As a consultant I often find myself in hotels/motels throughout the country for 2 or more nights per week and thankfully, interactions with the majority of the staff are similar to the two wonderful women that I spoke to whilst they checked us out. These two ladies on the front counter were wonderful, bubbly, happy, polite and served with a smile, which ended in us leaving with a smile and great start to the day. Unfortunately the service I received at check-in was rather disappointing. I called late last night to see if there were any rooms available, the man on the phone was polite, when asked what time I intended to arrive I advised him within the next 1/4 of an hour. He told me that this was no issue and we would sort the reservation upon arrival. When I arrived, my partner walked in first when she said hello, she was greeted with an unintelligible mutter. Once I got to the counter I was greeted by this man, and he quickly identified I was the person who'd recently called. My partner thought maybe she hadn't heard him properly the first time so she'd try again, she proceeded to ask him how his evening had been so far to which she received yet another unintelligible mutter. This is when I asked him to repeat his answer as I didn't hear him the first time his response then being "it's ok" She attempted one last time and was completely ignored, which frustrated me so I asked her to sit down on the seats in the foyer.

Overall good service and nice bar/restaurant. Room was decent and tidy — just not a fan of the closet style bathroom.

Room was missing basic things like a hairdryer. Couldn't swing a cat in the bathroom, my 70 year old mother struggled getting in and out. Was a twin room on the ground floor. Staff were not particularly helpful and it seemed priority was given to wedding guests attending the hotel next door. The concierge wouldn't even arrange a taxi.

Small but clean with great friendly staff. Nice sheets and towels. We stay here often for a cheap work overnighter.

Bit too noisy on a Friday night didn't get much sleep. Plus charging $15 to park car there was a bit on the nose!

Great place very friendly and helpful staff nice tidy rooms and very high standard of cleaness.

Nice staff very helpful. Small minimal rooms. If you like space book the big sister Novotel next door. Bar food and breakfast were great.

Great Hotel. Easy to find and very central. Staff are amazing and always helpful. Rooms are a bit small but all you need. Would recommend to anyone.

Staff great and friendly service good on 1 of the 3 days house keeping was average but great the other days.

Pretty good spot resturant is quiet pricy but Nice clean and convient.

Don't take the "upgrade" option for the king-size bed, with one side severely worn out. You'll find it's two singles zipped together. We entered our room to find wet towels on the floor, shower head was broken and the sinks plug was also broken. Clearly no attention made to the rooms between guests. The gaps under the doors are also high enough to let in light and most of the noise from the hall and elevator. Parking is extra and not included in your stay, which isn't advertised until you park. The staff liked to argue when presented with issue on top of all this. Honestly, Drive the extra 10 minutes to the waipuna hotel and Confrence centre and stay there.

Very nice rooms, albeit sightly small. Feels very modern, and everything worked great (breakfast was awesome too). Only complaint is that the outlets are all on one side of the room, which makes things somewhat difficult if you're on the other side.

I love this hotel and have stayed there three times and am booked to stay in the new year. Staff are very efficient and friendly, food is excellent and rooms are always clean and tidy. I highly recommend.

Nice compact room. Was perfect for what we needed. Could make a coffee ☕️ as jug and cups supplied. Great service when we booked in. Being a member entails you to free Wi-Fi. Only issue was the tour bus stop over and Chinese tourists talking loudly to each other in the hall way late at night, slamming doors with no respect for other patrons. There is a fee for parking but is a camera monitored car park. To get power put your room key in the slot.

Used conference facilities. Staff went out of their way to resolve any problems. Restaurant and bar were nice and spacious. Whole ground floor area well designed and spacious. Rooms functional. Grounds nice.

The hotel was booked by my work place, and I will be advising them not to put up anyone else here. The costs were covered by my workplace, however I was still required to handover my credit card details. Wi-Fi was only free in you joined their loyalty club. Check in was exhausting. Power is activated by the key card, however no one bothered to notify me of this on arrival. Rooms all down one long corridor, and you hear everyone coming and going and slamming the doors all night. Didn't eat there, as the food was overpriced for what it was, and there was an extra $5 charge for room service. The hotel is located on a busy roundabout, and is hard to access. Wouldn't recommend.

Room has all amenities needed, shower had good pressure and heat-although the bathroom setup did feel a little like you are walking into a portal loo! Everything was nice and clean upon arrival. Restaurant staff were amazing in their customer service and the food was fantastic. Concierge was also lovely.

I only stayed 1 night but the staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking was an issue but I used the racecourse park. Food was very good, I had dinner and breakfast. Rooms were clean and tidy.

Check in process was easy. Staff were friendly and informative. Found our room easily. Room was clean and as described. Only downside (we are not regulars at hotels) was that we had an issue getting TV and electronics working. Turned out we needed to put our key card in slot by the door. As the lights still worked without this we were a bit confused. There was also a loud party going on outside until the wee hours of the morning which disturbed our sleep. Overall however we had a pleasant stay and would recommended Ibis Ellerslie to others.

We were looking for a quiet night with a nice meal. Easy check-in on line. Good parking. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Room was suitable clean & tidy. Meals nice and well presented.

Great hotel short stay. Loved the complimentary later checkout time. The Wi-Fi offered was generous, easy to use and satisfying fast enough to actually work too. Nice flexible approach to parking including allowing a mid evening excursion without adding more charges. Bed was comfortable and shower was nice and hot. What more could you want.

Rooms are OK, the bar is the best part. Easy access to motorways going all directions.

Room was nothing like the photo shows. Very small, dated, dark and malodorous. It's to late to turn around and book else where once you enter the dated and dinghy corridor to the left of the facade of the entrance. Window view was a wall right outside. Two out of two nights unable to sleep due to sounds of neighboring doors opening, closing and bathrooms being used throughout the night. Air conditioning vent rattled while it was going and the window was not one that could be opened. Wouldn't recommend the place to anyone.

Poor and confusing website design, where everything on the same web page with no categories and lack of information on literally everything.
