It really doesn't get better than this! The warmth of Japanese hospitality as you get a personal attendant attached to you. That means you get a turndown service for your bed. Also, breakfast is included in the cost. Do try to go for the communal bath to experience something truly Japanese. The attendant will explain to you Japanese bath etiquette if it's your first time. Last but not least, contact the ryokan beforehand so that they can arrange for a private kaiseki dinner in your room. It's a 10 course meal specially arranged by the in-house chef, featuring local delicacies.

Exceptional food and service. Hotel is a little old but very well maintained and had the option of in-suite bathroom. Highly recommend for a traditional Kyoto experience.

Very good, extremely comfortable beds. Slept well. The area around is also very beautiful! Not too big fan of the food though.

The ryokan is located starategically near train station but that is not the best thing about this place. The service they provided is top notch! Everyone from front desk, room attendant and porter is friendly, attentive and always try to help. We also ordered the breakfast set and it was lovely. Place feels kind of old including the furnitures but I suppose that is part of the charm.

Prepare to be treated like a king or a queen. Staff are incredibly friendly and the food is outstanding. Prices can be a little eye watering but you get your own personal attendant who caters to your every need and brings you haute cuisine in your room. Definitely worth staying a night or two!

Absolutely amazing experience. We we're lucky to have Yuu take care of us and she was a sweetheart. I cannot recommend this ryokan enough.

Very beautiful place. The food is delicious. The staff is very kind and thoughtful. I really enjoyed my stay here and I'll come back if I can. This was a wonderful experience.

The staff were friendly and the service was excellent. One of the best customer services I'm we've had in Japan. The dinner and breakfast was pretty bland so try to avoid the meal plan, if possible. Overall, I wouldn't recommend staying at a Ryokan in Kyoto. Save that experience in another quieter and scenic destination like Hakone.

Great traditional Japanese experience! The room was very clean and the service was great. They grabbed our bags at the door. Bath house was kept stocked. Very private. Didn't even know that the whole hotel was sold out until we checked our booking online. Convenient to get to but off the main Street. Would highly recommend.

Old shop. The service has no say. The place is very convenient, but not easy to find. The baths are a little small. The food is fine. The smelly old lady with a massage is not good.

Stayed in the room with the garden view on the ground floor. Food was good and public bath was experience. Decent enough staff. However, the noise from the road (cars passing) is just so loud that I can't sleep. Wide awake since 330.

Incredibly homey and awesome service. Very close to public transit/metro. The rooms are super comfortable and the open onsen was also super relaxing. I love the "maid" that took care of us. She was the top and has been there the longest — 40 years or so. She was amazing, loved her!

Excellent staff in a decent location. Garden view rooms are relaxing despite a busy street's best efforts at noise pollution. Food is also tasty and a treat to have in your room.

The location is good, near the Kamogawa River, The walk to Kiyomizu Temple 15 minute. Room lighting is bad, dark. Large bath on the 2nd floor, the stairs are very slippery in the evening fall, 1 week versatile good…
