27 Concubine Lane Hotel

The shops at Concubine Lane are meant for tourists (tourist price), some visitors may find them tacky, but it's a good place to find souvenirs. I bought a really pretty fridge magnet hand drawn by a local artist! Worth visiting as part of your old town tour.

Love the place but can be quite jam during the holidays.

Look up to see the old spiral staircase that is the main attraction for the lane that is famous in the 1900s. Lots of tourist shops here, dun miss out the hand made biscuits, ipoh famous coffee and snaps some pictures here.

There's really nothing special about this narrow and short lane except its peculiar name and maybe two or more shops that attract many tourists or customers. If you love the crowd, come here during public holidays.

Reminds me of Melaka. Just a short walk through for a taste of local delights.

In the good old days, the rich tin miners of Ipoh used to hide their concubines in the rooms on the first floor of these shophouses. This is to keep them away from prying eyes.

Feels like Jonker Walk, Malacca, lots of curios shops and local heritage museums nearby.

Beware of a China man offering creative and colorful chinese caligrafy. When asked he will say RM10 for a piece of hand written phrase or name of your choosing. But when done he will tell you it's RM10 PER WORD! I have enquiry him multiple times is it really RM10 for a four letter chinese word phrase, and he said yes each time. The man does have skills, but his method of deliberately conning customer on the pricing is very unethical.

A narrow back lane formed behind the rows of shop houses lined by souvenir shops, biscuit bakers and trendy gadgets. There ain't much to do or see here but a casual walk down memory lane.

Quirky snacks, antiques and art, and random souvenir shops. The lane is pretty short but still interesting enough to go check out.

It is about 100meter long road with various stalls and shops.

An old lane in between old shop houses in Ipoh "old town" converted into hip shopping street. This used to be a place where rich people kept their concubines in secret in the old days. You can find interesting street paintings at various corners here, tourist gift shops, cool coffee place to chill and more.

Unique place. But not so much to see. Quite small.

Crowded, historical, hot, and the beverage are expensive.

The place is very unique and very suitable of backpack travelling. The antiquity vibe is very cool too.
