Best Hostel in the south of Spain! The staff are awesome, the breakfast is plenty and it's generally very relaxed. Almost everybody wants to do or does a kite surfing course so there are loads of surfer-vibes. The rooms are big, beds are comfy and most of them have large windows.

Double room (no toilet) is very basic, ok with balcony (no view particular) 1 night stay for us ok. Free parking is available in front of building or near neighbor depending on disponibility. For a double room bit expensive but for solo traveller in an dormitory seems to be a cheapest option in town. The staffs are kind, The ambiance of the hostel seems to be cheering. We went for breakfast at 9: 40, there are only eggs and tea. So we went out to café for breakfast. Toilet & shower are clean, For shower, the water pressure & temperature were not great, it was ok in this hot weather.

The hostel is awesome, good customer service, big kitchen, good spot, but… When we went it had bedbugs in my bed. I'm 100% because i've been bit by bedbugs because it happened to me before. At least they had the decency to give me my money back but still… Be careful if your are sensible to it and you are planning to go.

We arrived in the evening at the hostel, dinner fare, and we found ourselves on the floor five cockroaches. We checked the windows and they had a rack then they came for the other side. We ask the receptionist for a solution, but the hostel was full. He said he was going to search for the owner and 30 minutes we found this person sleeping in the courtyard of the hostel. Then we insult and returned to sit on the terrace of the hostel. Past 2 hours I present the owner and put a claim sheet where we saw that there was more by this topic and one of them put that they had fallen a tick of the ceiling in addition of being full of cockroaches. They gave us a solution and we met at 5 am in the street and no place to go. Since then a site with roaches with wings not we were going to be and less with ticks. For anything recommend this hostel.

Bitter experience, both of the accommodation, as the perpetrators. Arriving at 2.30 in the morning the habiatación had more than 5 roaches. When asked for a solution to the person on reception were very unpleasant with us and we even get insulted. We ask for the sheet of claims, and we refused up to 2 times. Finally we had to sleep in the car.

Really cool hostel in Tarifa! Very nice staff and nice rooms. Also the bathrooms are clean. The breakfast is free and they even provide raw eggs for the people to fry in the morning. We had a blast!

Amazing atmosphere, makes you want to stay to live! Lovely people, lovely place and very neat, very clean and comfortable rooms, located in the center of the side of the beach. I will come back again and again! Thank you!

Excellent place to stop and get to know Fee. The price is very accessible and the place very comfortable. This 2 blocks of the beach and has everything you need. The included breakfast that consists of coffee with milk or by itself, toasted with butter and sweet, is enough and okay with the price you pay for the stay. The rooms are comfortable and have a lot of privacy, the beds have a trim or a curtain that keeps out of the sight of what is happening in the room, if so you need to have a good rest. The bathrooms are very practical and clean. In general is very tidy and clean, and the staff of the hostel is very attentive. Near the melting pot, there is everything to stock up or to go for a walk. Very well located.

Except the cleanliness of the bathroom and the antiquity of the Chirriona bed, all good. Maybe a bit expensive too but perhaps by being in Tarifa you can afford that rate. The staff very friendly, helps you in all you can and gives you conversation. It is also close to the beach and downtown area, although it is not a huge city either.

A cool hostel where casual people feel really comfortable. In the communal kitchen and in the chill areas with hammocks you always meet great and interesting people. For breakfast, eggs, 2 different jams, butter, toast, coffee, tea, milk and cocoa are available. The rest of the delicacies are presented on the Community table. The hostel is super located in the middle of the Centrum and 2 min. To the beach. Thank you for the lovely reception, it was really great with you!

Pretty nice and cheap. Breakfast not good at all but rooms are very clean and confortable. Service was excellent! It’s 5 min away from ferry and 10 min from bus station.

The Melting Pot is a very good, clean and efficiently run hostel in Tarifa, Spain, the southernmost town in continental Europe, with views of Morocco across the Strait of Gibraltar. You are welcomed with your name written on a blackboard at the entrance door, as well as by the receptionist who is there to answer questions. I have stayed at The Melting Pot half a dozen times and think it quite pleasant. You have a comfortable bunk bed with a very large slide-out storage drawer with lock and privacy curtain. There is a private room for one or two people but it costs more and I suspect it is full during the busy summer months. Showers and towels are free, and the are several clean toilets. Washing machines and clothes dryers are available for a small fee. There is a rooftop terrace with ocean views where you may sunbathe or relax. You can clearly see the coast of North Africa in the distance across the Strait of Gibraltar. Some of the guests at The Melting Pot in Tarifa, Spain take the FRS ferry (hydrofoil) to Tangier, Morocco either as a day trip or longer. The Melting Pot hostel in Tangier, Morocco (North Africa) is also highly recommended and not expensive. There is free coffee, tea, eggs, bread and marmelades provided in the morning from about 8 AM in the spacious and well-equipped kitchen, which is open for use by anyone to cook until about 11 P. M. Cold beers and some wines are available for purchase. Once in a while there is a Mojito night.

