Our daughter got married at Kloofzicht and Nikita and her team went out of their way to make it a night to remember. All staff, from reception to restaurant were very competent and we had a very good experience at Kloofzicht Lodge. Thank you.

Big shout out! to the entire team at Kloofzicht Lodge & Spa! We had our 22nd wedding anniversary and were treated like kings! From being welcomed at the tranquil, relaxing Spa to checking into our luxurious room and all the way to the fine dine, cozy and romantic Restaurant, we were treated with friendliness and felt very relaxed and welcome. Thank you to the amazing Managers — Moses and Chris and all the friendly staff throughout the entire venue! We definitely recommend Kloofzicht Lodge & Spa for any occasion.

Great amenities and exceptional location. Our stay was comfortable and peaceful. We loved the beautiful presentation of the food at the bistro. The buffet at the restaurant offered plenty selection and was well priced for home-cooked delicious food. The spa was excellent and I just wish we had more than 24 hours 🙈

It was an amazing get away from the hustle bustle of life. Christine was amazing and attentive to our every need regardless of the ask. The staff were attentive and helpful and made every effort to make sure all 30 delegates were satisfied. The views are breathtaking, the A la carts food in the private dinning area was exceptional and one of the best crème brûlées I have ever tasted. The fire 🔥 place in the bistro was so amazing and arriving into my room with the fire going and my room dressed down was such a treat. The only thing I would suggest or recommend is that the coffee provided for conferencing is at the same level served on the restaurant.

This will always remain one of my favourite places! The scenery, service, food, effort, accommodation, absolutely everything! Love, love, love it! Thank you to all the staff, Thembeka, Claudia, Joseph, Queen and our brilliant waiter Albert! The attention to detail, the effort made to provide me with a wonderful vegan fine dining experience and also the great breakfast! I did not want to leave. Just a suggestion for the spa to also pay attention to the smaller details and to be more accommodating and provide a holistic experience — instead of saying we can't or we don't, take a lesson from Kloofzicht and Oevermeer staff and say, let's see how we can accommodate you. Will be back many, many times.

We spent our 10th wedding anniversary at Kloofzicht this weekend. What an amazing special weekend. The staff were fantastic and gave such attention to detail. The room was decorated beautifully with petals, roses and champagne. The dinner table decorated just as pretty with a special anniversary dessert. They arranged a picnic for us on short notice without any issues and all the food was to die for. Had the most relaxing spa treatment also ended with a suprise anniversary dessert. Was truly memorable. We will definitely be back.

We would definitely recommend Kloofzicht Lodge & Spa. My family, our friends and all of the staff members were so good at keeping a HUGE secret. The beautiful surprise came when my now fiancé asked me to marry him at this amazing lodge on the 17th of October 2020. EVERYONE was in on it and it could not have been more of a surprise. It was definitely the highlight of 2020 and we will forever be grateful for the amazing service, delicious food and very friendly and helpful staff. This place is a small heaven I Johannesburg. Its almost you in another country… stunning views.

We celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary at Kloofzicht Lodge and Spa this weekend. We were spoilt from the time we arrived for Sunday lunch until we left this morning after our fabulous spa treatment! The Sunday lunch was absolutely fantastic, so many choices and the desserts-wow! Our room was beautiful, clean, laid out with rose petals everywhere, champagne, and a stunning view over the dam and lodge. The breakfast was delicious. The spa treatment was nice, relaxing and very friendly therapists and we were spoilt again with a cheese and chocolate platter afterwards. All the staff are friendly, helpful and very professional, at the lodge and spa, thank you very much for a fabulous experience. We will be back!

Very relaxing environment. I tried fly fishing for the first time the Instructors were quite passionate about it. It was also awesome to see so many different birds and the free roaming bucks on my morning hike.

An absolute gem. Wonderful service, beautiful suites, topped by elegant dining at the restaurant. Great trout fly fishing at the main lake, and opportunity for bass and carp at the lower lakes. A wonderful feeling of being out in countryside, yet less than an hour from almost anywhere in Joburg.

Great conference facilities for our cradle LTA board meeting. Fabulous.

We celebrated our baby's Christening at the restaurant venue having Sunday lunch with a small group of family and friends of about 25. Since most guest traveled from Cape Town and are used to great venues, good food and wine we wanted to do something really unique and special to the area yet very comfortable and relaxed. Kloofzicht Lodge and Spa did not disappoint! From the stunning views, excellent service and food to the fantastic live music. Both grown ups and kids had lots of fun and we had a very memorable experience. I can definitely recommend it for a special occasion and we will most certainly be back!

