Sumptuous food. Abd good music.

Good place to stay at Honiara, safe and good location. Dont hesitate to ask reception if something is to be fixed. Interresting long term rate.

Interesting hotel that is significantly above the local standard of living. Two air conditioners per room, at least one will work. Pizza is surprisingly good, breakfast comes with the room and is worth walking over. Weird tracked gondola thing only works if all the safety doors are closed. Expect to get stuck half way up at least once. Would give three stars but it would be unfair given the surrounding community. It was clean and maintained. It's a hotel, not a resort. It is dated and needs repairs but has a lot of character. On a side note, the King Solomon Hotel is located at the base of Hill 84, part of the "Matanikau Action" during the WWII Guadalcanal Campaign.

Probably the best sea food dishes in town.

Bad news: Hot water 1 day out of 7; Power shuts off about 10 times per day; Staff appears undertrained or undersupervised: housekeeping (left me with no towels or tea in room, the kettle — when it showed up — was dirty on the outside, and I should have checked inside before using, and my belt went missing (not saying it was stolen but also not sure how you lose a belt) ), lobby (same sticky rings on coffee table in lounge all week), Front desk (could not print my receipt, promised to send by email, did not follow through). Good news: Restaurant was good (when they got the order right or had what you wanted), free breakfast, room was pleasant (other than the divot in the mattress), people were nice, and the ambience/decor was pleasant, if dusty, and the room rates are economical. Nothing wrong here that proper management can't fix. I can recommend it if you have a sense of humour about details.

King Solomon Hotel is absolutely amazing. The staff is more than welcoming, both from the reception, cleaning ladies, and the restaurant. Everyone in the hotel gives you the impression that the King Solomon Hotel is a home away from home. I have stayed there three times so far, and I plan on coming back every single time that I visit the Solomon Islands. All my gratitude and kindness to the entire King Solomon Hotel staff. Cheers! Good accomodation OK food service.

Staff not very overwelmed friendly. Didn't even understand what I asking for and found it hard to reply in English. Bad experience on my arrival at the hotel. Was not assisted well and was not shown were my room was. I had to ask for assistant from a female staff. Location good and rooms spacious but need replenishment inside of the room. Had clorine in the old jug, hence got bad stomach ach on the second and third night. Staff respond to expetriate very quickly, but not the Pacific Island neighbours as I am new to the country and the hotel. Tina, house keeping staff was very friendly I should say. Many old expetriate who were always entertained by the young female staff. Music from the bamboo club downstairs too noisy every day. Pictures posted on the web does not reflect the actual picture upon arrival. Need to reboost the reception, looks too old. Staff chewing betelnut and working and even asks customers at the bar to use their lighter to light their cigaretts. A very extraordinary experience for me, thus I have never seen staff in hotels doing that when I travel around. Rate too expensive.

Friendly, family — owned hotel, with strong local atmosphere. Entertainment several nights per week. Sits on "Hill 84" of 1942 fame. Easy walking distance to several good restaurants and across the street from Australian High Commission.

The kosher food was not kosher! * The Pictures that was shown on their website are not real and has nothing to do with what we actually got. (Bait and switch) They show you extremely beautiful pictures when you pay. A week or two prior to the vacation the website was updated with the true pictures.
