Reviews of Hostel Mundo Joven Catedral 3*
Great experience 🤩♥️ also offer highly recommended activities! Walking tour to San Juan market with Abraham visiting local gastronomy and tasting insects if desired! 10/10
Very good place I already stayed 3 times there and would do it again!
We stayed 3 nights and found the place safe, clean and quiet. In addition, they have 24 hour reception and breakfast is included. I would add some privacy curtains, but otherwise I loved it. The people who work there are very friendly and always willing to help. ❤️
Clean
Good location
The guy at the reception is very friendly. 😊
The staff from the entrance, reception, cleaning, cooking and cleaning, have a very human treatment towards the guests make you feel as if you knew them all your life and in general has a luxurious and relaxing view. I really enjoyed my stay when I can come back
Thank you.
The best hostel to visit in Mexico City.
Honestly the location is great, the bad thing, is that the terrible Wi-Fi, pull more data than their lousy Wi-Fi service, terrible breakfast, and served in pewter dishes very bad choice, terrible coffee, the elevator takes too much noise, everything is listening, everyone screams, everything smells like fritanga. But at the end of 😪
The location is great. Everything else is terrible. The Wi-Fi barely works — it disconnects regularly and has trouble loading web pages. The center of the hostel is completely open and rooms have wooden windows, so any sound echoes through the entire building and sounds like it's right outside your room. Which is extra awesome when the rooftop bar plays music from 5p until midnight. Literally every night. You have to wait on the elevator to get to your room because people come from outside to go to the bar and then yell through the hallways cause they don't care that people have paid to sleep here. I tried to actually go up to the bar last night to enjoy it and they wouldn't let me in. So I can't drink at the bar and I can't relax or rest in my room. Which sucks after you've spent all day seeing all of the amazing things Mexico City has to offer. The first day I went downstairs, saw the espresso machine, and asked the guy behind the counter if I could get a coffee. He said no, even though he was literally leaning against the counter looking at his phone. A guy at the front desk told us to get to teotihuacan at 8am to beat the crowds, even though Google says it opens at 9am. When we got out there at 8am, the guards at the gate told us they opened at 9am. So we got up early just to wander around for an hour. We asked the same guy about laundry facilities and he told us to go 3 blocks away to a laundromat. Then we saw a sign for laundry facilities on the 5th floor.
Excellent service, very good location, very good service and affordable prices.
I am very upset since more than a week and I have not generated a bill of a consumption of 600 pesos. I understand the contingencies, but the administrative can be made from any platform. I received a long and no reply to my request.
Excellent location, 100% staff friendly, very rich breakfast, good value for money.
Malisia attention from the staff. They're heavy, they're always in a bad mood. You can not rest NEVER the noise in the early morning is unbearable! They throw parties on their terrace from Thursday to Sunday and thousands of people come in, nodding until about 3 am! I wouldn't really recommend it. I stayed here right now a few years ago and from that time here the quality has changed a lot! Malisima experience!
Very good service, good rooms and very good location.
The rooms are ok for the price, but they are not accessible, a friend came from far away and in the fourth of us was above and beyond a bed, we offered to pay for the extra person and they said no. The security guard didn't want that to happen with an attitude very grocera.
The hostel is excellent, there is a lot of security at the entrance… In addition it has breakfast buffet style… Like many tourists I saw somewhat negative comments before booking, and I didn't know if it was the right hostel, but I realized that people put things that aren't true, they are malicious people, in my opiation it was a very good place because everything is close to you. It has good service, security, the rooms are cleaned, and best of all is that it is close todoooo. @yir ae.
Great location, affordable price.
What I liked most about this hostel is the excellent location that it has. It is in the heart of the Historic Center and you can reach many of the sights on foot. The metro is also a few steps away if you want to travel to other areas of the city. The hostel staff is friendly and the rooms are clean.
I'll stay here again on my next trip.
