Love this place been here before will be back.

A little bit cold, but did the job for a 2 day trip to hanmer. Walking distance to the pool and restaurants.

I have been going to Hanmer for 20 years and staying up there. We stayed in Aspen lodge for the first time on 29 July 2018 in a two bedroom room. Due to the heatpump motor on the outside of the wall sounding like a noisey motor whirring for 5 to 10 minutes and then clicking on and off all night, I did not get one wink of sleep. When I came home and this morning a day later after we stayed in Aspen Lodge, rang the owners, the wife was rude and asked me "what do you want me to do about it? " as if it was something I had done wrong and then when I said is that your last word on the matter she passed the phone to her husband saying to him, this lady is irate. A total lie, I was not happy that she was so blase about my loss of sleep because of their heat pump. It was a freezing night btw and in the end I figured out it was the heat pump not the bathroom fan and got up and turned the noisey unit off. Meaning no heating in the motel. Her husband said he would get the heat pump man to check it. I said and so what else would you like to do about it? We paid $230 or more for one night for the room for 3 adults. And he got angry as well. I am amazed at these peoples' attitude. I would have, if I was them, be falling over myself to keep my customers happy, because Hanmer is a small place and word gets around.

Nice place, everything I need, warm and clean place, bed was comfortable and great shower.

The host Dave was fantastic. We got a one bedroon apartment with spa bath. Very cozy and clean. Thanks for pulling off a surprise birthday card for my husband. He was so thrilled.

The motel is well located in a good central location. It is very comfortable well maintained and tidy. But most important of all it is earthquake proof and I know this because we were staying here when a 7.5 magnitude earthquake struck. The hosts Sue and Anna were the best. Thanks

What a lovely find! The manager/owner is so helpful, the apartment is a great size, and our bed is huge… Lovely location, very central feel very welcomed all mod cons. What else could a couple need. Well done. :-)

Stayed at the Aspen Lodge Motel over Waitangi weekend and Bill and Sue the hosts couldn't do enough for us. The rooms are clean and spacious. Motel is extremely close to the hot pools and restaurants. Thanks Bill and Sue for making our stay that little bit more amazing. See you next time.
