READ BEFORE YOU BOOK! This hotel is not worth the price! This is definitely not the standard of a 4 star hotel! The room we received had a disgusting bath, walls full of rust, floor broken and with bugs, low water stream and the bath decides by itself to change the temperature of the water. For me as a 6 months pregnant woman, it was a nightmare!

WARNING! This is the worst hotel we've been in Portugal! Definitely not a 4 stars hotel and the value for money is definitely very very very low! The level of room maintenance is ridiculously poor. The bath wall is rusty, the water stream is very weak, and the water temperature keeps changing every few seconds, regardless of your choice between cold and hot. The bath floor is broken, dirty and if that's not enough, it's also full of bugs! My wife is 6 months pregnant, and we told them in advance that for one more night, we will not pack our things and move to another room because it will be too much of a bother for her. It's ridiculous to take more than 150 euros per night in this kind of hotel. Save yourselves and don't book in this hotel!

A great historical building in the heart of the city, just a stone — throw from the river. Although there is no parking, the underground parking near the Chamber of Commerce is only couple of minutes walk and perfectly suitable to leave your car overnight at affordable rate. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful, breakfast is great. Rooms are furnished with beautiful quirky pieces in harmony with the spirit of this building, which was once a printing house. I would love to stay there again and highly recommend.

Aamazing central location with old world charm. Beds are modern and very comfortable. The restaurant has old world charm and a nice breakfast buffet. If you upgrade, the mini bar is free. Bathrooms are modern and the amenities are also quite nice. The location is in the historic city center just steps from the most amazing restaurants. Very close to the river on the city side.

Porto is the most amazing city we have visited. The atmosphere buzzes with excitement. Around every corner is another surprise. From the moment we stepped in the front door, staying at the Porto A. S 1829 Hotel has been a highlight of our 5 week holiday in Spain and Portugal. The position of the hotel is perfect, the staff could not be more helpful, the rooms are cleverly laid out to make the utmost of space and the buffet breakfast has been our best. You’ll love it!

Loved every aspect of this hotel. It is amazingly located in the midst of everything at the end of the road of flowers. The staff welcome you with a port which is a nice touch as you check in. A great restaurant for breakfast with the traditional spread and also a great view from the room into the city. The superior room was amazing and worth the little extra.

We spent two nights at the hotel when we first arrived in Portugal. The hotel is extremely well located near the São Bento railway station and near the hustle and bustle of the riverfront. There were plenty of great restaurants within a five minute walk from the front door and the square adjacent to the hotel featured a number of buskers performing throughout the day. Cindy at the front desk was exceptional on check-in. She upgraded us from the standard room we booked (without our asking) and did her best to track down my "lost"cell phone by calling the cab company that had taken us to the hotel — it was later found in my briefcase. The hotel restaurant was on the expensive side, but there are so many options to eat near the hotel it wasn't an issue for us. Highly encourage you to stay at Port A. S. 1829 Hotel!

Lovely, well appointed, clean and comfortable with great in-room amenities and friendly, helpful service! Loved our honeymoon stay here and would return in a heartbeat if back in Porto! The hotel is in great location and very accessible by public transit from the airport or elsewhere. We took the train on the way there, and then a taxi to the airport for a flat fee of 25 euros. Walked everywhere else, other than the fabulous coast (recommend the tram for this, which is fun and inexpensive). The only other advice I have for visiting travelers is to bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper (the seagulls / birds can very loud). Also, take advantage of the breakfast (12 euro / person) at least one of the days. Well worth it.

Lovely hotel right in the heart of the historical centre. Its quirky with some. O ely fearures like the old fashioned teephones in yoyr room. The ultra modrrn light touch pad not so great. Our room looked out over the Rua des Flores. The staff are very friendly and the service is great.

Staff are super friendly and helpful. They greet you with a glass of port and custard on check in which is very nice! The rooms are beautiful and very clean. The location is central and you can walk to all the major sites in central Porto. The breakfast was the best that we had on our trip (we stayed at a number of places). I would definitely recommend staying here. Note : If you have a room with a terrace be careful leaving the windows open as mosquitoes will come in.

Refined and typical cuisine, fresh and quality products. Bold combinations made without missteps, such as raspberry vs. Beetroot dessert: delicious. The meat is very well cooked, tender and melting wild boar. Well-translated card and French-speaking waitress who warn in advance of dishes breaking. The servers are large enough and are not intrusive, there is little waiting.

Cute little hotel right on one of the main pedestrian streets not far from the main touristic attractions. The rooms are a bit bizarre with a bathtub in the main area (which as you can imagine floods all the room) and a very small closet. On the plus side, the view from my room was epic and the location very good. I wouldn’t have liked to stay more than a day there though.

My parents stayed in a large suite with a den. Both rooms had a small balcony facing "Rua das Flores" and its terraces. The staff offered "natas" and port wine to celebrate our arrival. We had dinner at the restaurant downstairs and we're delighted by the delicious dishes. We would definitely come back again to this hotel in the future.

A lively little hotel in a great location for walking to many of the must see sights of Porto. Clean simple rooms, complimentary toiletries, water, tea/coffee facilities. Good restaurant reasonably priced, extensive breakfast buffet. Friendly helpful staff. Really enjoyable stay here.

Lovely square and hotel in classic Belles Artes shop. Very centric so rather busy. A little too much in the tourist centre for my tastes but wonderful building in a convenient location with all of Porto centre at your fingertips.

Wonderful stay in a real true boutique hotel. Excellent location and room was quiet, with black out curtains. Modern inside, great bed. We slept so well. Breakfast was included and was lovely and served till quite late. Would stay here again. Service at front desk was phenomenal. Actually quite an historic building — used be a paper store. Very interesting to hear about it. Great option when staying for a weekend in Porto!

By far, this was one of the best hotels I have been in in Europe in its class. Price was reasonable, but recently it seemed to have increased substantially. It seems that hotel prices have increased quite a bit in southern Europe within the last couple of years in dollars term despite the drop in the value of the euro.

I been in the restaurant of this hotel, and it was of the great experience. The food is superb! At lunch you can enjoy a full experience Menu, with starters, main dish and dessert, with a fixed but quite accessible price! Before being a hotel, the building was an art shop, and this feature/signature is still present in the deco of the hotel. Definitely worth to visit!

The best place ever! My husband and I came in Porto in November 2016 and as soon as we arrived, we found a nice and welcoming reception staff. The room was comfortable and very clean. Excellent breakfast. We had dinner at the hotel's restaurant two times during our stay, and we found a fresh variety of fish and vegetables. As for me, I would have stayed forever. Thumb up for this wonderful place.

A very well located hotel, next to the pedestrian street of Las Flores. The deal is very good, they greet you with a glass of port. They have an arrangement with a parking nearby to offer a better price.
The rooms are nice, modern and clean. The bed was spacious and comfortable.