Very friendly and helpful staff, great rooftop bar. Breakfast is basic (bread, jam, cheese, cereal, fruit) but very good and you can eat as much as you want. The rooms without city view have no natural light because there are no windows, but they are very quiet and dark at night so I slept very well. I would definitely recommend this place and will stay here again next time I visit Mexico City.
The room was basic with a firm bed. Central location. The terrace with the view was very nice view of the flag in Zocalo and the National Cathedral and the whole scene. But the terrace is connected to the kitchen terrace shared by all so it is only semi-private. And the rooftop bar overlooks the terrace as well. And the bar was active and very loud until 11:15 p. M. The hostel stay requires 5 steep awkward steps before the elevator. They held my bag free for a day. And put a chair in the shower since I have a broken leg.
Surrounding very loud on weekend nights especially. Bathroom door handle was coming off so it was hard to close and lock. Booked a all women's dorm and had men sleeping in it. The hostel was clean but it needs to be updated a little fix the door and sturder bunk beds would be nice. Location was great though and staff was friendly.
Premium location and nice staff. No soundproofing or real windows in the rooms, you can hear anything and everything from someone walking in the hallway to using the toilet. It can get loud being a hostel environment and the rooftop bar. They can do a better job with the hygiene.
The experience is very good, the staff is friendly and reliable. I found friends very cool, security is fine and I had no problem. Highly recommended place.
Great hostel! Located in the center of the city, overlooking the square, beauty!
Awesome location in the middle of the historic district. Great rooftop bar with amazing view. Rooms are fairly minimum, no a. C. But fans and shared bathrooms don't always have hot water. Can be loud at night on upper floors especially on weekends. Front desk extremely helpful for bookings etc and the restaurant downstairs is delightful. Would stay again.
Never stay there, that's a dance club rather than a hostel. Drunk people screaming out loud till late hours in the night. That's because of the terrace club they have. Rooms are way different to what you are offered in pictures. I could not sleep AT ALL! this has been the WORST hostel ever during these years of traveling the world. I am sure the street is a better and more peaceful place to sleep than this "hostel". What a HUGE mistake was it to choose this spot.
This is not a review of the hostel. Just of the bar. Beautiful rooftop with great view of the Cathedral. Limited food menu, but lots of drinks for a very cheap price.
Would not stay here again. The shower didn’t drain, so we were stuck in inches of dirty water whenever multiple people showered in a row. The noise is the real problem. It seems like all of the rooms have windows that open up to a central section that goes up to the roof. Any noise in other rooms, the lobby, or the rooftop bar travels through this area into all of the rooms. The bar would be blasting music until after 3am on weekends (even though quiet hours start at 11pm). Then breakfast and the lobby would start playing music early at around 6-7am. Even in between those two times other rooms were playing music and making lots of noise. What is the point of quiet hours if they aren’t enforced at all? Our room key was reset about once a day and would lock us out. We had to have it re programmed by the front desk. Just a nuisance. Other than the complaints, the beds were alright, the service, and the breakfast were fine.
A group of four of us had a great time at Hostel Mundo Joven Catedral. The room was clean and the toilet/shower worked well. The beds are small and uncomfortable, but that's my only complaint. Service was very good and the rooftop bar is great as always.
Yes I am very pleased to report that this hostel is one of the better I have been in the world. Room was fine (for a hostel), They have a night scene on the top floor called The Terrace which is chic and a fantastic view over Zocalo Square. You need to understand how hostels work to enjoy them. You sleep with other people. Like that and you will love Mundo Joven Catedral.
The Hostel is super well located, just behind the Cathedral, the area is safe to arrive on foot until late. Very close to the subway.
The facilities are comfortable and clean, the breakfast very good to start the day. They also Have a terrace bar which in the evenings has very good atmosphere, ideal to go upstairs for a drink after a day in the city. The view is amazing.