It's absolutely beautiful for accommodation and the spa. Only reason I'm giving it a three star is because the wedding venue is very underwhelming. It's got so much potential to be an incredible wedding venue but the roof of the outside ceremony area is covered in cobwebs and the chairs are cheap looking plastic chairs with material covers. The reception area is not much better even though it could have an insanely beautiful view it's all closed in and stuffy. It's not very modern either which somehow doesn't fit with how gorgeous the rest of the place is. I think a wedding venue revamp is in order. It could be one of the best. The price it offers now for weddings is not worth what is on offer however if it was revamped it would be totally worth it.

It's an amazing place of serenity. A Great escape from the bustling city. The air is rejuvenating and something about this place makes you feel closer to nature. The dam is soothing and the quiet is awakening. The wildlife, hills and natural surroundings make for great views.

Been coming here for years — good location and concept but some rooms are in need of a good clean and regular maintenance, friendly staff but ridiculously low internet speed. Excellent lunch on Sundays & special occasions, but quality food not that great otherwise — had to eat elsewhere…

My mother and I had a wonderful experience at the lodge and spa.
The food at the lodge was absolutely amazing and they added some fun surprises during the dinner. I would recommend the beef starter and for the main meal seafood risotto as for the dessert, Blueberry cheesecake. The music however was not our taste but the atmosphere made up for it.
The bedroom, room 13, was wonderful with some nice decor, underfloor heating as well as towel rack heating and we also had a wide selection of teas and coffee as well as filter coffee. Management must just check the outside cushions as they were dirty.
As for the spa, it was very relaxing with wonderful food. We ordered a salmon salad and the waitress came by to ask if we wanted more salmon which was a delighted first for me.
I had a 90 min massage from Eunice which was fantastic, I would also recommend Shingai, for a hand treatment.
Living abroad and having experienced a lot of different hotels and spa's, I can honestly recommend them and will say that they deserve all 5 stars. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

Kloofzicht's petty "pay for everything upfront" attitude is incredibly off putting and completely ruined my experience. What's the point to visiting a such a beautiful place when you're treated like a criminal the whole time you're there? Want to order food at the Bistro? You have to pay upfront before we put your order in. Want to get a drink at the bar? Pay upfront before we give you your drinks. Want to a glass of water? Sure, no wait, pay up front now! Only after a room service attendant arrived at our room after 21:00 in the evening with a card machine and I complained to the umpteenth time about their petty off-putting policy was informed that I could have spend a food and drinks tab at check-in. Why was I never given this option? I asked twice to see a manager to express my frustration with this incredibly off putting policy and the poor communication from staff but they never made arrangements to see me. I suppose they want to read about it here like everybody else.

Kloofzicht is set nicely in the cradle of humankind in Johannesburg. It has fly fishing and other activities like archery. Great chalets and function venues for corporate functions and weddings. The food is excellent and the menu selection and service is great.

Very beautiful place and a good view over the mountains. Security was non existent, which made me uneasy. Restaurant is average with quite pretentious waitrons. The food we had was mediocre. This place has too much pomp for little substance. Espresso was the best ever. I did not stay overnight. It was funny to observe a big group of Russians (ladies were wearing unbelievable amount of rhinestones on their clothing), they were loud and very funny… one lady was singing along with a piano lady, and she was hitting pretty high notes…

We were at Kloofzicht 16/11/2014. We had booked for tea at 2.30. We arrived at 2.00 and was told by the security guard to come back at 2.30. We had to drive around aimlessly till 2.30. No service. A waiter did come 15 minutes later, said he will come back and never did. A hour after we waited, we had to ask for our order to be taken. The lady said she could only do the drinks order. We had to wait yet another hour for food to be served. We were seated next to a family of chain smokers and had to ask to change our seats. Food and service was DEFINITELY, DEFINITELY NOT 5 star. (We had international guests with us. This was dispicable and disgraceful.

As a fly fishing venue, not good. The water clarity is a problem. Lodge facilities are first class though.

It's set up to be a 5-star but I give it 3-star at best. The serenity/ambience/scenery/rooms, are all 10-star but a few things I didn't find acceptable. The 5-star rating refers to the physical set-up of the place and nothing on service delivery. 1) No internet in the rooms. In today's world Wi-Fi is a must. I come from a 4th world country and there's free Wi-Fi available in virtually every hotel you move to. I expected better from a 5-star. Internet is only available in the lounge area. 2. Security appears lapse. In a highly insecure country like South Africa, you expect some king of "presence" of security personnel. I was there for one week but didn't see a single security personnel. 3. Yes there's DSTV but I wonder how they cannot have CNN or BBC on their menu. In addition to the fact that there's no internet in the rooms. In other words, the rooms are simply a resting place. Good as they are. Other than that, everything else was just average.

Be very careful, when arriving. My Nigerian friends where followed onto the property and held up in the car park. They had arrived directly from ORT, and every single thing they had, besides the clothes they were standing up in, was taken at gun point. This was 07h15 in the morning.

Loved the friendly staff, the serenity, the food. A great and wonderful place to get away.
