeling. TIP: the room facing to street could hear the street noise at night, the room on the other side is very quiet.

Hotel really poor. Old and pampering, "get away from it. ".

The only good thing about this hotel is the location, but don't get too excited because if you want to sleep, don't stay here. The area is incredibly loud through the early hours of the morning. If you shut your window you are suffocated (because the website is wrong when it says it has AC, it does not) and if you leave the window open, you might as well get up and join in the party downstairs because you won't sleep. The staff is rude. Simple as that. Incredibly rude. I was offered via my reservation a late check out. When I asked this of the staff, they simply said no, and demanded 35 Euro per hour if I wanted a late check out. It was only when presented with a print out of my hotel reservation that they said okay, but then blamed me when I failed to present it previously (for whatever reason they simply refuse to acknowledge their mistakes). The food here is horrendous! If you do stay here, do not do the breakfast included option! It is worth going out for breakfast! I almost threw up my breakfast it sat so poorly in my stomach. The beds are incredibly hard as are the pillows. The showers/bathroom are dirty and inadequate. The shower head kept falling off so much so that I had to stand with it in my hand to get clean.

There were bugs in my room and the breakfast food was spoiled. The staff was not helpful and did not care about their guest. An AWFUL experience.
