Galerna Zarautz Hostel Hostel

Excellent place, we stayed here with my girlfriend and is not expensive.

Not recommended for winter. The apartment does not have heating and only provided us with a fine blanket per person. The facilities were in construction (without warning us) and with water leaks. They also made us pay a higher price than it was on a poster in the apartment. We contacted the responsible and did not solve any of the complaints or provided us with any alternative. Unfortunate.

We were 11, the local clearly in renovations, there was no heating, there was no sleeping duvet and the blanket thinner than the smoking paper, water leak to the minimum you would pass the step (whether it was for washing dishes or for showering) and on the owner literally told us not to Could do more. A disgrace! Also for Booking we charged 10 euros more than the prices stipulated on the wall of the room. Luckily this issue was solved. Also the sleeping, for the same price we found a 4 * hotel in Donosti. It was a shame not to be able to take Zarautz for this bad experience.

Very cozy and top notch food.

The person in charge treats the clients poorly. He hurried us in bad manners when we were already going outside de hostel 10 minutes before departure check out time. Not a good place to stay.

I am a very flexible traveler. With that being said this was a poor value for 22 euros. There are flies all around, a smell, dirty dishes and sand throughout. The root of the problem is that there is one man running it (who seems like a nice guy), but he is in over his head. He comes from 16:30-18:30 to clean the whole place and check all the guest in for the night (so if you come in at 14:00 you have to wait for 2 hours), beyond that there is no one else in charge. It is not in the nice part of town, right next to the train tracks and there is an active construction site in the building above. I normally would not be so critical if I had not stayed in a hostel that felt like a 4 star hostel and paid 17 euros right before coming here. (In San Sebastian)

All new and great people. We'll probably come back next year.
