For the price, it's really hard to make any complaints. Central location, close to riverside, cafes and food. Friendly and helpful family run Homestay. Generally clean, shower is hot, towel included, tea, coffee and cooking appliances.

Good price, complete with what you need. Definitely not for everyone (especially those who seek a premium stay, with free toiletries to thrash and humongous cloudy beds) but a very good place for backpackers. You need to be a little quiet since you're sharing the space with others. Other than that, the staffs were totally nice and helpful. Recommend!

What a perfect stay! Clean, safe, no road noise, dogs barking etc. Super clean! No weird smells. Best sleep I've had. A/C works great! Fast Wi-Fi. Mini kitchen area with some supplies and fridge so you can make simple meals. Coffee, tea, filtered water all day — bonus. Cheap laundry service. Staff (Raymond and his wife Barbara) and owner Adelyn speak very good English and are really helpful. Love the decor and plants. Pretty new, spacious rooms. Lots of common areas to socialize. And they accept Visa! I was supposed to stay 2 nights and I stayed a week! So lucky to find this place.

How do I even begin? This hostel is owned by a warm, super friendly, honest and hardworking family. The set up inside is so clean, comfortable, and spacious. They sell drinks, beers, and has a laundry service (the estimate is 24 hours but I got mine back in maybe 3 hours). So happy I ended up staying here. I think the word I'm looking for to describe this place is "homely". Oh, super affordable too. Locationwise, youre close to a few bars and restaurants. And maybe about 10-15 minute walk to Carpenter Street. Basicslly you are within walking distance to bars and food outlets. I would definitely come back here again. Lots of good things going for this place.

Perfect cheap little hostel with comfy clean beds and helpful staff!

This was my first time staying in a hostel and it was a great experience! The owners were very welcoming and actually upgraded us to the sunset homestay 2 after they had overbooked the sunset homestay 1.

Good location in city center. The property is clean, comfort and cheap. Although it is a dorm but still have our own privacy. A capsule style with curtain.

A great place to stay in Kuching. It was near a lot of attractions. The hosts are really very warm and accomodating.

I had a super nice 4 day stay at sunset home. The owners are so friendly and helpful. The place is very clean and the showers are very nice and warm. In the area is a lot to do like bars and places to have some really great food. The owners are willing to explain and show you everything. Thank you for the great stay!

Excellent place to stay, very convenient as the location is near to most of the town attractions. What makes me very comfortable there other than the clean and organized sleeping pod is that the homestay is run by a happy and helpful couple. Really appreciate their hospitality that makes me feel at home. Hope that one day will have the chance to go to Kuching City and of course to stay at SUNSET HOMESTAY again!

I absolutely love Sunset Homestay! The owners are very friendly and considerate as they make sure backpackers feel like to be home. I feel comfortable to stay here for 4 days 3 night! Thanks for their kindness and warm welcome. The place is a good destination which I can explore food and shopping places nearby by walking. I can easily take transports using Uber and taxis as well.
