High-end traditional Japanese hot spring hotel! Both dinner & breakfast are delicious! Room was very clean and big. But Wi-Fi connection was really poor. Hope can improve in future.
Out of the 6 hotel/Ryokan I stayed at in Japan (including a Michelin star ryokan) — this was probably my favourite! It is definitely Michelin star level, but for an incredibly reasonable price. We stayed for only one night but it was amazing. I used the onsen about 3 times — which was a great one I think, but I haven’t been to many onsen. They have everything there — from shampoo to makeup remover for you to use which I loved — a lot of attention to detail here. We came from Tokyo station — it was easy to reach if you ask a little or especially if you have basic Japanese skills. Very close to the bus stop, as mentioned on their website! Food is incredible and very generous in portions, even big eaters like myself were very full by the end. The breakfast was one of the best with a stellar tofu dish. All in all, if visiting Hakone I would definitely come stay here again — but maybe stay 2 or 3 nights so I could also see beyond the onsen and explore the town as well.

Beautiful rooms with private onsen. The dinner and breakfast was the best meals we had on our whole trip. Very friendly service staff. Easy to get to by the local bus. No commercial area around. Very quiet and isolated, if you want that kind of thing. The hot spring in this area, Ashinoyu, is also said to be the best in Hokone in terms of water quality. Definitely recommend!
