This place is the bomb. A very chilled experience with the family and the little ones really enjoyed the animals around. The 3-course meals were all on point. The game drive was great and we spotted some giraffes about 10 metres away 😱! We really enjoyed our stay here. Thank you!

From the second you arrive you are made to feel welcome by the entire team. Rooms are great, food amazing and simply an all round fantastic lodge. Nothing is to much trouble for owners York, Tamar and Promise. Chef Toni will tantalize your taste buds with every meal. Will definately be back.

Wonderful stay in a gem of place! A Nature lover’s dream, super attentive and friendly staff who go the extra mile to make your stay pleasurable and comfortable. A relaxing and beautiful detox out of the city. Animals roam on your doorstep. Modern rooms with African flair and luxurious bed, bathtub and outside shower. Lovely hikes, sunsets and a great break away with kids and families to enjoy the splendour of nature.

The place is forever clean. The food was amazing, Chef T was just good. The rooms are big and spacious. The atmosphere is very nice and relaxing. Very Private ❤️♥️

Tamar, York, Promise and all the other staff at Zebras Crossing go out of their way to make your stay an out-of-this-world experience. The views are exquisite, the facilities excellent, and the food fantastic. The outside shower is the cherry on the cake.

Tranquil setting, limited number of guests, amazing staff and food!

We had the most magical weekend, and will definitely be back! Its MAGNIFICENTLY beautiful, the staff are soooo accommodating and friendly, and who doesn't want to watch a family of Meerkats frolicking right next to you while eating the most delicious breakfast.

There are a few hidden gems left in SA, especially ones with the combination of great service, food and location. One such gem is Zebra Crossing. Promise, the resident manager and his team provide 5 star service and delectable meals that are prepared from scratch. The rooms are spotlessly clean with every little detail you could possibly need. Zebra crossing itself is a haven of peace and tranquility. It is the perfect private spot to spend a few days with family and friends. Can’t wait to go back!

Lovely weekend getaway… Very peaceful. Great food. My daughter was super impressed with the friendliness of the staff. Great if you want to breakaway for done downtime while still having the option to stay connected. Great weekend retreat to recharge and reconnect. Also love the history and family cell you get.

Having booked Zebras Crossing for a Family weekend away, I was delighted to find that it suited everybody, from the babies to the elderly. We could relax the moment we arrived to the time we left with the wonderful staff that went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The Lodge is very clean and tidy and had an ambience about that took away all the stress of the big city. Ofcourse the animals at the Lodge were the children's delight. Thank you all at Zebras Crossing for making us have such a special weekend. You will see us again.

My family and some friends stayed at Zebra's Crossing for the weekend a couple of weeks ago not knowing exactly what to expect from the "very" private game lodge. The accommodation and food was fantastic only to be outdone by the wonderful staff. We will definitely be returning to Zebras Crossing when we are in need of a break from the world outside. I highly recommend booking the entire lodge to anyone looking for a very private and stylish breakaway in the bush.

My daughter and I were made to feel very much at home. Given love and privacy … both in equal measures. Thoroughly spoilt for breakfast. Animals all came to greet us and made us feel special. Thank you Promise, Cathy and everyone else.

What a fabulous place is Zebras Crossing Very Private Game Lodge. I went with 2 friends, and although there was plenty to do, we chose to just relax and revive! The staff were just wonderful, We knew everyone by name and they knew us.
Every day the animals came to visit the Lodge, it was superb to see them up so close, knowing they really were African wild animals, with a tolerance for the 'strangers' at the lodge! Every morning we had an excellent breakfast, and had chosen …the self catering option for other meals. Staff were ever helpful, laying a table near the roaring log fire, and offering to cook our food. The accommodation was also excellent. In all a fabulous mini break in the bush. Ok — great ostrich experience … Sitting on the stoop enjoying the late afternoon sun, then one of the ostriches (Bertha) climbed up the steps and kept trying to climb onto the couch next to me while clicking her beak and biting the cushions. We thought that she wanted more food but she ignored it and then squatted down and laid an egg. NOT an easy task, evidently!.

This is indeed a very private a special game reserve. You can expect a fantastic camp with all the bases covered and an intimate experience with the local game. The real gem is the team who host and look after you. It’s makes this experience 5 Star!

I had the most amazing mid-week break at Zebras. I was looking for a place that was close to Jhb but that felt far away so that I could recharge my internal batteries a bit. The sky was black and the stars were magnificent. I was very happy to have brought my cameras as I was able to get stunning shots of the African night sky (photo attached). Probably my favourite experience however, was my morning run. Not wanting to be too lazy, I went for an early morning run along one of the trails. It would be amazing to do on mountain bike but alas this trip I only had my shoes. I was amazed at the amount of game that was in and around the lodge. I ran with impala, warthog and zebra and at one point, I turned a corner only to start a young giraffe. He ran along side me for about 20m before veering off into the bush. It was incredible. Zebras Crossing is a special place that I will certainly visit again.

