The hotel is placed spot in the middle of downtown.

Worst hotel experience I have ever had. Ever… constant construction… and all he could say is we apologize. Construction going at 1AM! And then the manager has the nerve to argue with me and tell me that didn’t happen. We are supposed to be having the trip of a lifetime and here we are too tired to remember half of it…
NEVER AGAIN. Stay away from this location.
Something this extreme as to having and entire hotel of upset guests… after zero sleep and 2 fire alarm…s in 2 days… and there is nothing they can do? I can only imagine how they would handle something minor… I understand that it’s the courtyard attached to the hotel… he reminded me of that and told me they have a notice on their website for 6 months… we booked a year in advance… and no one notified us at check in or we would have just left to a different hotel right then. Awful… just avoid it… worst 2, 000.00 usd I have ever spent.

Waited 4 hours to check in — each time we asked, they said it would just be a few minutes. Unprofessional and refused to compensate us for our wasted time.

Good hotel, cosy room although the view from the windows was on the roofs being on the eighth floor. Very varied and hearty breakfast. The only flaw is the difficulty in arriving because Oslo is full of detours and work in progress and in this the user should be informed (we always travel by car)

Centrally located in Oslo. Great variety and huge selection for breakfast. Recently renovated so it is modern and nice. Given the massive heat wave in the Scandinavian countries, it was fantastic that they are the only air conditioned hotel we have seen on our 2 week tour!

Low 5 but one nonetheless. Their breakfast is great, among the best I've had in Europe. The rooms clean and quiet (granted we got the top floor) and great location.

Good hotel with nice breakfast, free coffee and fruits in the reception, central location. But during my stay in May 2018, there were renovation going on, so a bit noise during the day.

Centrally located Hotel in Oslo, close to the National Theatre and the royal palace, the staff are friendly and always smiling, the rooms are clean and large enough, the breakfast is exaggerated… very good and rich!

Nice Hotel, directly in the city. Many attractions of Oslo are in walking distance. + very friendly staff + very good breakfast + good size of bathroom / shower + quiet — small room with small queen bed — no temperature regulation by guest possible — can't get fresh air via window or door If I stay again in Oslo, I will choose the Cecil again because of the friendly staff and the breakfast.

The place is nice-the city center and the promenade nearby. 5 minutes to the Metro. Very quiet due to the fact that the windows of the rooms overlook the atrium. And the street itself on which the hotel is located is not noisy.
The standard rooms are very small but cozy. There is a standard ironing facilities, tea-coffee-kettle, mini-bar. What I still liked-warm floor in the bathroom! And many more pillows:-).
Put three stars because there were problems with the provision of the room-there was no shampoo in the shower, the towels used were taken away, and new did not put. Trivia. But they consist of a general impression.
But there are very tasty breakfasts!

Clean, comfortable and friendly hotel in a central location. It's our 'go to' hotel when visiting Oslo. A good choice of food for breakfast. Recommend for business or pleasure. Close to transportation links, plenty of places to visit within walking distance.

Friendly staff, clean nice room with underfloor heating in the bathroom, great breakfast buffet with special ambiance. The city is almost on the doorstep. Would stay the hotel again and again.

The room was small and a lot of noise both nights, no window on the outside but on an indoor patio and flush with the breakfast room. We were in the window.

Great location with a wonderful, warm staff. Just a few steps from Parliament and the center of Oslo, they took wonderful care with my wife who was ailing during our time there.

Small room, wasn't cheap. Breakfast is ok. Wifi needs to be logged in every time you are back at the hotel. Very expensive parking (37 euro per 24 hours).

Perfect central location, many sights within walking distance as is the metro/train station and other local transport. Friendly, helpful staff throughout. Clean rooms and public areas. Spoilt for choice at the buffet breakfast. Great value for money as we stayed 7 nights and got 40% discount. Would definitely stay here again.
