Kyoto is the modern ancient Japanese capital.

Nice views of Kyoto. It's not a particularly high tower compared to others in Japan, but since all of the other buildings in Kyoto are short, you can see plenty of the other attractions in the city. The tower contains some stores, free binoculars, and stickers pointing at famous attractions. The tower is also right next to Kyoto station.

Not bad. However, the tower is not as high as we would like. There is a viewing platform, restaurant, hotel, shops and restaurants.

It's a great observation deck! There are inscriptions that where is, free binoculars to see closer and touch screens with detailed information about the sights of the city!

We took the bullet train to Kyoto and this was right outside the station as soon as we walked out, very convenient to get to, and completely worth your time and money if you are interested in the city of Kyoto. It gives you a complete 360° view of the city, with free stand-alone binoculars, as well as free handheld ones too for looking at specific areas. There are also screens placed at regular intervals around the observatory deck which tells you exactly where key locations to view are. I recommend this if you like the views and are interested in learning more about the surrounding area, I would happily go back again, a lovely experience!

I had taken a banana Brownie style thing it was a killing! In addition the waiters were adorable (like all the Japanese we met in fact). In short, if you are hungry and you do not agree on the menu, go ahead! There's some for all tastes. Just order each one at a restaurant and then end up on any table in the basement. Practice!

The location is very nice and the place is very bad.

The Kyoto Tower is maintained by Kyoto Tower Co. Ltd. (Kyoto タワー Co. Ltd. ), which is affiliated with Keihan Electric Railway Group, and is 131 meters high, including as the "Kyoto Tower Building" (Kyoto タワービル) in Ta-kee. The Kyoto Tower is styled by the architect Yamada (Japanese: Yamada Shou), and the structure is partly run by the architectural classroom of the Faculty of Engineering of Kyoto University, which opened in 1964 (Showa 39) on December 28 and is about 1 years and 10 months during the construction period. Although the Kyoto itself is not near the sea, the Kyoto Tower uniquely uses the lighthouse shape as the theme of appearance. In the era when the Kyoto Tower was built, most of the tower buildings were steel bone truss structures (English: Truss) (for example, the Eiffel Tower in Paris), but the Kyoto Tower was uniquely enclosed in a closed design, with cylinders made of special steel plates between 12 and 22 mm thick, 100 meters high, The tower, weighing about 800 tons, has no mechanical structure at all and is one of the earliest external wall load-bearing structures in Japan (English: Monocoque) (permeability is constructed outside the force).

It has some very good binoculars with which you see the whole city perfectly. There are also some tactictiles panels that show you what you can see.

Very nice view. There are some shops underneath. You can get yourself a photo taken an a commemorative coin. The interactive tables that tell you what are you seeing were to look are greatly helpful.

From the top you have a great view and can see many sights.

This observation deck offers a handful of features to help tourists get a better sense of the city. There are educational touchscreen monitors that allow you to zoom in and learn about certain landmarks across the city. There are also binoculars, and a prayer shrine. While the view of city is definitely a wonderful sight, I wouldnt count this as an absolute must try when visiting Kyoto.

Located just in front of Kyoto Station, so easily accessible. Here you can buy souvenirs. The information centre here also very good and friendly. Here also have a prayer room for muslim, you may ask the staff at information centre to use the room.

Interesting Point of view to see the different temples, without being really impressive.

The view of the city from the Fushimi Inari or from the Kiyomizu-dera is much more beautiful (and the view above and cheaper see free for the Torii)

Beautiful view of the city of Kyoto at 360 degrees. It gives you the idea of how great it is, even if it doesn't have skyscrapers like Osaka and Tokyo.
You will recognize many of the places you visit (the various temples in particular) right in front of the station, you can also visit in 30 minutes.
It's worth a ride.

Nice view over all Kyoto. It is recommended to go up in the late evening hours to get a wonderful view of the whole city at night. It is worth its price allemals. Only there is too little seating up & there are often a lot of people there.

Beautiful view that you have on the city of Kyoko, perhaps it is the only ppsto from which you can see the huge extension of the city. Inside warm and suffused environment with some scattered light and sale of various items. The price is not cheap but worth it. It is located right outside the station and you can visit anvhe in half an hour, so it is a nice filler during the various trips and waiting moments in the station.

This modern tower in Kyoto is so worth visiting. After you’ve paid a small fee to enter the tower, go to the top floor and you’ll be able to use free binoculars to see miles around Kyoto. If you go out at night, they sometimes have light shows at the water fountain outside the tower and it’s really pretty. The only reason why I’m giving this four stars is because we got our hand lines read but the guy at the bottom of the tower did it so inaccurately, so it wasn’t worth the 300 Yen. But still, go to Kyoto tower at night and use the binoculars to see around — it’s beautiful from up there.

