I don't know how this hotel is rated at 3 star? From my experience I give it a half a star. The shower is made for children. The air con doesn't work. The rooms are shabby. I've been to two star hotels that are 10 times better. Cantoria hotel has friendly staff that's the only good thing I can say. But the rest of the hotel is not worth staying at.

Nice, clean and central. Breakfast from 07:30 but they wouldn't let us in for a croissant and juice at 07:20 even though I had paid for breakfast; not impressed!

Update to the response by Cantoria Hotel 4/9/18* The fact that Cantoria is basing their response around the price I paid proves the poor quality of their so called "hotel". The manager should come to our room so that I can show him/her that the Wifi doesn't work and that the shower head is so low it's below my husband's shoulders (I'm not talking about the size i. E. 80cm), they should also come watch my husband trying to shower so that they can understand how inadequate their facilities are. Unfortuntately people of their sort are only good at hiding behind the reception! * Original comment: I wish I could provide a higher rating because the staff are friendly but the accomodation is beyond shocking and is most definitely not 3 stars as Hotel Cantoria claims on their website. Our room was on level 3, which from the reviews posted, seemed to be where most patrons had bad experiences. The hair dryer and remote control for the TV are broken, the shower is made for children and my husband can't fit in the shower (he is slim and tall) so we're not even sure what to do for remaining 5 nights that we are here… we will have to look for a public pool where he can shower. The Wifi doesn't work in our room despite the fact that Hotel Cantoria says that free Wifi is offered throughout the hotel. If they can't provide Wifi for all the rooms then that needs to be made clear.

I give you two stars by the staff who are very friendly.
In my opinion it is not a three star hotel. They are two floors of an old building, the reception and some rooms located on the fifth floor are renovated but the rooms on the third floor (where our room was) are old, noisy, no safe. (more like a pension than a hotel)

Central position. Walking you can visit the whole old town and from the central station are 10 minutes walk. The property has a somewhat hidden entrance, it is an apartment building where there are also other hotels. The rooms are divided into two floors. The third and fifth. We stayed at the fifth where the Deluxe rooms are located and where there is the reception and breakfast room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Clean structure, equipped with air conditioning, fridge bar and Wi-Fi but sometimes struggled to navigate. Breakfast plentiful and varied served buffet. The quiet and functional room overlooked an inner courtyard so no noise from buses, pubs and nocturnal squeals. Interior style design that makes everything bright and wide. Only flaw but easily solvable the mattress, for a couple of nights however you can adapt, with a more comfortable rest would have been the top. Beautiful view from the terrace that I do not think other facilities offer.

Person very welcoming damage to the room J had a lift that give on one of the wall of the room so impossible to sleep at night fortunately I still have balls for the ears.

The hotel is located just 5-10 minutes walking away from the Duomo and another 10 minutes to the train station. Very convenient for check-in and check-out if. Many restaurants in the surroundings and also supermarkets to buy food. The room is fully modern furnished, comfortable and very clean, although, the wall that faces the reception is rather thin. It is possible to hear everything behind the wall.

Spent two nights at Room 6 on the 3rd floor. Luckily we had two small suitcases and a backpack laptop holder. With a big suitcase we would have had problems where to put it. The room is actually small, while the bathroom is spacious and functional even if the sliding of the shower, the rope of the Taparella show signs of considerable wear. Positive judgement for the bed with mattress that allows a proper rest. Quiet environments. Good breakfast and staff.

Warm welcome, the staff is very friendly and applies to speak French, which is very appreciated.

It didn't cover my expectations, a nice reception, a few workers attentive, but rooms very justitas and dilapidated.

Staff very helpful and welcoming. Only flaw in the night hours sometimes you hear the noises of the rooms below. The breakfast is plentiful and rich.

I would never recommend it, the stars will spare you with one is more than enough, room with old furniture, the worst is their situation which although central is on a street with a lot of traffic and night locals with a lot of noise, impossible to sleep before 3am. In addition to having little Isonorizadas the windows. The hotel is very cosy and the breakfast very rich and the people in reception friendly.

Decent hotel. Great location. Less than 30 minute walk to most attractions in the city. Short walk to the central train station and central market. The hotel itself is pretty good. We had 2 separate groups in 2 rooms. Make sure to book the "deluxe" rooms on the 5th floor. The "standard" rooms on lower floor are pretty dumpy. We got one of each by mistake. I was in the deluxe room and it was nice. Everything was clean and fairly updated. Breakfast was included which was nice, although basic selection. Overall for the price I would recommend the deluxe room. Would not recommend standard.

Decent rooms. Friends booked the standard rooms and the were subpar. If you stay here book the Deluxe Queen at least.

