The resort was absolutely beautiful, clean, and well maintained. The service was wonderful. The food, however, was lacking. Even the Mediterranean specialty restaurant that we went to was not that good. (However, I realize that I may have high standards as great food is abundant in Houston, where I live. ) Tips from my husband and my 3 night stay: Breakfast at the buffets are great. You really can't go wrong with omelettes and bacon. We had lunch once at the buffet and never went back. Everything was cold and, frankly, not good. After, we went to the shopping center for Mexican tacos or ate right on the beach. One day, they made a huge seafood paella right behind the bar! Go to the Rockstar Cafe for dinner whenever you don't have specialty dinner reservations. Yes, the choices are lacking, but the quality is so much better. I highly recommend the salmon. Kayak and catamaran are free for one hour with your stay! You can find the shack on the south end of the beach. They close for lunch from 12-1:30pm. Luckily for us, the weather cooperated during our stay. We had a ton of fun with these. We brought our own snorkel gear and snorkeled close to the beach. You can bring a piece of sausage and watch the fish swarm you. The drinks were weak. Despite asking for specific brands of alcohol and "doubles", they will try to sneak in the cheap stuff or pour less alcohol than requested if they think you're not paying attention. The lobby bar is better at complying with requests. Overall, for our first all inclusive Cancun experience, it was fine. We loved the beautiful beach (didn't use the pool at all) and we loved the landscaping and "wild" animals. However, the food was such a huge disappointment that we won't be back.
