Location, location, location! Add, nice breakfast, helpful and friendly staff and good bar in Lobby can’t go wrong! The only complaint I read online was the small rooms, and yes the room is small. But the super comfortable bed made up the small size. I want to take our mattress and linens home with me! Max Brown Hotel made my first Amsterdam visit easy and pleasant. I’ll be back!

Beautiful hotel, good location, good place to stay for holiday.

We stayed there from 21-24 August. The rooms were extremely small, very very noisy the caffetteria was very unhygienic. And we end up being ROBBED. We found out only on our way the the airport and we emailed the hotel. They investigated but we didn’t get any coin back and was not a small amount. And I also saw from their TripAdvisor reviews that many clients have been robbed. Good luck!

I stayed here with my friends for 4 days and everybody from my group was stolen from. We has three rooms for 7 girls and we were all missing money when we left from the safety deposit box. The hotel did nothing about it. Do not stay there. The rooms are very little and its dirty. Attached is the proof of how the hotel acted.

The hotel is in a residential area. Very quiet & upscale neighborhood.

Rooms for 2 people extremely small, but customer service was absolutely fantastic. My granddaughter wasn’t well & when I advised the team of Max Brown that she wasn’t well they sent up a tray with fruit, hydration juice & a little bear — couldn’t ask for better service. Well done Max Brown Team — you should be very proud of your selves.

Staff very friendly, hotel looks cool but you can't hide old deco with coolness… Our bathroom and room was clean but shower was broken and ventilation was not working at all… BTW no air conditioning in rooms so make sure you like souna conditions during summer… Great location close to museums and trams to city centre.

Cosy Hotel with a very nice Ambience, right in the middle of the Museum district. The Staff are very friendly. The Rooms are not huge, but very nicely furnished and very clean.

I personally like the hotel, it's cozy & all the staff were very friendly. The room that we got *small & narrow — coming from America, it was a very good experience. Their breakfast is ok. Just to get you started with your day. My wife was very happy cause it's just a walking distance to shopping stores. :) Thank you to all the staff & Selma for job well done.

I am still unclear what "urban" means for this hotel, the location is quiet and ideal for museum lovers, also the connection to the public transport, first we had a room under ground level, after complaint then on the 3rd floor — here was then the view I. O. The rooms are very small and simple but clean, the prices are unusual high (650, — for 2Pers. And 3Nächte), but for Amsterdam probably so normal! The breakfast is also accept (bread, buns? )

Very cozy place. The heart of Amsterdam. 2 steps from Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and Moco. Recommended.

Extremely poorly insulated and a bit dated in the common areas, will suit to spend one or two nights.

We stayed two nights in this hotel no longer welcoming, warm and clean. The calm, the neat decoration, the care of the small details and the attentions of the staff just as helpful, warm as discreet make the Max Brown Hotel Museum the ideal place to reside on Amstardam. At 1min lines 2 and 5 of the Tram, and close to strategic location… this hotel is just happiness!

Hello were here on a Kuztrip and the hotel was lace friendly staff breakfast was delicious! WLAN worked well. It is near the center have bus practically never used because you can walk (or by bike) price top I would recommend to my friends immediately.

Very nice hotel, so modern and at the same time old fashioned furnished. Staff very friendly. The only thing that bothered me a bit is that the rooms were small and the windows could not be completely opened. Is very close to many museums, otherwise you can reach from the hotel also everything with a small walk.

This is a great little hotel for the price, would recommend to anyone visiting. Friendly staff, cozy rooms and an elevator so you don't have to use the stairs. It is a short walk to the nearest restaurants and there are pleanty of types of food. Lovely atmosphere in the bar that's open day and night in the reception. Being in the museum district, there are many sites to see very close by. Check in to this place if you are coming to Amsterdam for a relaxed time.

This is a lovely hotel. The staff are welcoming and friendly. There is a bar in the reception that is open all hours. It is a short walk to the tram stop and restaurants, that offer a large variety of options. It is also just a short walk from a few popular sites. The rooms are clean and cozy and the beds are very comfortable. There is an interesting lift from reception to the different floors, this saves from having to walk up spiraled stairs, unless you intend on having the included breakfast where you will have to walk down some steep steps, consider this if you have difficulty with stairs. Overall a very lovely stay in a hotel with an interesting decor. Ten out of ten, would stay again.

Enjoyed our short stay. Staff friendly and conscientious. Breakfast was a good standard. Room and bed comfortable. Ideal base for museum quarter with reasonable cafes, and restaurants nearby.