Reception and breakfast area were in good shape, the breakfast was good but nothing out of the ordinary. Our room was on the third floor and was run down to say the least : very visible marks on the walls and desk, old shower, … The rooms are small but acceptable. The rooftop was appreciated but not maintained either. Location was great and the staff very welcoming and helpful.

Very nice on the top floor of a residential building. Wonderful view over Florence and nice and attentive staff.

Clean, good breakfast, quiet and friendly. Close to everything in the center and very helpful staff. All you need for a nice stay in Florence.

The façade really does not pay for mine (one wonders if one is right in the right place) but the inside (you have to take the small elevator to access the hotel) is clean and chic. The reception is nice, the receptionist helped me to find a solution for the parking — Florence does not allow to park in its historic center. The room is small but comfortable and functional. Basic continental breakfast but very good.

Very well furnished, quiet, and clean. Superb breakfast and good location.

12/06/17 A very unassuming place literally a hole in the wall but once inside white and clean and very friendly reception and staff. Close to everything important you need to see in Florence I will definitely recommend this hotel and definitely be staying here again.

Let's be honest. For the price I paid, the welcoming, the location and the service in general this hotel is really worth a four star. The only reason I have it rated with a three star is due to the room conditions which requires some maintenance. Things like the door handle, or the paper roll holder, or the chair that clearly shown signs of wear. In any case, I really recommend you to stay here for a short staying in Florence.

The hotel is definitely located in the centre, 5 minutes from the station and the Duomo, so it is easily accessible on foot. The room from the outside looks very old but inside it all changes, it is very cozy, clean and elegant. The staff very kind offered us a lot of advice on what to visit in Florence in 3 nights and where to eat at the best. The rooms are just as nice, clean, besides the fact that the cleaning takes place every day and it seems really great. Good breakfast too.

Convenient location close to the station, but the hotel is in a condo!
It is arranged in two floors, the fifth all renovated really luxurious but the third where they were the single, I found them antiquated.
total lack of shelves in the bathroom and into the shower, not even a stool. Missing shutters on the Windows, good thing there were blackout curtains. Nothing to complain instead about the cleanliness of the rooms and breakfast. Not recommended for value. 92 euros a night seems excessive. If you solo ask for room at 5 floor.

The hotel has two floors, the 3° and 5°. The rooms on the 5th floor are refurbished and comfortable, but those on the 3rd floor are old and uncomfortable and may not reflect a hotel of 3 stars as stated and especially do not comply with the photos on the internet. The bathroom did not even a shelf to put objects, the room walls are paper thin and seems to stay with neighbors. Paid more than 90, 00 Euro per night, but the value was up to 60, 00. Not recommended if you are staying at the 3rd floor which is complete renovation.

This hotel is in a building, which occupies the 3 and the 5.
On the fifth floor is the reception and the part of the room. That plant is completely renovated, with lots of lighting and painted a pristine white. When we did check in told us that our room was on the third floor and gave us some keys with a plastic Keychain with commissioning pen room number.
Once in the room I discovered that it was very small and dark, very 1980s. Had a small balcony that gave to a patio of lights, very dirty, with two compressors of air conditioning to occupy it by full.
The bath according to the room, with a tiny sink. Television, the size of an iPad, did not work and only available plugs were, one each in the bathroom and under the bed, inaccessible.
Cleaning shone by their absence, and I say this more than anything because I had to crawl under the bed to load the camera.
Sincerely, we stayed because we were doing a tour of Italy and did stop day and a half, and we didn't want to lose him looking for another hotel.
The fifth floor have no doubt have 3 stars, but the third does not reach the hostel category, in fact here in Spain that is category of pension. In a previous comment address claimed that the category the Government of the city of Florence had granted it.
As already say I that wasn't by that plant.

This is not a hotel and more bread and breakfast kind of place. The hotel is in a shared building with other hotels or commercial space. But that's not a problem. Pros-Closeness to station Firenze SMN. Easy access to all tourist attractions. Good for short stays. Friendly and helpful staff. Cons-not for family with children. Breakfast is basic. Lift is ridiculously small. Very basic rooms but spacious. Overall — recommend for bag Packers, short stays.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night, I wish we could have stayed here two nights. The hotel is simple, just as the pictures show. Everything was very clean. Front desk wasn't too friendly but not rude either. We loved the location, far enough from the real tourist areas but close enough to walk everywhere. The bar across the street was delicious and fun (try their honey ale! ). Breakfast was simple but good, brought to your door (you choose the time). We were renting a car and found parking a few doors over (underground) for about $20. Over all, I think this hotel is a great value for your money.
