Absolutely loved it! Amazing view from both the rooms and the restaurant. We had a double room which comes with it's own balcony and bathtub. The dinner and breakfast was great and the dining room is very relaxed. If you go to Geiranger this is where you should stay!

We almost made the mistake of staying in one of the large "famous" hotels in town. Fortunately my travel agent suggested we would like the Grand Fjord Hotel more, and she was most correct! Personalized service, avoid the chaos that always surrounded the large in town hotels. Wonderful views of the Fjord, much more peaceful and quite than being in the middle of all the chaos of as many as 5, 000 cruise ship passengers that arrive each day and make downtown a bit chaotic.

Very cool hotel. Stopped here for the first time for two days. I really enjoyed it. Good rooms, comfortable beds, location. For a 3 star hotel it was just gorgeous. The hotel often has electric cars, which can be rented for a while to ride up to some waterfall. Rooms with balcony, made as a deck. There is a restaurant and a bar!

Beautiful hotel, with a great view of the ferd and tasty breakfasts, not enough spa and white robes, and so all super.

Amazing hotel! Beautiful rooms, stunning view, great breakfast (for non vegans) very friendly staff. We would definitely come back and recommend it. The breakfast lacks vegan options, or at least lactose free options, otherwise we would haved rate it 5 stars.

Great location, close to everything. Rooms are very outdated, but have great views if facing the fjord. Breakfast buffet is decent.

We stayed at Hotel Geiranger for a night in August 2016. We arrived in the afternoon and check in was quite fast. We got room 818 which was a room with a fjord view. I was told that I could park for free outside the hotel but there were no available spaces there so I had to go down to the waterfront and even there it was tricky to find a place to park. But it is easy to walk back to the hotel. Once we walked into the hotel room the first thing we noticed was the beautiful fjord view – the hotel has a prime location for that. But the second impression was that this was an old school room. The room had wooden floor, light yellow walls and had the standard furniture that you would expect in a room. We had booked a kingsize bed but this was not the case – it was just two single beds pushed together. The comfort was good and the duvet was good. Apart from that we had a small sofa and chair around a table and a tiny flat screen TV on the wall. I know you are not in Geiranger to watch TV but it would have been good with a larger TV and a better selection of channels. Outside the room we had a small balcony with two chairs and a table. There was a desk and chair but the small fridge under the desk was both empty and unplugged. There were not that many points in the room for charging our various devices. The wardrobe contained an ironing board and iron but there was no safe. The bathroom was small with light tiles, a small basin and a bathtub with a shower option.

This is a THREE stars hotel. The location of this hotel is what distinguish it from other hotels. It is close to the lake and close to where all other shops located, two minutes walks. However, it lacks the services that usually seen in FOUR stars hotels, like no safe in the room. It is also hard to find parking in the hotel parking and you have to park in the near by public parking. BTW, the view of the lake is great from rooms that are facing the lake.

Very nice hotel, amazing view of the Geiranger fjord. Breakfast is pretty varied although the beds could be better at this rate.

In front of the hotel, there's a small outpost to rent kayaks (warning ~$180 for 4-5 hours). Kayak up to the Seven Sisters, then across to hike Skageflå

It is a hotel with stunning views. Our room was very wide, with simple furniture and a large, but a little outdated sink. Had terrace and spectacular views of the fjord. Great breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff.