Pro: good showers, decent kitchen, strong Wi-Fi everywhere (max 3GB per stay), good places to socialize on the terrace and club on top floor. Coffee available for free all the time. Breakfast is cereal, fruit, toast, yogurt. Dorm beds have own outlets and lights. Luggage storage is convenient. Cons: bring earplugs because the club is loud every night, doors slam even when you try to be careful. Rooms are hot and we just had 1 fan in a 6 person dorm. Bottom bunks suck if you're tall. I wouldn't stay in the double rooms because they are right next to the elevator so I expect they might get loud. Beds and pillows are a bit lumpy — good for a few days but I wouldnt want to sleep in them for too many nights. Heard a few things about thefts out of lockers (thieves broke the lock) and of laptops.
I spent 5 nights here and most of the nights are SUPER noisy and no one from the hostel to stop them. The breakfast is one of the best that I have ever had in any hostel!
Comfortable location, practical rooms, clean in general, everything works properly, good service, attentive, friendly. In general everything is fine.
Great location and adequate breakfast. I have stayed at this hostel many times, but unfortunately it is showing its age. The rooms are dirty and the bathrooms are even worse. The last two times I have stayed here, I only did so in order to catch my flight back home the next day. It is a decent place for a one night stay, but for anything longer I would look elsewhere.
It was a pleasure to have lived a beautiful experience in your hostel, thanks for your attentions shown during our stay and that on another occasion we hope to live again, Atte. Israel Velazquez! Best regards.
I frequently travel alone so I try to find safe and pleasant places, the reservation was great, the cost for one night was less than $200 and I received complimentary breakfast, it was a great experience as the people I met were friendly, we are all travelers as well That there is a lot to talk about, you will breathe an amazing multiculturality, the guy at reception was incredibly friendly, despite being away I felt comfortable and safe, the location is excellent and has a lovely view towards the Zocalo, it was invaluable, it is a place that You definitely have to visit.
A very good place to spend a very good time, with live music, bar, kitchen, a very good atmosphere, excellent to meet people from different sides, among many things. It has an excellent view and is a place very close to any museum or cultural center. I recommend it completely. He earns his five stars:).
The location is convenient for all things in the Historic City Center. The private rooms are VERY small and very hot. There is no AC or fan (I asked for one), but also no ventilation. I was prepared for the loudness at night (because of the very fun rooftop bar with the best view! ), but I was not prepared to be woken up every morning by crying babies. The people at the front desk seemed like they were inconvenienced when I asked any questions.
He's a little sloppy. But for cheap. Here's the place. They're understaffed.
No ambiente&coziness. Feels like being in a hospital. The terrace opens on weekends not before 6 p. M. Besides the big tetrace the small¬ comfy kitchen with a small terrace are the only socialise areas. The bunk beds moving with every movement. So nothing for sensitive sleepers. Breakfast nothing special.
Only positive things: Location and nice personal. Not recommended.
Amazing view of the historic center from its terrace-bar. Live music is available on weekends. Relaxed atmosphere.
The location of the hostel is unique, very close to many places, facilities and important spots. The staff very nice, good price and clean rooms. I would recommend it to my friends to save money and have a great environment. It definitely recommend it in my YouTube channel.
The location is the best thing about this hostel. The cafe down stairs is average. The bartenders up stairs are the kinds of bartenders to take your money and not give you change. Basically all the servers/bartenders there expect tips for bad service. Its kind of ridiculous. There were cockroaches in my room too. But the hostels location makes it such a good spot. The roof top bar upstairs was freakin all about groups, everyone had their own group going so if you are traveling alone this is something to consider. Average hostel. I would do a one or two days here and go to another hostel if I were you, or just skip this one all together.
An affordable hostel in a good location. The bar at the top could be a little cheaper but overall I'm satisfied with my stay and happily recommend this hostel to others. It can be a little noisy at night but this is typical of a city centre hostel so if you're looking for relaxation I would stay elsewhere, otherwise, join the party and enjoy yourself!
It was a very good choice for my short stay in Mexico. It's the 3 B Good, Nice and Cheap, in a positive sense.
