The Hotel Palazzo Piccolomini is an ideal destination for those who want to spend a few days of vacation in total relaxation in a refined and elegant environment.
The staff is caring and professional, the rooms comfortable and quiet.
Breakfast is rich and varied.
Spending a few days here was like feeling at home.
I hope to return soon to Orvieto to stay here again and be pampered by everyone.

We came to Hotel Palazzo Piccolomini after we read very good recommendations and very high rate in Booking.
but we had a bad experience in this hotel.
blockage in the shower so one of us couldn't take a shower. A lot of human hair (not ours) in the bathroom. The walls are dirty. The acoustics between the toilet and the room is bad and you hear every sound very loudly.
why I have to pay 100euro for the an experience that I will get in a bad 2 stars hotel?! I work in tourism. I work with and stay in many hotels in Europe and especially in Italy. This is NOT what I expect from a 4 stars hotel. I can say many good words about the desk workers, but this is not the reason that I will go to a hotel.

Stayed there at the beginning of our 2 weeks in Italy and it was a fantastic way to kick off our journey. Great location, amazing breakfast and a wonderful group of people. I recommend without hesitation and hope to return soon.

What a unique find! Karen Brown recommended this fabulous place in her travel book. She was so right on. We are now enjoying a Campari and soda in the cozy lounge before going to dinner. It is full of old world charm mixed with elegance. The location is ideal for seeing the beautiful Orvieto. The streets are cobblestone and add a pleasant sound to the travel. We heartily recommend this place and we will return, for sure.

Good four stars. Beautiful old building (can't remember the era. Pardon me). It was a very nice place to be in the hotel. I don't know if that's enough to say good because I'm not a picky guy.

They took our vehicle to their parking lot, but up to that point we were told that it had a cost of $12. €0 a day.
The hotel is nice and clean but it already requires a remodel.
Our bathroom had a strong smell of caño, we reported it, they offered us another room, but we preferred to fix it. The smell was reduced, but what it really requires is remodeling.
It has a nice bar, with very good care, though limited assortment of drinks.
The surprising thing was the breakfast, very good and generous, in the basement of the hotel.

No signs and difficult place to find.

Very nice hotel. Good air-conditioning. It was very hot in Orvieto. Good night sleep was important. Breakfast also nice and fresh.

We ended up in Orvieto unplanned and on a whim. Found the hotel online and drove up to check it out. Decided to stay there within a minute of speaking to Jude, who attended to us. The hotel was lovely but what swung the whole experience was the exemplary service all thanks to Jude and team. He recommended the nicest restaurant for dinner which is within 20 metres of the hotel. It is centrally located so you can walk to anywhere and back. Best breakfast — with eggs which are difficult to get in Italy. And best of all it was managed by Jude's wife. The hotel has a paid parking service about 2 minutes walk from the hotel. Overall a great place to stay. And thank you Jude.

The only place to stay in Orvieto. The rooms are super nice and the staff is very accommodating and friendly. The breakfast here is delicious and there are lots of choices. The breakfast room has a cut out in the floor where you can actually see down to an old Etruscan tomb. Right around the corner is a walkway to the most amazing view of the Tuscan countryside. You will not be disappointed if you book here. All the major things to see in Orvieto are a short walk away. Splendid!

Excellent staff, homey and comfortable rooms, unusually tiny showers not for those with a fear of tight spaces. Nice, simple breakfast in the mornings and great location. Note there are not multiple room keys available for those sharing a room.

In the center of the Rocca di Orvieto, historical building but made livable by the renovation. Exquisite staff.

Take me back! Not only is this just the most fabulous hotel with lovely gracious hosts and staff the town itself is romantically Italian and just so worth a visit. I can't wait to go back one day.

Lovely hotel in the heart of the city… beautifully decorated and staff… particularly JUDE could not have been kinder or more helpful.

Luxurious suite in the tower is only! In a straight-laced holiday, we took this whim and were absolutely delighted! Prices other than structures of equal quality in large cities, worth the money.
