Super nice old fashioned Dutch hotel. The art is amazing and placed everywhere. The rooms are luxurious and high standard. I really enjoyed my stay. I do recommend.

When travel and stay in a small town, we prefer to have a quite environment. Unfortunately the pub is belong to the hotel and is just right in front of the building. Hard to believe that a 11pm, can hear the music very clear, it is not only the music is loud but also sound proof in the room is poor, perhaps it has non, we are regret booked thus hotel, luckily only one night.

Amazing hotel full of history and beautiful art work. Wonderful setting by the water and a little beach. Breakfast fantastic and so fresh. Thankyou for a lovely relaxing stay x.

Me gustó mucho este hotel. Bien ubicado dentro del pueblo, muy cerca del mar y con habitaciones con terrazas con preciosas vistas al lago. Muy buen servicio de habitación. El baño es un tanto pequeño y la ducha tiende a salirse el agua dentro del baño. Tienen además un restaurante muy bueno, de buen precio y excelente y buen ambiente. Sirve para quedar con los amigos y tomar algo. El parking es espacioso. La atención en recepción es cordial. Un poco lejos de Ámsterdam, conviene para aquellos que andan en coche, puesto que el transporte público puede llegar a ser costoso. Tienen muchos cuadros en las paredes de pinturas de artistas que solían hospedarse aquí. Comida buffet nada fuera de lo común.

Ok, just about. The drive to get to it once in town is absurd, and not warned of. So here is a warning, do not try to get to its “car park” unless it the early am. It’s the tourist hotspot along a pedestrianised street. GPS hates it. Room cleaning very poor.

An oldfashioned wellplaced Hotel, Friendly Stuff and Tasty food and Drinks Restaurant and Pub. Great sight vom Terrace and a Lovely seepromenade next to it. On the other hand there were a big Party in the Hotel the day we arrived, which we allready were informed about the noise during check-in.

Awsome location, good food, good caffee and very nice staff.

That is no longer a nice place to stay for individuals or families. This hotel is now focused on organized trips, so don't expect to have a nice breakfast time, or pleasant service, as they are just too busy. I had an apartment for 4 person, the second room was dirty with lots of spiders on the window, looks like nobody was taking care of that for long time.

Horrible. Very slow service, inexperienced waiters, simple kitchen. We were a group of 30 people, and more than one, we were without dessert, due to the slowness, lack of coordination and poor management. They say it's a historic place, okay, come in and see, but don't even think about eating there.

The room was very comfortable. Breakfast at 0900Uhr everything was empty and it was cleared. What a pity! Were here before and totally excited.

The advertised one is a part that we, Italian group, have not made sure to see. Bad, old, dirty and smelly rooms. Really sucks. We had the feeling of being teased. High prices and indecent treatment!

0erfect location for short stay. If travelling by ferry from marken to Volendam then hotel is located at 1 min walking distance. Bus stop is 10 min from hotel. Hotel has nice big spacious rooms with back side facing sea.

Very comfortable the hotel, very far from the centre of Amsterdam, is well worth the port where it is located.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable.
Getting more, a swimming pool and a sauna contribute to a good relaxation.
I advise to have breakfast there as it is hearty and good quality.
The speciality of the restaurant of the hotel is the plate of assortment of fish, to be discovered also.
Small downside, the employees do not speak French, only Dutch and English.

Locatie en personeel prima. Diner en ontbijt niks speciaals. Was in orde. Kregen eerst een kamer met uitzicht op een muur. Dit werd keurig opgelost doordat we een andere kamer kregen. Het is een oud hotel maar wel allemaal schoon en netjes.

Very good hotel, rooms of quality, cheap, very friendly city and close to Amsterdam, do not hesitate to come here if you want to spend your stay in Amsterdam!

Friendly and generally very nice without sticking. The only problem could be the very expensive breakfasts, around €25, but you can always go outside for breakfast. The room was very small and comfortable. The mattress is very soft, although it is very well-rested.

The location of the hotel was very good and you could easily reach Amsterdam by bus. Room was clean and tidy. The breakfast was varied and delicious.

Looks like a gallery art, fantastic for art and culture lovers. Very charmfull hotel with a incredible view to Markenmer. The swimming area with saunas is nice as well. Close to volendam Marken ferry, handcraft, cheese, cafes, bars and other shops.

Definitely recommending it to people visiting Volendam! It's got a great historic atmosphere and the food is good too. We didn't stay the night (just had lunch), so can't comment on the hotel facilities.

A very nice hotel with lots of charm right on the waterfront. Staff very helpful and food delicious. To complain only trifles such as paper tablecloths for breakfast and damaged towels.

Beautiful public spaces. Better in real life than in the pictures. So full of character and history. I chose the de lux room and asked for a room with a balcony. Initially I was given a corner room which only had a small balcony so I asked if I could swap for a room with a full balcony. Loved Volendam, but it does get very busy at times and this room overlooking the water was the perfect place when I wanted to escape the crowds and look out over the sea. Overall really happy with this hotel and glad I chose it. A few details could be improved and would upgrade this to a five star. The bathrooms would be improved by adding better bath mats. The existing bath mats are very thin. It would also be great to have individual bottles of shower gel, shampoo and small bars of soap. Soft toilet paper would also be an improvement. More attention to detail when servicing the room in the middle of guests stays would be appreciated … for. Example the beds were not made very well and the bins were not emptied. The box of tissues was empty and it would have been great to have had a refill… The hotel has no room service and I would have loved a tasty snack in the evening, such as a cheese taster board, or for, example, prawns with a chilli dip. Having said all of the above, I would still choose this hotel again.

Fantastic hotel in Volendam if in the Netherlands it's the place you should stay.

Good location but photos not corresponding to the real. Small and old room, bathroom unpresentable for a price all in all pretty high.

Interiör old but very clean. Staff are very friendly and a balcony with ashtray is probably the crowning for a smoker. Would return at any time. Highly recommended!

Public toilets are hard to find in Netherlands seaside towns. When my younger son and I were there in August 2014, the tour guide suggested we use the toilet of the hotel. We did use it and deposited a coin or two on a tipping plate to show our moral responsibility!

Beautiful hotel, great location in the best area of Volendam. Breakfast was good, friendly staff. Reasonable price. A bit noisy during the night, many bars playing loud music nearby. Parking space available for guests, but costs EUR5 per night not included in base price.

Volendam and Art Hotel Spaander are inseparable. The best thing is to try. All the rooms are beautiful but the ones with the sea view are beautiful.

Came for its restaurant, ordered tuna salad, fish and chips, one of its dessert. Noticeably free Wi-Fi and toilet.

Prima "Hollandse" locatie.

Traditional and warm ambience. Fine and tasty cuisine.

Big hôtels with small rooms. The spa is nice and the food at the restaurant is good. Globally efficient but not wonderful.

Had a very dissapointing dinner here. For a restaurant in a traditional fishing town serving this type of captain iglo fish. It was a disgrace. Veggies from a can to add to the insult. Volendam has really nice food to offer. Just not here. The fish and chips place directly across the street is a safer bet. And that is saying something.
