Very disappointing for the country rock festive, extreme staff storage, and service appalling for the amount of people at the venue.

Friendly and smiling staff. Went to the bar 2-3 times during my stay at Paihia. Loved the coffee, perfect cocktails. Enjoyed each visit thoroughly. Venky at the bar is a superb guy, very helpful and serves with a smile. Recommend the SD originals cocktails on the menu.

Amazing rooms with all amenities and services. Small sit out amidst nature. Awesome food and friendly hosts.

Located at Nice and quiet location of busy Paihia.

Checked for gluten and lactose free options via a phone call. They returned the call with all the items that could fit the diet. The service was fabulous. Normal menu is a la cartel but there was a conference on, so they were offering a buffet. They still let us order from the menu. Reasonably priced and a lovely atmosphere. Will go again.

Clean room clean bathroom with personal hygiene products in my opinion very good. Country with many activities proposed. Too bad it's spring winter now.

We were there for 4 nights for the blues and jazz festival. Staff were brilliant, unit was nice, venue for the entertainment worked well and the winter special made it great value.

Very nice, modern hotel. Room was excellent, very clean bathroom. Nice grounds. However, I shared the place with two large tour groups, and they were clearly priority. They filled the restaurant that evening, and breakfast was no better. All the tables that were actually laid were either occupied or had reserved notices on them. I ended up getting some food and setting up my own table in a corner of the bar. I was clearly an afterthought. So, in conclusion if you stay here under normal conditions you’d probably give it five stars, but if there is a tour group go somewhere else.

Brilliant hotel in the bay of Islands. Have always stayed at the Copthorne, however after the incredibly comfortable beds, very friendly staff and superb service, Scenic will be by new regular for business trips.

Rooms are nice, pool could be heated. But the Wi-Fi is shocking! Don't offer Wi-Fi if it is going to be dial up speeds.

For the money not overly impressed … first impression carpet edge nails into my feet as I crossed tile / carpet … room serviced but did not replace coffee or sugar sachets. If it was explained to me that scenic had infact over booked 39 rooms for the labor weekend I would of stayed elsewhere.

3 night stay and a very pleasant one. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and the linen and towels were well laundered, towels were lovely and soft. Toiletries are provided and replaced daily and they also provided a small bag for you to take home the ones that have not been used, which I thought was a very nice gesture. Plenty of car parking and if your lucky you can park outside your room. Tea and coffee provided and there’s a fridge that can be used during your stay. Hairdryer, iron, ironing board, umberella and even a torch in the room. We also used the safe at no extra cost. Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent helpful staff, nothing too much trouble. First hotel I've ever stayed in which has a dedicated gluten free toaster.

Huge rooms with 2 king size beds & a balcony. Located about a 10 minute walk from the sea front with restaurants & bars but we ate in the hotel restaurant couldn't be bothered to go out & well the steak & chips was delicious & not expensive. They do have happy hour but you only get $1 off each drink. Not a very big pool but we don't swim so didn't bother us.

Nice hotel with good location. Clean large rooms with a large bathroom. It takes only a few minutes to walk to the beach and to the city you don't need too long. There are many restaurants in the area, but you can also eat very well at the hotel in the restaurant. The breakfast is versatile and there is fresh fruit.

Nice size room comfortable bed, friendly staff, big complex — good for functions.

A nice, clean, comfortable room for the night. Basic kitchen amenities — kettle and microwave and some cups, plates ans utensils. They allowed us to charge our electric cars overnight for no extra charge. They had some 16amp blue caravan power points as well as some 10amp 3112 (normal household) power points. The site itself is visually attractive and very near the beach and restaurants.

Modern. Clean. Efficient. Very welcoming. One of the nicest hotels and a very short walk from the shore, town and pier. The restaurant was average with just warm food rude restaurant junior let everyone else down.

The staff are friendly and helpful. Just wondered why the deluxe room still has and old LCD TV? Stayed in room 503 and it has a new LG 40", beautiful for those rainy days. Otherwise all good.

Very disappointing. For a place to be named "Scenic" it should have some kind of view. This place has none. It's not near the center, but on the edge of town. There's no air-conditioning in our room. Wifi is painfully slow. Staff is slightly less than friendly. It's very overpriced for what it is. There's no way this is a 4-star hotel. It is, however, clean and spacious. I wouldn't stay here again for the price.

Beautiful Hotel and apartments a short walk from the Paihia main street. With plenty of rooms look out for great last minute deals. Highly recommended.

I was very pleasantly surprised at how modern and well maintained the hotel rooms were, even though we were in the older part of the complex. The staff were all very professional, pleasant and obliging. I only have two suggestions. Don't use powdered eggs for breakfast and allocate parking outside the rooms so that guests don't have to tote their luggage from where ever they are able to park.

Good location and nice modern room. The shower was very small though so this was a concern for my partner who is over 6 foot and found the tiny space rather annoying. The room although lovely and modern is very dark! Although, to be commended is that it is only on one level and a cottage style design — so quite pretty. Close to the pool, bar and restaurant, Hotel reception staff are excellent to deal with.

Another fantastic stay. Great accommodation to suit most budgets. Wonderful buffet breakfast. Very attentive staff who even helped us out in the middle of the night with sick children. Peaceful attractive surrounds and only a short stroll from shops, cafes, beach and activities. Looking forward to visiting again.