I think they should improve the website because the reservations are a little confusing.
Thank you.
The only good thing is the location. They lacked cleaning staff, understand, but there were very dirty parts like the kitchen and computer area. The bedroom that touched me was full of garbage. The internet isn't working well. The beds are comfortable and the shower has hot water.
Lousy. They always give the same breakfast, a lot of noise with the terrace, they say there is laundry but then there are never coins, the bathrooms are not so neat and the kitchen has almost no utensils.
Sometimes we get to ask something and they would tell us one thing and then another.
The only positive thing is that the rooms are suitable for winter and there is good privacy, I do not think they are suitable for summer.
No towels. Light everywhere. Dirty bathroom and Unknown noises coming from every where. If you like to rest after walk this big city you better choose another place. Cheers.
Good value for money hotel.
The hostel has a really nice common area with a really good breakfast included. The rooms are basic and with almost no daylight, but clean. There is a really nice terrace with an awesome view on the cathedral, but it closes very early, such as the common kitchen. This makes get togethers after 11 or 12 pm impossible. We were thrown out of the kitchen around 12 pm by very unfriendly staff. It would be nice having a common area in order to be able to hang out with other people at night.
The only redeeming quality this hostel has is the location. Extremely rude, unfriendly and unhelpful staff. We couldn't believe the contrast between the lovely nature of people in Mexico City to the abhorrent attitude of the people who work in this hostel. The rooftop bar sounded like a very appealing feature but in reality it's just a bar that is open to the public and not a nice backpacker vibe at all — one night there was even an office party and we did not feel welcome. There are no other communal areas apart from a little balcony but you kicked off it at 10pm because thy want you to go to the bar and spend money. My jumper was stolen from the kitchen and my friend didn't get a blanket on her bed and was told there was none left when she asked for one even though it's super cold at night in Mexico City at this time of year! The breakfast situation is laughable — very poor choice and it is meant to be between the hours of 8-10am but if we went down after 9.30am we were told breakfast finished soon and that there was no coffee in an extremely rude and non-accommodating manner. They also try to clean up your breakfast plates while you're still eating. We complained and we're just told sorry. We are now in a lovely, backpacker friendly hostel in Guadalajara for cheaper and the contrast is unbelievable. Please choose somewhere else to stay unless you want to be treated like a child at 24 years old.
If you like to sleep this is not the place, at least ask for a room on the lower level of the building if possible. But if you like tequila shots and bass music this is it. The roof terrace is a bar/club at night, mostly filed with locals not traveling guests. The beds are okay but definitely not the best. The staff was also only okay. The cleanliness is what you can expect from the price. The lockers are a good size, fits a big pack. The breakfast I simply don't understand, very very poor and boring, 4 out of 5 mornings they didn't even have coffee?. But in the day time very good food comes out the same kitchen, and you get 15% discount on one meal in restaurant. The location is perfect right in the centrum. But I would try another place if I ever came back to Mexico city.
My experience at this hostel was great. Safe, clean, good service given that it's a hostel. It was pretty busy which meant that there was always an opportunity to meat other travelers be it in the lobby, one of the many tours offered or at the terrace bar. Additionally it's located in such a central location with so many things to do right around. Highly recommended!
The positive: The location, good Wi-Fi, and lots of warm water from the shower.
The negative: Unfortunately, the rooms are very uncomfortable. The bathroom and toilets were not cleaned and we were able to find residue of the previous visitors.
The neighbouring México City Hostel offers much more and is, above all, very clean.
No recommendation for this hostel.
The lockers are a good size as is the dorm. It was nice to have a lift. The beds were comfortable and it was helpful having a fan. However the cleaner clearly never looked behind a door as there was dirt behind the door to the dorm, the one to the shower and the toilet floor was covered in hair. The shower curtain was mouldy and stuck to itself. There was toothpaste up the wall by the hand basins. The terrace bar was very loud at weekend and went on until 2am. The smell of fat from the ground floor restaurant was really unpleasant; may I suggest an extractor fan. The stairs and the foyer floor were dirty too. I would not stay again.