The hostel is SUPER. The staff working is incredibly nice and helpful. They provided us a map and give us some information about the City and tips of restaurants. The rooms are okey and the bed is confy. Rooms have private bathroom and also there is a common bathroom (that it is nicer). Common areas are big and nice. You can cook at the kitchen and leave your stuff in the fridge. The living room is nice because there are sofas. There is also a terrace whith tbale and chairs and a hammock to chill. I will definately go back to The Melting Pot. Location is great, close to the city center and to the beach, it is just in the middle of everywhere.

A very laid back hostel. There was no key for the entrance nor the rooms. The environment was very lax. It had a party vibe, but more on the chill artsy side. Each room had a big locker under the bed, but you needed your own lock. Kitchen was a decent size. It included breakfast which was basic toast, jam and butter. They had eggs out that you could cook yourself. Not many bathrooms or showers. Although it wasn't very big, I never found myself waiting. The men's upstairs bathroom was clean and the shower was good. Drain didn't back up or anything. I always sleep with earplugs and eyemask, so I was fine at night. Although I know a few people went to bed kinda late. So be prepared for that. I'd stay there again.

Wish I had more time to stay in this gem. Clean, friendly, comfortable. Breakfast was… Meeeh, but besides that, worth it :)

Free coffee is available in the morning in the spacious kitchen, which is open for use by anyone until 11 P. M. Cold beer is available for purchase for 1 Euro. The Melting Pot hostel is conveniently located off the Ave. De la Constitucion and about a 5 to 10 minute walk from the Port of Tarifa. There is a sister hostel in the Medina of Tangier, Morocco that is also inexpensive and well run. I will be staying here regularly during my visits to Tarifa, a charming windsurfing destination with absolutely beautiful in-town beaches and even more spectacular beaches outside of Tarifa that are accessible by car, taxi or local bus.

Friendly staff but a bit unconcerned. Sometimes the hot water was not available because they didn't change the gas for heating on time. The single room had a terrible bed, no place to put the clothes, no chair, no table, just the bad bed. The balcony was also empty. I stayed in this place because it has a good location and the house was nice in general.

Clean hostel with kitchen and free parking to 10 meters. Breakfast included, simple but good and central location. Quality/price very good.

Very quiet place ideal to relax and meet people q travels through Spain and who lived the experience of Morocco. There are good kitchen facilities and breakfast included in the price.

International distended environment. Informal, but very good, comfortable beds, centrally located …

Since we have not come or go! First call, they tell us that there is availability for the desired date, up to 8 people, I tell him that I'm going to tell the rest of friends and that you came to call. My friends tell me that ok, q ask how to make the reservation. Second call, we insist that we are 8 people that answer me that there is room for 8, and that putting a card number in the reservation (deposit), you are not charged now, but in cash when we come. I express my conformity and I tell him that I call back in the evening to confirm, since the reserve officially. Third call to the hour and a half later, I go with another fellow and they tell me that there are no rooms, which had been confused with the number of people (when I insisted repeatedly that we were 8) and that to reserve I had to go 3 days before and with a different form of payment. Not as it will be the place, but since then they are liars and unprofessional. I feel deceived.

Overall, not a bad place but could have been better. The bad: The floors in the room were dirty & sandy — — obviously not swept every day. Towels were an extra charge, which is not totally unusual but always annoying. The breakfast wasn't explained to us and led to some confusion in the morning about what we could and couldn't use… more or less there's a kitchen for you to use at your own disposal with some community items. The good: really lovely location, good price, the staff were friendly, they have a cute chalkboard sign to welcome you if you have a reservation, there was ample bedding, and the beds have drawers. Locks weren't included but the drawers could be locked if you brought one. Rooftop terrace is nice, too. 8 bunk beds filled the room I was in with a shared bathroom. Bathroom was clean and a decent size. I would probably stay here again without a problem, but it was a fairly middle ground hostel.
