Good value Monday's lunch steak special.

Didn't stay at hotel but had meal at restaurant which was excellent. We both had steak dishes and absolutely perfect… best we have had in years. Well above "pub food" level. Reasonably priced and comfortable dining area. Friendly, fast service.

Wonderful service. Didn't have to wait long for our food or drinks.

I do not know the hotel, but the restaurant is very beautiful and the card is excellent and not very expensive. Beautiful building and staff friendly and attentive.

Very nice hotel, good location and very friendly staff.

Don’t be fooled by the dated decor as there is incredibly good food served here. Recommend the scallops wrapped in bacon as the entree. Wine lists are incredibly limited which surprising given it’s got a front of house pub but then again it’s Dargaville so maybe not so surprising.

Had lunch there today and everything about the experience was excellent. Historical ambience. Perfectly cooked meals that were huge and very reasonably priced. Efficient, personable waiter. Worth a trip to Dargaville just for a memorable meal.

Good food, great service and friendly atmosphere.

Food delicious, location in middle of Dargaville Township, accommodation very old and outdated but rooms were clean. Just watch out for the mosquitoes and with the pub downstairs on Saturday be prepared for a little bit of noise.

Ear plugs — that's what you'll need if you're planning to spend the night in dusty room of Northern Wairoa Hotel. For $95 per night you get a dusty room with squeaky floors and worn carpet, with no phone, cobwebs on windows, dust on dirty curtains, no television, no shampoo and a loud music in the night from the bar below. Only one electrical wall outlet per room. Good parts — free Wi-Fi, friendly staff, bed is ok, bath tub (could be cleaner though) The building has it's own character inside — like an old mansion you've seen in horror movies. It's a good place to have a meal in a restaurant downstairs, to enter as a visitor, but not as a hotel guest, oh no.