The receptionist is very nice, the room is very small, the hotel has a very special feature. Close to the Van Gogh Museum, there's a big casino hotel and a bike to rent.

Young environment. The rooms are small clean and cozy. Not very big but provided with what is needed. Features with a unique style. The stairs to reach the floors are steep and winding, but still there is an elevator. Hotel Max Brown is close to the museums and not far from the centre. Breakfast is great. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.

Got a good room and had a good stay. A bit noisy neighbors which you can't block out since it is an old house with thin walls.

Hotel in the central area of the museums, furnished in urban style, tram in two steps, well connected with the central station, comfortable rooms, free of wardrobes, excellent and plentiful breakfast, staff and reception very kind. I highly recommend it!

The Hotel itself is rather small. But it's very urban and interesting. The room I had was REALLY big. But the bathrooms are a little small. Especially the toilet thingy is small. But as always: it fulfils the requirements! Stairs and lift are rather small. But this makes the hotel lovely ;) You can get breakfast there — it's good. All over: a nice and urban place to stay with a lot of wood in there. Atmosphere is pretty good. The hotel employees are VERY friendly. I would recommend that hotel.

Very nice hotel in the beautiful museum quarter, very small rooms in an otherwise premium hotel which is reflected in the price. Service was good & the bar was an exceptionally relaxing environment. My only gripe was how ridiculously small the bathroom was, at 6ft it was difficult to sit on the toilet without your legs being squashed against the sink.

Nice little hotel this. Loved the slightly steampunk feel to the decor and rooms. The rooms are small but efficient. The corridors are filled with various mirrors and the stairwell looked very steep, I chose to take the elevator. The breakfast was basic and limited seating and space so I deduct a star. Location is great for the museums and walking into town isn't to hard from here.

Nice design, good location (for museums particularly), warm staff, clean rooms but terribly tiny places. I mean it's hard to move in bathroom and narrow stairs can be dangerous for a XXL person.

This is the best hotel our family have stayed during our EuroTrip2017. Staff super friendly, room super big and location really convenient. The only thing that didn't work was the electric kettle in our room but that is not really a big deal! MaxBrown Museum Square, keep up with the awesome work!

As it's name suggests, the hotel is very close to the main museum square. Rooms are small but cozy and the room has some cute features/decorations. The walls are fairly thin so there's potential for noise, but not a huge problem (in a similar vein, leaving the window open can be noisy in the morning). Speaking of windows, there are no screens and no air conditioning from what I can tell, so it can get warm. Breakfast is pretty good although the area is also small. Stairs and hallways are narrow but there is a small elevator. The rooms are cute but the hallways could make for a decent horror movie set as a result of multiple mirrors. Overall a good experience and a pretty cute hotel.

Great one night stay at Max Brown. The lobby area and room were really quaint and had a cozy feel. The room had wood paneling and included little amenities like a dart board and mini basketball hoop. Location was great as well, within 15-20 minute walk of all the major downtown areas in Amsterdam. Highly recommend!

The room was small and the bed was sticking to the window. The windows were not double glazed so we had cold at night. The bathroom was a shower cubicle. I find the price high for the hotel services.
Otherwise the place is very clean and atypical. The staff are very professional and friendly. The breakfast is fine.

Very good stay! Room at the top a little small but when you are in Amsterdam the size of the room matters little, the bed a pure happiness, hotel clean and pretty, nice staff, super breakfast! Very well located tram just beside to make it to the center and has 20 min on foot we do not see them pass when we visit.

This was an excellent place to stay as far as location, since we were just blocks away from many museums, shopping (including Albert Heijn for groceries), the Vondelpark, restaurants and coffeeshops. The staff was always helpful and courteous. The only issue we had was in needing specific sleeping arrangements, which we did not double-check before arrival. Everything worked out about that ok, no worries! The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, with protein and fruit as well as fresh-baked breads. We wold definitely stay there again!

Great reception. While waiting for our room to be ready (arriving at 12:30, earlier than the usual check in), we were able to ask a lot of questions about the city and we were even made reservations for restaurants!
The rooms are small but comfortable and well decorated.
We had the right to a little special attention because the stay was planned for my birthday (2 beers offered and a Happy Birthday banner)

Hotel well located within reach of everything, rooms small but clean and finally a shower cabin arranged! The staff is nice and helpful! The Dutch are really nice and friendly… Amsterdam is gorgeous! I will definitely return, and I wouldn't mind going back to the Max Brown Museum Square! :-)

Perfect for a short stay to avoid if like me you are willing to stay in Amsterdam for a long time, in my case two weeks.
