Great complex, pleasant and distinguished staff, great for total relaxation stays with a lovely terrace that looks at the Grand Canal special for pleasant breakfasts.

Firstly the location, it’s not far from the Rialto. The view from the balcony is breathtaking. The Hotel is fabulous and the staff so friendly. I would definitely recommend it and would stay there again!

Great Hotel in the heart of Venice with unobstructes view and access to the Canale Grande. If you want a real treat book room 10!

A very bizarre experience. The set from a 1970 adult film. Strange but large rooms. Odd collection of furniture. Reasonable price but would try somewhere else next time.

First visit to Venice and wow this hotel, the staff, the decor made us all feel like film stars!

What a gem! The staff of wonderful, the interiors are exquisite, the location tucked away. Perfect choice for a weekend in Venice.

Great place if you want to have a romantic getaway. Small place, very few rooms, makes you feel like the staff and hotel caters to just you.

A very well kept Venetian secret. Tastefully decorated historic (yes, 1568) building on the Grand Canal, run by the owners as an extremely comfortable hotel.

The hotel is hard to find the first time, but then it is such a pleasure to be hidden away. Lovely staff and owner. Comfy beds and soft towels. The picture is the view from the balcony off the main salon, where you can sit and watch the world go by. I hope to go again.

We researched almost every hotel on the Grand Canal. Chose Barbarigo… and thank God we did. What an amazing and beautiful place. Incredible breakfast, stunning rooms and perfect location. 5 minute walk to Rialto Bridge.

Perfect in every way! We had a 3 night stay here, the service from the moment we arrived by boat to the day we left was A*. The staff are friendly and very informative, always bending over backwards for your every need. The hotel is in a great location with a balcony looking over the grand canal which is great, the interior is done to a very high standard and even has some of the 15th century still on view. There was a morning and evening service on your room and even closed the curtains for you! An amazing place recommended to all couples looking for a romantic escape, we will be back.

The front desk staff was great! Great recommendations of what to see. Breakfast was delicious. Rooms were a bit dark, but very nice. Once you navigate how to get there, it's a good location.

Love the decor. The staff was extremely helpful. It was a little tricky to find when we didn't arrive via water taxi, but definitely worth the stay.

Wonderful stay for our minimoon and the director — Daniele — was a fantastic host, proving many of the keys to the city.

It's OK. Reasonably priced, right on the water, and staff were always helpful. The bar is well run and great looking, the room decor somewhat odd including a GIANT minibar that occupied way too much space. It was also quite dark inside. Really: needs a bit of a makeover but otherwise OK.

Excrement on bed sheet. I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights from the 11th April-13th April 2014. I had booked the hotel as a treat for my wife's 30th birthday. On checking in we were very impressed with the hotel and staff. We got to the room, unpacked our bags and went out for dinner. On returning to the room we noticed that the beds had been turned down and on initial impression the room looked fantastic. We put the TV on and laid down to watch a movie. On laying down we noticed a stain on the sheet next to our heads and in between the two pillows. On closer examination we were disgusted to find that the brown stain was in fact excrement that had been smeared into the sheet. To make matters worse, its wasn't an old stain, it was fresh on the surface. We were appalled and disgusted on realising what was on our clean sheets. I immediately went out to see the night manager to explain the situation. He at first did not believe me and it wasn't until his colleague smelt the bed that they believed us. I demanded that something was done about the situation as it was very late and all we wanted to do was go to bed and sleep. After a lot of persuasion he finally suggested that he could put us in another room but he was very adamant that we could only use the other room for one night and would have to return to our original room first thing the next day.