A breathtaking night view. Five-star service. A very complete shopping mall. A Tokyo experience not to be missed.
If you join the night tower I advise you the last km on foot in the small you are with a view on the tower very nice.

Gives a good view of the city. Though most of the windows are smudged from people's hands or scratched. Makes it a bit tough to take good pictures. Unfortunately Kyoto isn't a terribly interesting city to see from up high. I prefer to take pictures of the tower itself rather than from the tower.

Excellent recognition system of the city. Several screens throughout the viewpoint with an angle of 120 degrees that allows to locate any point of the city and give a review.

Impressive when leaving the station.

It’s an iconic piece of Kyoto history. The view once you get out of the station instantly imprints on your brain and you will remember it for the rest of your life (that was the case for me anyway). The basement and first few floors are chock full of souvenir shops with reasonable prices and some really good restaurants. It recently went through a renovation and now has an “onsen” on site. In the summer, views from the “Beer garden” are well worth the price! The only real downside is the price for access to the observation tower but. Pretty overpriced for what it is in my opinion. But worth it if that’s what you want. Well worth going to though regardless of any possible negatives.

Recommend going early morning, as you can see as far as Osaka castle when the air is clear. Great view of the of Kyoto city — gives you an idea of the size. Signs and information in English and the free observation desk fixed binoculars are pretty powerful.

The view is really impressive.

An excellent view at 360 ° of the city, there are dates where groups of students go as a walk so it is crowded and boisterous for the kids. With touch screens that show you the visits of the city and refer to the important points.

Top view, no matter what time.

I loved it. About 700 yen per person. Elevator very fast. The viewpoint is full of amazing binoculars, you will see any part of the city. Absolutely beautiful, especially during the sunset. I highly recommend viewing Kyoto this way. It's the only sight that rivals the view from Inari. However, beware of you are prone to motion sickness. This tower has a larger sway than Tokyo Tower in my opinion, so I came off feeling pretty green in the face.

One of the symbols of Kyoto. Personally there are no climb because I have not considered it essential, but also just look at it from the outside is a show and at night has its charm.

Such a nice tower and a good way to get a feel for the city from above. Some shops have discount tickets to make the price cheaper. I paid 650 yen for my adult ticket.

Beautiful per night, I recommend you take a tour of the cslles adjacent to the station good food at very good price. There is also a shopping mall type El Corte Ingles where you will find everything and will make you the DTO. Of VAT for tourists.

Facing the train station, look out over the city and from 30 kms to 100 meters of HT. Many shops, hotel. For the view.

An average display tower. Neither good nor bad…

This tower is very short, only 100 meters. It's also tiny and very crowded in the observation deck, which suffers from being badly designed. The lights inside are very bright which causes a lot of glare. Your view is also obstructed by supports on the outside of the glass. This is particularly bad if you want to take photos. The tower moves a lot and so long exposure photos are impossible. Finally, the building looks very very dated and like no effort went into the appearance. Reminded me of the inside of a concrete light house. Overall, I do not recommend this attraction.

Something expensive for what it is, but it's a new experience.

Excellent view of Kyoto, binoculars are free to use and one can see multiple interesting sights (which you should visit later on), buildings, and even catch a glimpse of those Japanese bullet trains. Unfortunately, however, most city skyline views are very similar. Location is good, easily accessible. Visit if not very budget constrained. At the time Adults approximately ¥700 and lower for children.

It's not a tall tower. And the view of Kyoto at night is not great, as it is an older city. The tower is more beautiful to see externally. But a visit can be done. The price is not high.

Top prospect of Kyoto. Recommendation for sunset.

A rainy day in Kyoto and this was perfect. A great view of the city and perfect to get your bearings before you set off to explore. The info-touchscreens at the top of the tower allow you to know what you're looking at, really nice way to get an overview of Kyoto. We also ate here — not at the top floor, but they have many different restaurants in a cafeteria-style kind of area on one of the lower floors. There's a bar at one of the higher floors that didn't look too expensive (and might be a good option to be up in the tower without paying for the observation deck, if you're not into that).

Personally we did not climb on because it did not seem an indispensable thing and not to be missed, even because of the price.
However it is free to observe its enlightened beauty in the evening.

Clean, had a non-smoking room and central to some good shopping.

For an old relic (50 years) ish building, it has its charms. And being japanese, they put kawainess in everything. Don't believe me? Look at the mascot and you will be wanting to buy a souvenir. Go during sunsets for best exp.

At the Kansai Tourist Information Centre you can buy tickets first before you head up for 600¥ for adults instead of 770¥. A quick opportunity to view the surrounding areas. Great if you are into viewing buildings from a distance.