I have stayed in this hostel 3 or 4 times on various trips to CDMX. The location is great if you want to be right in the middle of downtown/by the Zocalo. The social scene at this hostel is really top notch — it's pretty easy to mingle with just about everyone in the kitchen and on the little kitchen terrace, and the bar upstairs is sweet — killer views of the city, a nice breeze, great lounging spot. The free tequila shot they give you is also a nice little bonus. The downside of this hostel is the noise at night though — per the construction of the interior, which actually is a very cool space/atrium the sound travels up and around through any of the rooms that share a wall or windows with the atrium. This isn't quite a big deal I thought when drunk people come in late at night cause that's bound to happen. But what bothered me more was that either the cleaning ladies or the volunteers setting up the breakfast downstairs would play music on their cell phones everyday at like 7 AM, and they know that every sleeping guest upstairs can hear that. Now I know that they have a job to do and are helping the hostel get started for the day, but if the early morning workers could keep the music down that would really make for a more peaceful sleep for the guests (hint hint).
Complaints were ignored or weighted off. The shower and bathroom were full of hair and dirty, my demand for the cleaning service was only ignored, then I was comforted on the next day. When the room was still not clean in the afternoon and the gentleman at the reception told me that neither he nor anyone else would clean the room, I decided to check out. However, I was also denied this by him, he just said I nerve him and he doesn't want to see me in the hostel again. The boss was not in the house, he said, and could not do the checkout until the next day. When I protested, I was suddenly shouted at leaving the hostel and insulted in the process ("Vete al carajo, " "Pinche pendejo, ya no te quiero ver aqui, " etc. ). Several employees watched and did not intervene. I walked completely perplexed and angry from the hostal. The next day I was able to arrange a meeting with the boss, who eventually showed more understanding and pledged to pay me back two out of three paid nights. Today, about three weeks after my stay, contrary to the agreement, half the money (one night) arrived, since I would not have checked out in time for the repayment of two nights — but as well, I was denied this under insults.
I still find it unfathomable how I was treated there and can only warn everyone to stay there.
Staff were very rude and extremely unhelpful. I arrived early hours of the morning, I wasn't shown to my bed, when I got to my bed I had no pillow. I had to wait 15 minutes for the pillow. I woke in the morning and when I told the reception that I would like to change rooms, I was told no, but I can check out. Rude rude rude staff. I decided to check out and move to another hostel which was the BEST decision I ever made! It was way cleaner and friendlier. Would never recommend this hostel, breakfast is also very poor!
This place is dirty and depressing! I paid extra to have a private room and private bathroom but felt like a prisoner. The noise from the rooftop bar was expected but did not expect that the fan in my room would be so loud as well. The fan was the only way to get any air in the room as its all indoor without windows or a/c. The elevator went out of service n my second day and had to take the stairs up and down to the 3rd floor. I cut my trip short and booked a hotel for my last 2 nights because I just could not take it anymore. This place is a terrible, I would not recommend.
Hostel Mundo Joven Catedral was my home for my three week stay in Mexico City, and it was a great fit for me! It is situated in a great location, with many amenities (laundry, a computer lab, rooftop bar) that made the experience comfortable and pleasant. I would stay at this hostel again, if I ever find myself back in the city. The kind hostel employees/friends is a bonus!
It was very good staying at the hostel. The people I shared the room were nice. The staff was nice and I made some good friends. Would recommend it to anyone going to Mexico City.
From 5 stars to 1 star. Why?
1. — The water in the shower is cold
2. — The noise when people flush or do whatever is so loud.
3. — What happened to the breakfast? I have been staying in this hostel since 2015 and even this year in February and the breakfast used to be chilaquiles, hot cakes, eggs, BUT now only you give bread (one per person) and fruit and cereal. NOT a good choice you made.
