As a foreigner, I cannot comment on the authenticity but what I can say is, it was truly a fabulous stay. The attention to detail and the quality of service was unparalleled. Our private onsen had a fantastic view and was one of the most relaxing ways to spend an evening. I would recommend it to anyone.
The courtyard in the room has a beautiful environment, and you can enjoy the scenery around the Togetsukyo Bridge; the room is well-equipped and the environment is comfortable; starting from the moment you arrive, someone will serve and explain the whole process. The attitude is very good, patient, meticulous and thoughtful; dinner and breakfast are both It was delicious.

Had an amazing stay here at Ryotei! Staff went above and beyond, you couldn't ask for more. We had the room w open air bath which was amazing as we soaked in the tub overlooking the river. Only thing I would ask is for a thinner blanket. Woke up few times from over heating from the heavy down in May weather. You won't regret booking a stay here. A must if you are in Japan.