My family and I loved Zebra’s crossing! The weekends stay was too short for us and we would definitely be back, my children enjoyed feeding the Zebra’s and the wild came in very close proximity to the charlets! What an unforgettable experience! I will recommend Zebra’s crossing to everyone it’s a wonderful place with fantastic accommodating staff! Only just over 90 minutes from Johannesburg, a very happy group of family and friends spent a long weekend at Zebras Crossing in January 2018 and cannot wait to return! The children loved the friendly animals, yummy breakfast, space to run and the swimming pool. The adults were happy to have the space for sundowners and to relax with an amazing view and lovely bird life. All the staff are friendly and welcoming, but especially Promise and Katherine. We cannot wait to return and have already begun discussions with our friends to find another date to return as soon as possible. Two days felt like a week long holiday in the bush. The accommodation is lovely (and cool in the heat) and the breakfasts were divine! Thank you Zebras Crossing for an amazing time!

It's is the best game lodge ever. Away from the Toxic city and into mother nature with suiting sounds of bliss. Staff extremely friendly. Most relaxing place if you are a real hard worker or you are a lover nature. Zebras Crossing I love you. P. S Thank you Tamar for the beautiful stay. Love you.

In the pouring rain, friendly, smiling faces came out to greet us. We were shown to our warm, beautiful room and invited to join the other guests in the main house. Gathered by a roaring fireplace, we chatted and shared stories as if we were all old friends. We cooked dinner in a well equipped, farm style kitchen and ate at the large dining table. We slept very well on comfy beds and woke up refreshed and energized for the morning game drive. We had a delicious breakfast, which was made especially for my wife and I who are Vegans, while the ostriches and meerkats came to say good morning. What an enchanting place!

My family and I fell in love with Zebras Crossing Very Private Game Lodge from the moment we arrived on Friday, 24 November. We were welcomed warmly by the staff, led by Promise, the Lodge Manager. The staff helped us to get settled in despite lateness of the hour. We explored the grounds the next morning after a restful night's sleep in the beautiful room with a lovely view. Breakfast was served promptly at 8:00. Saturday was a cold and rainy day but the staff made a cosy fire which kept us warm while we mingled with the other guests over a game of 30 seconds. Our boys made the upstairs Lodge area their preferred games room for the day. The staff helped with cleaning up after lunch and supper which was a great help. We had a braai for Saturday night — which the staff made for us (the fire that is). Sunday morning was an absolute treat as Promise took us for a game drive and Mother Nature had put on a special display of her beauty: breath taking views as far as the eye can see as well as some game; Zebra, Wildebeest, Blesbok, Impala, Giraffe as well as the adorable meerkats. The ostriches came to say hello as we had breakfast on the patio. We had a wonderful stay and look forward to going back again.

My family and I have fallen in love with the gem that is Zebras Crossing Very Private Game Lodge. Upon our arrival we were warmly welcomed by all the staff led by the indefatigable Promise. At breakfast the next morning Zelda the ostrich came to say hello as well as the meerkats. We brought the rain with us so Saturday was a cold and rainy day but the staff made sure that we were warm by building a cosy fire in the lodge. We sat around the roaring fire mingling with other guests and also got to play 30 seconds with them. Later in the evening the staff made another fire for our braai and that was the perfect end to a relaxing day. Promise took us on a game drive early on Sunday morning where we spotted some zebra, impala, blesbok, babbons and guinea fowl. We have had an amazing stay and will definitely be back in future.

To enter Zebras Crossing is to enter the ultimate safari lodging experience. Only a 15 minutes drive from the centre of the charming town of Modimolle, one can find the perfect combination of luxury and wildlife. Upon arrival an ostrich named Zelda will welcome you with open wings and as you drive up to the lodge you cannot miss the picturesque lodges facing the breathtaking scenery that you are suddenly surrounded with. The lodges are situated in a valley that stretches for about a mile before turning into mountainous terrain, making this the ideal spot for the animals in the area to rest, eat and drink from the well (this is as much their retreat as it is yours). And yours it is; as we entered the main lodge we were welcomed by a team of extremely friendly staff that will make you feel at home in an instant. The service was sublime, and Tamar and York ensured a top of the bill experience both on a professional and personal level throughout. The main lodge itself is warmly decorated with African art and beautiful antlers that originate from the wildlife that once grazed in the area. The comfortable seating areas around the enormous fire place create a cosy vibe with a touch of luxury. The open space of the terrace overlooking the valley provides an ideal spot to interact with the animals. We fed Zebras, Meerkats and the Ostriches and saw Giraffes and Impalas from just a few feet away!

What a beautiful experience! This is the destination to be when you want to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy the picturesque views and close proximity to wildlife such as zebras, giraffes, kudus, ostriches and impalas. The staff is friendly. The food is great. The game drives are an awesome adventure! Outdoor showers are awesome. I loved the experience. This hinterland is nothing short of scenic and amazing. I definitely have plenty to write home about! It is definitely the place to be for family and kids.

I loved this lodge! Intimate, super super clean and the members of staff are truly awesome people. We were very lucky to meet the owners. What a stunning couple! The setting there is fabulous. Self catering or one can request catering by the staff. Promise (the manager), cooks fantastic meals. He is a diamond. We will go back any day. Great for kids and the entire family. Thank you Promise, Maria, Patricia and the rest of the gang. Loved every minute!

As per its name. Very private and well run and staffed. A unique experience for adults and kids to experience game up close and walk / run / ride amongst them.
