My husband had an unfortunate start with his trip due to a booking error with his flights on Travel Start… Airport Game Lodge re-booked my husband in for another night — with no fees and no questions asked for which we are very grateful. My husband checked in easily with the friendly staff and really enjoyed his stay everything from the animals the room to the shower. The price was also fantastic. Free shuttle to and from the airport was also offered and arranged. I cant wait to come and stay with my husband next time. Highly recommend!

Quaint lodge that puts a few wild animals in the yard outside your door. Plus you can feed them. Accommodations are spacious and staff friendly and always willing to help.

For the location and the short stay a perfect spot. Only stayed overnight and for breakfast. But enjoyed it.

Quiet and beautyful place. Beautyful rooms and comfortable beds. Staff went out of their way to make my stay pleasent and even assisted me in the morning when I had car trouble.

Nice place to stay, close to the airport and just outside the "dangerous" city of Johannesburg. Friendky staff. Unluckily we were there on the coldest day of the year (-3°C overnight). The good thing was that there were 2 beds, do we took the sheets of both beds. There was also a heater available, so we didn't freeze completely.

The Airport Game Lodge is perfect to stop in for a night before or after a long day travelling. The rooms have everything you need, are very spacious good value. The evening and morning buffets are well worth it. The grounds include a pool, hammocks, and sun beds. Even if you arrive or check out early, there is somewhere to relax. Make sure to say hello to the resident animals; you can buy feed for the Springbok, Ostrich, Dik-dik, and Guinea Fowl.

A good place to stay and rest when you just arrived at the airport. A bonus is that they come pick you up when you've landed.

Great stopover in Johannesburg — relaxing place to spend some time if you don't want to do Jo'burg!

Beautiful place and very relaxing… The bedding is so comfortable and the staff are very friendly.

You get what you pay for. Comfortable, Clean rooms. Evening Buffet offering does not seem to change. Not too far from the Johannesburg OR Thambo airport. Well suited for basic group travel.

Not welcoming. Food uninspiring and 'CHEF' treated us like unwanted children lucky to b there. Rooms were good size and clean. Poor lighting. Would not recommend.

It is close to the airport and each room look out on an area containing wild animals.

Absolutely fabulous. Beautiful surroundings, and the rooms are cosey and inviting. The food is excellent, true South African breakfasts and the most delicious dinners. The staff are professional and the guests are made to feel welcome. The whole experience is truly amazing. I will always recommend Airport Game Lodge.

Beautiful location and lovely rooms available. All ages welcome! Classic breakfast spread and a swimming pool with all the necessary amenities you need to be comfortable during your stay. The little nature reserve on the premises is such a bonus — watch the wildlife roaming free while hanging in a hammock under a tree — bliss!

Unfortunately I am the bearer of bad news, and to be honest, I am sorry to share this. But as the customer service gurus say, if you don't say what is wrong, the provider don't know what to work on… This place definitely has potential to be great, but may need better maintenance and improved proficiency in what is offered to customers.
— My wife and me shared a room, there were no rails for our office clothes. The hangers were at the bottom of the closet, but no rails.
— The shower doors were stucked and loose.
— It seems the drain was partially blocked; the shower floor filled up and so did the toilet (at times) when flushed.
— We attended a national launch of a NPC at this venue and honestly speaking, they are currently not up to the challenge hosting events:
— — The items they quoted for were querried by their front desk on the day of the event.
— — The catering was not privided as requested by the request for quotation.
— — The catering was provided late on the last day, so late that most of the delegates already left to catch flights by the time lunch arrived.
— — The person in charge of the catering acted rudely towards some of the delegates, to be more specific, towards one of the NPCs Board members.
— — Setup of the venue started in a disaster when the chairs and tables still had to be hired and delivered on the morning of the event.

One tends to forget that you're still in Johannesburg. Child friendly and a serene relaxing atmosphere. Definitely a place to return to if you just want to relax. Friendly staff, beautiful animals and great service overall. Will be a regular here with our family.

Excellent customer service. Free airport shuttle just make sure you let them know your arrival so they will be there to pick you up. Rooms were spacious and breakfast was very good which included sausages, bacon, made to order eggs, toast, juice and coffee. I really felt like I was in Africa because their property houses animals including ostriches and more!

Wi-Fi advertised but no Wi-Fi once I got there!
