Review of BRIC Hotel & Spa 3*

I stayed here with my boyfriend for our first vacation in Mexico and we loved this hotel! It exceeded my expectations. The rooms are larger than I expected after looking at the 360 tours. We had a ground room floor with patio facing the pool (small windows facing onto the street). The room was newly renovated and beautifully done, with good sized bathroom, TV, good sized mini fridge and all the comforts you would expect. My only criticisms would be the lack of shelves for clothing, and inconsistent shower temperatures. The patio was spacious and comfortable with chairs, large table and hammock and a beautiful view of the gorgeous pool area with lush tropical plants and relaxing cabanas. The pool and breakfast area really was lovely and relaxing so we spent more time there than I had originally planned. The breakfast is available 7-10am — it was not included in our Expedia booking but we bought it a few times at 100 pesos each. Really good quality and size. The staff are friendly and were able to help us with printing tickets, providing beach towels etc. Cleaning came every day. There is a security guard at night so it felt very safe. The hotel is a few steps from Fifth Avenue and a few minutes walk to a good area of beach (near Mamita's Beach Club, which can be very busy, but walking north the beach gets quieter). There is an Oxxo convenience store nearby for cheap beers and snacks. There are a ridiculously loud couple of restaurants on the corner at weekend nights with throbbing music, which did not really bother us (the air conditioning/fan in the room drowns much of it out) but it could be troublesome if you are a light/early sleeper. Otherwise, it is very tranquil during the day and most nights. We saw families here who seemed to be having a great time enjoying the pool and relaxing with their kids, as well as younger groups of friends there for the weekend. It is pretty well suited to all sorts of travellers. I would highly recommend this place!
