Gion Ryokan Q-beh Hostel

This Ryokan is located in a very quiet area, close to Yasaka Shrine. Receptionists were very nice and friendly, always ready to assist. A private pottery bath may be privately reserved on a daily basis. Although there is no option of food provision, this Ryokan is surrounded by numerous well rated restaurants. We really enjoyed our experience, would definitely recommend this location!

Very good localization around Gion. Classic Japanese style decoration, good beds. Bike rental a bit too pricy.

Stayed here a few years ago, excellent place, very local, convenient and a great cultural experience. The walls were so thin that we could hear people in the room next door going at it.

The location is great, right next to some of the best tourist spots in Kyooto. The room is clean, mostly tide and prerty spacious. A great choice for lodging.

Of all the places I’ve paid to stay in Japan, this has been the most enjoyable. The facilities are very clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for the things I was interested in seeing. The employees are all very helpful and friendly. The area is really lovely and quiet. Stayed in the 8 bed female dorm.

Very much worth the price to stay in one of the traditional Ryokan rooms! We stayed here two nights, and it was well kept, with very good facilities and a common room. It's in a very central location, within walking distance to the main street, and a lot of nearby restaurants and temples/shrines.

This is my second time to Kyoto，I choose QBEH. Just realize that QBEH，Hana hostel and J hopper belong to same company. Highly recommended if you want to experience real Japanese domestic hospitality，modern technology and management style. Staff are friendly ，helpful in all ways.

Beautiful location, rooms are exactly as described and shown in the pictures, staff is incredibly friendly and nice and they speak English very well. The price is amazing as well, especially for what you're getting!

We arrived early before the check in time but there’s free luggage storage. The check in was smooth and informative. The hostel is very clean, both in the rooms and bathrooms. The warm toilet seat is very comforting in winter. Close enough to a major shrine and the main strip of the Gion area. Also a close walk to the bus stops to Kyoto and Gion Shiju stations. An added bonus is there’s a sucker fish to greet you.

Traditional ryokan at its best. Very beautiful and very quiet. The staff will do their best to serve you. Situated in the Gion neighborhood, which is really tourist oriented nowadays but offers decent restaurants and quiet walks around to explore Kyoto.

It's more a Japanese standard hostel than a Ryokan. Very clean and convenient location if you'd like to experience Gion at night.

Fantastic traditional style Ryokan in a lovely old time neighbourhood in close proximity to nearby temples and restaurants. Also close to a bus stop to take you to nearby Kyoto station. Staff were helpful and speak English.

This was my favorite hostel on a weeklong trip in Japan. A really cool old tatami building and the cubby-style bunk beds make it feel a lot more like a private room than regular hostels. Also includes an awesome free private bath that you can reserve at front desk. A great bargain for staying in maybe the nicest part of Kyoto.

If you are looking for a traditional Japanese style accommodation with low budget this is the best option for you. Reasonable price, best location and very clean space. We were not sure if we have to book something closer to kyoto station or not, but it was the best decision we've made in this trip to stay here. You can walk to so many temples and traditionally preserved streets. P. S. Especially the staffs were all lovely :) & The cafe right next to the hostel is also absolutely recommended if you are looking for something authentic and quiet.

A fantastic Ryokan style hostel, they offer large capsules and private rooms. They have a bath though you need to book a time to use it and have a smoking area out front. There are 2 common rooms, one more for meals and watching tv, the other more to admire a garden and read/play board games. The staff are very helpful and speak very good english. They also offer a small selection of beer and a sparkling sake (delicious) for sale. All of this and still innthe historic setting of the Gion district of Kyoto near all of the shrines and temples.

Great location if you want to see the temples. Beds are comfy as they need to be for an overnight stay, and the facilities are perfect for a short trip.

Lovely staff, big, spacious lounge areas, and I enjoyed the pottery bath as well.

Traditional Japanese ambience with cozy bed. Friendly staff too. Overall good place to stay but the place is very cold maybe the heaters need to be check.

Great location to explore Gion area! Rooms are very clean including common rooms. Staff are really friendly and helpful. I'll definitely stay there again when I go to Kyoto again.