Very nice view of Kyoto and its surroundings. On top there are free binoculars, a shame that you can't drink something on the top.

Beware of the smoke. The smoked seeped into our room from nearby rooms which made our "Non-smoking" room a not pleasant experience. We had a room with 4 twin beds which felt like a dorm room but had ample room for all of us. Very close to Kyoto station with many stores and restaurants nearby. There is a limited number of outlets to use so bring a multi charging adapter. Staff were helpful but English is very limited especially the late shift. Rooms were outdated but being close to the train station made it worth the price and to withstand the barrage of cigarette smoke.

The hotel is acceptable with small clean rooms and the base amenities you would expect from a business hotel. The rooms are getting to be a little dated and the hallways can smell of a little smoke, which is typical for buildings that have designated public smoking rooms, but the non-smoking rooms are fine. The location is usefully located near Kyoto station, although if you're a tourist you could also locate farther northeast in the more touristy areas. Also, the onsite public baths are a nice plus, if you know what you're doing.

It's rather rundown. Level 5F: Observation Deck Level B3F: Public Bath house YUU, 7:00-22:00 (last entry 21:30) Level 3F: Kansai Tourist Information Center Level 2F: Daiso Level 4F: Geisha/Maiko dress up the last time I went. I'm not sure if it's still there as it all looked rather quiet. Ground floor level: Souvenir shops.

Bar was awesome inside. View of kyoto train station was nice. Not as high or impressive as rialto tower in Melbourne.

Night Kyoto Tower is better, a way to appreciate Kyoto night view. One side tasting food. If the subway can directly from the ground, yodobashi next to direct the Elevator to the top floor. Kyoto Station, needless to say, traffic around. Around various electronics city. Starbucks still has a drug makeup shop.

The tower is not very high compared to Tokyo tower, but the view over Kyoto is fantastic. Worth a visit!

We made a quick stop at Kyoto Tower while transiting at Kyoto Station. Admission fee was ¥500 per adult. There are binoculars provided for viewing from the top of the tower. We spent only half an hour in the tower as there was nothing much else to do.

The view to kiyomizu-dera is simply amazing. Free binoculars are an absolute plus. It would be even better if you could get a drink up there.

Fantastic location and very cordial staff. The rooms are decent but we couldn't cool the room with the air conditioner, so we opened the sliding window to the outside. Our neighbors were smoking on the balcony, even though they were in a non smoking room making for an uncomfortable evening. Overall the experience was fine, but totally not worth the price. It might be better to stay a little further away from Kyoto station and be more comfortable.

Super fast Service for tourists. Beautiful Views.

Super close to the station, dated but well maintained and very clean there is a slight 60s timewarp about staying here. Vending machines on the floors are useful and the rooms all seem to have views out towards the station. There's also easy access to the tower from the 8th floor. Happened to see two geishas waiting in the lobby one evening!

Super conveniently located, right across from the train station. Gives free discount coupons for Kyoto Tower, adjacent shops and restaurants. Friendly staff. However, hotel room is nothing to write home about, and the view was concrete. The hotel's corridors are accessible to everyone, which can be annoying depending on where your room is. BBC is available (undubbed) in rooms. Cable internet was somewhat mediocre quality (but sufficient).

If you're a tourist in the city this place is worth a visit. Cheesy, funny and you can enjoy the panorama of the city.

Restaurant 15:00 only, one in the morning can be in the top two floors around, the scenery good, with little friends must not miss.

The staff was friendly and they helped us get a room even though the hour was late. Considering the price I think that breakfast should be included. Another bad thing was that BBC or any other English speaking news channel were missing from the TV channels. The internet connection worked fine (wired) and the beds were quite comfortable. The check out time was at a generous eleven.

I have a single room. Very cheat hotel and the room is simply great. I pay only 5000 JPY. Itsjanuary and not main season, so I guess its a little more when u came in another time. Itsa little noisy, but I dont care. Its normal for a Hotel in the city. You see the hotel directly from the main entry of Kyoto Station. One minute by walking. You get a free ticket for the tower sightseeing when you checkin, what is rally awesome. You can see all of Kyoto and even Osaka when the weather is good. Friendly personal. Spak not much english, as usual. Tower Restaurant is very expensive and the food is in extravagant western style. Means; not much food, but good quality. It's a little funny how the japanese ppl whants to copy the western style. Its sympatic and u can see the japanese differents between western and japanese restaurant. Btw. This restaurant has an ambiente that is just WOOOW! You can see the city outside while you are eating. The ambiente is dark in candlelight and a blue light. You can hear smooth soul music in the background. Even if its expensive, its a good experience! I will come again there when I am in fantastic Kyoto. Thx for hosting me Tower Hotel.
