Koala Hostel Hostel

This place is NOT air conditioned, even though all the online listings say it is. I showed up there on a very hot night in July, was lead to a non-air conditioned room. Needless to say, I couldn't sleep all night and checked out the next day. They would only give me the money back for one of the four nights I had booked despite the fact that this was false advertising and I wouldn't have booked if I had known there was no AC. Even then, it was worth it to forfeit the money in search of a decent night's sleep. Furthermore, there was not even hand soap in the bathrooms, and the ladies working the desk at night made me feel very uncomfortable when I came to the "bar" for a night cap. I'd skip it.

Staff wasn't nice. They overbook my bunk, so I slept at portable noisy bunk just over the door. Toilets and showers wasn't clean. Breakfast was fine. Worst hostel in my experience.

It's impossible to sleep here so I'm awake at 5am writing this review. There's too many things to list, so here are dot points — All facilities are run down and not maintained, the bathrooms in the room are disgustingly old and gross and the beds are so uncomfortable I couldn't sleep — Rudest staff I've ever met they don't care about their customers at all — I was sitting in the courtyard with 3 other people, we were on our phones and not talking at all absolutely silent, and the guy at front desk came out and told us to go inside because the neighbours will complain. He then stood in front of me staring at me until I got up as I gathered my things. — The Wi-Fi is so bad no one was able to use it, I ended up not even bothering with it — Not clean, the whole place is filthy and I found chunks of long hair in my bed — It was very hot but when asking the staff at the front they said they don't have the aircon remote, they have to get someone external in to turn it on… What a joke why would they not have the remote? I went back to check 10minutes later and the guy at the front was just sitting on his phone not trying to chase up the aircon, everyone in my room was dying from the heat. I asked for an update and he told me to go away — The rooms have huge windows but no blinds, why? Even at night the street lights are so bright they keep you awake — 'Breakfast' is advertised, but it's just cornflakes, I don't feel like that should be advertised.

A very clean and cosy hostel in a central location! Difficult to find at first but staff here are good and are very knowledgeable of Milan. Bathrooms are separate to rooms with small shower cubicles but cleanliness and quality is fine. Toilets are also seperate, in a completely different location to showers, but also very clean. Towels a charged at €2 each. Beds are also of good quality with power sockets available at every bed, although some are in awkward locations whether wedged between the wall and your mattress or closer to the neighbouring top-bunk than yours. Locker space is limited, enough to fit a large backpack or carry-on luggage but not big enough to fit a backpackers backpack or a suitcase. Bring your own lock too, they charge €3 for that aswell if you need one, or go to a convenience store. The social area is also quite cosy, alcohol is provided at fair prices and there is small tables and chairs to use your computer ect:. Beanbags, Foosball and a TV is also set up around the corner! The Wi-Fi however is a big let down. From my experiences at least, connection cuts out frequently or is otherwise quite slow — this is coming from someone using a Google Pixel 2 XL. Overall I would recommend it, very fun and central so makes your travels that little bit better!

My stay at this hostel was great, it had everything I needed the staff was very friendly, the rooms are very clean, it has hot water and they provide breakfast every morning it might not be the best breakfast but you only getting what you paid for. Enjoy your stay at Milani.

Place in an excellent position, connected by means. Good cleaning, I saw pass some insect in the bathroom. Breakfast a bit of a deficit but there is the possibility of using a fridge and stove. Another unclear thing was the signs that were not visible.

Clean, friendly staff and all in all a well maintained hostel. It was a very pleasant stay in Milan. 2 to 3 minutes walk to the Metro.

Crooked hostel. It was a busy weekend (Easter) so they didn't allow me to check in. I asked their front desk if they could refund my down payment and he responded that they hadn't charged me yet. Several days later I saw the full price on my credit card bill. Avoid at all costs.

Reception were not nice and unhelpful, the cards to get in never worked and a lot of noise during the night.

Cute hostel, had everything we needed really. The main reason for the 5 stars is because of the staff. Very friendly people who were willing to give advice and show us cool spots to hang out :) Location is also great since it's 5 minutes from the metro and the nearest supermarket.

Decent facilities, okay proximity to places, staff was generally nice but weren't really very helpful. Staff kinda just barges into rooms in the morning to clean pretty early. Okay experience and decent value for money.

Is pretty close to the Milano Centrale. They have good facilities and a really good staffs. Worth it.

The most horrible hostel I ever, ever stayed in. The guys on the service desk don't care about the guests doing their own business. To get inside you need to call them and ask to open the gate. If you don't have italian number, that is your problem. In the room for almost 20 people only two electrical plugs. Highly recommend to stay any other place!

Hostel clean, comfortable, everything works, all very friendly And I felt at home. He would come back.

The staff were generally very friendly and would let my friends and I pick movies during the night, sometimes other people in the hostel would come in and be talking louder than the movie; but that would simply be because we weren’t watching the movie very early. The breakfast was not huge but it was enough; hostels aren’t much for their breakfast from what I’ve seen so I didn’t expect much from that. The rooms were very comfortable with bathrooms in each and very good showers. They also had a full room with Showers; in case one of your roommates was already in the shower when you wanted to shower.

The sheets smell bad and the bathrooms are not the cleanest.

That's a nice place. People on the Reception are friendly, some of them also speak spanish.

Its ok for spending a night or more. Its in the middle of the town and u can reach all the attractive seeings by walk.

Nice hostel not far from the central station of Milan, it is 2 metro stops from the station. You can also reach the Duomo by metro in 10 minutes. The metro stop Loreto is in 5 minutes from hostel. The dorm isn't big, but has its own bathroom, which is a big plus. Also there are common bathrooms. They offer breakfast — cornflakes, bread, tea, coffee.

Good reception, clean and nice rooms. 50 degrees in the rooms at night, and unfortunately they had no water to sell in the reception/bar. Besides from that an overall good experience.

Pros: Located at only two Metro stops from the Central Train Station. Clean bedroom and overall facilities. Inhouse bar with reasonable priced beer. Cons: In summer time it is very hot inside. Poor ventilation. Most members of the staff did their job without flaws, unfortunately there was this one guy, working at the reception who was very rude (xenophobic comments included). I had to call the police in order to prevent an imminent physical confrontation. A complete shame. The person at the counter 'mixed up' my prepaid reservation and I ended up being downgraded without further explanation. In one of the three nights I spend here I had the bad luck of staying in "dorm D" with a noisy ceiling fan, noisy bed, and noisy neighbors.

Cool and relaxing place! Reception guys are very nice, and Bar has cheap prices. Central position is a plus: in few minutes you caan go to the most famous and beautiful places of Milan.

I think this is the best hostel I've ever been to!

Easy to find but slightly it off the way. Very clean with decent bathrooms and showers. Breakfast was free so didn't expect much, just a couple cereals or bread. Friendly and helpful staff.

Interesting experience for a spoiled german girl.

Expensive, nothing has been thought to make your life easier.

It seems to Me an excellent Hostel, the best thing is its location to 30 walk to the center or 1min of the green and red lines of the metro. It is clean and the staf very nice.

There are a ton of awesome people from all over the world that I met here! There is a chill common area to hang out, a kitchen to cook your own food and a dining room to have lunch and dinner. Wi-fi internet and breakfast are included and the reception is opened 24/7. The hostel is close to the city center and laundromats, restaurants, beautiful parks and bars and clubs.