4. — I know this hostel is called "Mundo Joven" but I really would like to suggest you that tell guests just not to yell at night. They might yell at the bar, I'm fine with that but then you find young and drunk and party people in each floor talking so loud, yelling.
5. — Also the internet used to work better before.
Anyway what most made me feel mad was the breakfast you were one of my favorite hostels, not sure if I'll stay here again.
Pros: Great location, close to Zocalo and surrounding museums, tour activities/packages offered at hostel, comfortable beds. Cons: The rooftop bar turns into a club most nights and especially weekends. Impossible to get sleep! Music blasts till after 1am. Open to non-Hostel guest that sometimes wandered the halls to find the bathroom. Pipes are located throughout the room, each time the toiled flushed it sounds like a water fall is in the room. I'd recommend staying elsewhere and visiting this hostel for its activities and rooftop bar. Getting a good night sleep here is slim.
I had read a lot of mixed reviews. Many negative about the hostel bar being noisy and kept people up late. I went in with those expectations. Had my room right beneath the Hostel bar and to be blunt, I was disappointed. The bar wasn't packed and wasn't noisy. Still I met new friends and everyone was really friendly. Staff was great and I even signed up to go to a Lucha Libre match. Maybe I was in Mexico City in a non exciting time and perhaps thus why I consider the bar to be dead, but than again I am from Las Vegas and it's what my norm is. If I were to have one complaint (including the showers where I had to press every ten seconds to continue to get hot water to resume my comfortable shower) than it would be yes, the room may get a little hot however I decided to book a hostel because I was going to explore and have the time of my life thus only to return when completely tired and would fall anywhere. I loved this place and will stay again and recommend to open minded friends.
The upstairs patio was awesome! Great views for days! They have something going on everyday. The breakfast is great for a quick bite and onward to the tourist things. They also have tours that pick you up and take you to the most popular sites. I had a wonderful stay, as well as my friends. The staff was great, it was clean and totally quiet during the night time. I would stay here again for sure! :)
Centrally located behind the Cathedral.
Breakfast was very good.
Everything is positive if not for the fact that even in this late hour you could hear people messing around, playing and singing.
Good hostel, great location, rooms are a bit cosy, Wi-Fi/internet on the upper floors is slow, the rooftop bar is closed for construction (it's 4 June 16 today) but there is a balcony on the floor below to socialise with other travellers.
Great place to spend a night… or several nights. Good price and location. People come from while the world so the environment is international. The terrace is very lively!
Good community here, great place to meet people. The loud noises from the bar and lobby can be disruptive when sleeping, and the bunks weren't my favorite, but the staff are helpful, the common spaces are good, and the location in the city is fantastic.
Excellent location. Very good service. The view from the terrace is great.
Please remove this. Got on by mistake snd I can't remote it. Favor de quitar este commentario. Gracias.
Good prices, great location, and a good place to meet people you can travel with or just for the company. it works the other way to and you can just mind your own busוness. and to get oriented with the big city.
Couldn't have imagined a better hostel to stay in Mexico City! Princes are absolutely okay, it includes an all you can eat breakfast buffet (mostly pancakes and eggs) and free coffee all day. It has a very nice terrace from where you can look on the cathedral and the zocalo. It could not be more centrally located! Moreover, it offers free walking tours or other great free stuff pretty much every day. Definitely one of the best hostels I've stayed in Mexico! Just make sure you don't use the laundry there as the money in the machine runs out before the laundry is ready and all the soap will still be in your clothes. Will absolutely come back to this hostel the next time I'm in D. F.
This conveniently located hotel, the price is not bad, you know a lot of people. The downside is that some people of the staff do not serve you very well by this concept that is and should be as relaxed and treat you as a "friend" rather than as a customer, in space at the reception in the evenings. On the other hand did not find it very clean and not to be a hostel, but feels a bit dirty and old. Outside of that you spend it very well and it is safe to.
