Chilled, beautiful setting, great tapas, lovely service.

A perfect hotel if you look for a bed to sleep at night and a shower. The location is more then perfect and everything is in walk distance including must of the metro station. The service at the desk is great and the workers are kind and helpful. If I get to Barcelona again I probably take a room there again.

Had to switch hotel after one night. The room was so small that we couldn't even open our luggages or the door to the balcony without moving the bed. The ac wasn't really on most of the time so the night was kinda horrible. Water flooded from showers into the hallway. Location was kinda nice tho.

Very good location, small rooms, you have to climb 1 floor till the lift.

I stayed for 3 nights with the family. The boys were in an internal room, while we had room with balcony that gave on the square. Both solutions are excellent because there is a need to use air conditioning and therefore the windows remain closed.
Great location, central to the places of greatest interest and close to the LICEU metro station.
Dear staff and clean rooms, they seem recently renovated. Also the bathroom in the norm, with wide shower (in the interior there was also equipped tub x shower.
Generally quiet place.
Breakfast costs 6 euros, but with less you can choose everything in the nearby premises.

It was a great experience for my family to stay at El Jardi. We enjoyed the location and the atmosphere that it brings. Since it is located in the Square, we saw and heard people (from the balcony) resting, hanging out and street performers entertaining the crowd. We felt like we experienced Barcelona by staying in the hotel. It was also affordable. Though the bathroom was tiny, the room was very clean. The staff were friendly and VERY helpful.

Great location in the Gothic area. Only a short walk to la Rambla, el Boqueria market, and the Liceu metro station. Clean room, comfortable bed, private bathroom, and a very friendly staff. There is an elevator (small), but we preferred the stairs since the top floor is only three flights up from the lobby, which is on the second floor. Continental breakfast is complimentary. The hotel is right above a small plaza with restaurants and shops. It has activity late into the night. Open the balcony door to hear live music. Close the door to muffle the sound. It's never totally quiet, so light sleepers might want to bring ear plugs.

Place very well located, although small it is worth it to walk to all the attractions of the Gothic Quarter, the services are not anything outstanding but it fulfills the task of having a clean place.

Tiny but muuuuuuy cozy, quiet and, above all, impeccably clean! In an unbeatable area, a beautiful square away from the hustle and bustle, in the picturesque Gothic Quarter, with its alleys where you can get lost walking, just a step away from Las Ramblas, at the height of the Liceu and the Mercado de La Boqueria. We will repeat for sure!

Nice hotel in heart of tourist district (Barri Gòtic). Beautiful old building, clean and comfortable, modern furnishings, good sized rooms, good and reasonably priced continental breakfast. Avoid if disabled: 1.5 flights of steps to elevator. But then Barri Gòtic is hard for non walkers.

The hotel is ideally located in the heart of Barcelona's nicest district. The reception is spotless. The rooms are small and simple but very clean. Very good value-neighborhood-price, I recommend!

Clean, good location, really nice staff… only downside, if you have heavy bags you must drag upstairs as 'lift' starts on the 2nd floor.

Loved the location! Very tiny shower but if you are small it's fine. The place is great for ambiance and easy walk all over the medieval part of the city!

The location is central and great for the price. View of the square downstairs is great for people watching. Breakfast is simple. Note that there are lots of stairs because they couldn't build a lift for preservation reasons. The rooms are clean but it doesn't feel as much like a hotel with its tiled floors and minimal furnishings. It gets 4 stars for location and cleanliness.

Absolute great location. In the center of everything. The shower is extremely small though and the room that I had (2) had a loud running water noise all night the nights I was there. But I was there to experience the city and those were minor inconveniences for the price and location.

The location in the historic area is fantastic and the staff are superb. The accommodation is a little basic and the walls are a bit thin, but the prices are excellent. Most rooms have one or more balconies overlooking the square, which is a great bonus. I would definitely recommend.

I tried to pay with 500 bill but they did not accept as if it would not be a true bill. They say that they discount 10% if you pay with cash, why? Guess it. However they caught the money from my credit card without discount. Barcelona is extremely expensive and instead of helping you they do not accept 500 bills for paying 250 only for two nights in the hotel, should I suppose to wear 15 bills of 50 for three days? Just ridiculous. The room was quite small and with twin beds instead of double… (we were a couple) The street beside was noisy by the way. And the shops open late and close very early. Looks like they want you spending money there more days than you need.