Awesome location. Right in the centre of the historic district. They have something or the other going on every other day. And a great rooftop bar too. It's quite a big hostel, so the crowd is amazing, from all parts of the world. The Wi-fi ain't too good, but all the other facilities are good — clean sheets, good beds, nice bathrooms with hot water. They were out of locks for the lockers, so if you plan to stay here for a while, recommend bringing your own locks.
A good hostel for partying. I just regret the lack of clarity in the price as well as the lack of organization, my room was not ready when I arrived.
Two minute walk from the Zócalo metro station. Secure e-card entry. Friendly service. Free coffee all day. Excellent view from roof top bar.
Good service and facilities and an excellent location at really affordable prices.
Perfect for a short stay (1 day or two), but unsure for longer one. Love the hostel, perfect location, great bed. The fact that they had only one laundry machine was a problem for a longer-stay like mine. And when I was there the Wi-Fi was sporadic with 90% of the time it didn't work. Reported it to the receptionist who was indifferent to this problem. They did have communal computers but were limited for 30mins, but even if they didn't who had had the heart to let other people queueing for internet.
Very poor service. They do not pass messages, there is no telephone communication for the rooms. Bad because in case of emergency to talk to someone who is there hosted, there is no way. As was my case. Separate the receptionist mocking Ivan, when they should give good service, so be a hostel. As it says the.
It is a great atmosphere, you know people from all over the world, and very safe place totally recommended.
Landed at 5h in the morning with a cold in Mexico City, went to the Hostel, accepted that they could give me the room only at 14h, at 14h they told me they didn't have fresh linen, so I had to wait till 16 or 17h, at 16h they said fresh linen will be available perhaps at 19h. So, now already waiting 12 hours with a cold for a bed having a reservation. If you need a bed, don't go there.
Great, inexpensive, alright breakfast, cool staff.
Resteraunt downstairs sucks completely. Hostel is ok but not very homey or well repaired. Party on the roof all night is great.
Good choice, recommend it.
Hey rich eats, and relaxes one enough father, made many many people who come from all over, so it will always be with whom talk.
I'm very happy with my experience at Hostal Catedral. This was my first time in DF and the location couldn't have been more ideal, and the staff was more than accomodating. I was especially relieved that the staff knew English, which was very helpful for my weak Spanish. In addition to the helpful staff, I stayed in a room with 6 beds which had enough outlets to accomodate all of the guests and our charging phones/cameras. This hostel had a very fun vibe and different areas to hang out and meet other travelers. I would highly recommend staying here if you are in DF.
Hostal Catedral was perfect! They have security and are open 24 hours so I always felt safe, like they were personally looking out for me. Jorge on staff gave us tons of info on what to do around the city and the rest of the staff was helpful, way fun, and super personable. Its right in the center of town and easy to get around from just out the front door. The rooms are totally separate from the bar so when we went to sleep it was quiet and the beds were so comfortable! The rooftop bar (gooood times) was gorgeous and an awesome place to meet people. Met two new friends and ended up traveling together! Can't wait to come back, thanks Mundo Joven.
The hostel in general is okay but the bad thing is that it shelters it that give you Guel to blesses. The bathroom has no SOAP for orejotas hands, on the terrace you are forced aa consume and you can't take a coffee. From there on out excelete the very friendly staff and the people very cool. It has an incredible view to the socket all this very bn in general.

Terrible service! I called to ask for reports and the guy who answered me behaved super rude and despotic, I wanted to ask about a private room and he didn't even let me finish my question when interrupting he said in a bad tone that we wanted to book a date, I told him the date and commented that it had to be booked through the page and I answered that we were just calling him why the private room option didn't appear on the page… Shouting at me, he said, well, if it doesn't appear to you, it's because there isn't one! But at no time did I offer another option or did it help us at all, honestly I was ready to stay here in a private or shared room but if they are going to be screaming at me from the moment of booking I better not want anything.
SORRY FOR such beautiful FACILITIES and TERRIBLE staff 🥲
Don't waste your time and better look for another lodging option 😉