My Sister celebrated her Birthday in Barcelona @ El Jardi Hotel. I asked the staff if someone could kindly do the shopping for me for my present to my sister who stayed there for a few days. They did a great job! They went shopping for a bottle of Cava, Box of chocolates which they wrapped up nicely, and a bunch of nice helium balloons with 50th printed on them!. And beautifully presented them in her room for a surprise.
My sis had a great time and a lovely surprise. Thank you so much for your wonderful effort Ladies and customer service! I will be sure to stay at yours if I'm in Barcelona on holiday! x.

The hotel is a 2 piloto and position fantástica (pleno Casco Antiguo). In cerro time of the year the prices are really low (55 €/night double with breakfast). Would recommend … like 2 stars.

Awesome place in Barcelona downtown where you can relax and simply have a drink. Not cheapest, but worthy.

Professionalism, cleanliness, always open, you can leave your bags even after check out, bathroom and very clean.

Food are OK even if it's not extraordinary. The location are really great! So quiet on this nice little place.

Cozy, nice and neat place. The guy who working in reception is kind. Room has balcony, nice view from it, — small square in front of. Close to Sants station, also not so far from the airport.

Great little tapas place. Free Wi-Fi. Secluded and a million miles from the hustle and bustle of the nearby streets.

Maybe I shouldn't give a high review? Because really I want to keep this a secret. But that wouldn't be fair… I will come back to this place every time I'm in bcn.

El Jardi has a great atmosphere, good food and nice staff. You can sit here and relax whilst enjoying the taste of Barcelona. Don't let the smell of the corridor leading to the restaurant turn you off.

A small place of paradise preserved this patio a few steps away from the teeming Barcelona streets of animation. Drinks, snacks, tapas, music and relaxation are on the program of this café in the heart of the gardens of the old hospital of Santa Creu (historical Mecca of Barcelona where died one of the most famous figures of the city… the architect Gaudi! ). A parenthesis I recommend after a great day of market and visits!

Perfect location in town.

Hidden in the grounds of the old Hospital de la Santa Creu is El Jardi, tapas bar.   Sitting in the fresh terrace and surrounded by walls of stone from another era, it disappears from the city noise and you can enjoy the Symphony of wind rocking the trees and birds singing. A breath of fresh air.
The garden is the ideal place to enjoy a good glass of wine with our meals in a relaxed atmosphere.   The gastronomic changes and adapts to the seasonal products that offers us the Boqueria market.   The proximity of this emblematic market allows us to receive fresh twice a day.   The kitchen is open all day and we have both Sun and shaded terraces.

We were in September for Les Festes de la Merce. And our experience it was fantastic. Clean, staff very frienly, breakfast perfect, in the centre of Barcelona (beside Placa del Pi) and ther view amazing. We will recommend Hotel el Jardi. Better impossible.

Nice atmosphere, good music and service, the focaccia was tasty.

The room was pretty small, but not uncomfortably so. Free Wi-Fi and good working A/C were huge pluses. There's an elevator, but it's in the lobby which is up a single flight of stairs, so you have to carry your luggage up that far. Metro is a short 1 minute walk from the front door. Staff were very nice and helpful. No issues with pickpockets (Just use common sense and you'll be fine). Definitely felt safe staying there. The square by the hotel wasn't so noisy at night that it kept me up. Good access to all the things a tourist would want to do. I would definitely stay there again.

Thieves case the hotels and businesses in the area. 2 males snatched my wife purse right out of her hand while going with her luggage back to the bus station and then on towards the airport from this hotel. When the stores are closed in the early morning or late evening, watch out. They will follow you if you are an easy mark and most travelers carry luggage which makes it easy for the thieves to steal from you. No police protection at that time as well. While the hotel may be okay, any establishment in a high crime area should be avoided at all costs. The businesses in this area need to have local law enforcement ramp up their protection. They need to hire private security as well to protect their patrons otherwise they will cease to be a tourist attraction. My wife saw this happen to another lady in the area while they were there as well.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights in the large exterior with a balcony room. The Balcony over looked a beautiful and picturesque square where it's perfect to people watch and listen. Our room was impeccably clean and was cleaned daily. All staff were very friendly, the receptionist was very helpful and spoke English (among other languages) fluently. The hotel itself is in the best location in Barcelona, central, next to Las Ramblas, and in the stunning Gothic quarter. You're never too far from a traditional coffee shop, delicious restaurant, patisserie or stall and la Boqueria market is 5 minutes away where we spent a lot of time. If I come to Barcelona again I will definitely be staying here. Very highly recommended.

The hotel is too small to enjoy. The room is the smallest room I've seen in my life. I looked at the floor plan, and it seems we got the smallest room, however, the other rooms seems pretty small too. The location was good, there was little street noise and the hotel staff were nice. But, I will definitely never go back.
