Reviews of Isaacs Hostel
It was the cleanest Hostel I have ever been. Excellent.
Great atmosphere and handy location for our last stay in Dublin. Staff were really friendly. Nice and clean.
There were bed bugs in our room. After bringing this to the staffs attention, we were told that the linens and (! ) mattress will be changed. When we came back, we saw the linens were changed but not the mattress. After confronting your staff, we were told that it was inspected, but nothing was found. Yet we saw the bed bugs ourselves and my friend was covered in bites. I had asked for a call from the manager who was apparently on vacation at that point, but never received any communication.
Its a shame how highly this place is rated on Hostel World. Our 1 night at this Hostel turned into a nightmare of our lifetime. We checked in at 12 AM the night before and within 7 hours we had a man opening our dorm with a Key Card and clearing everything on the table (Wallets apple watch etc) + 2 of our bags with PASSPORTS & CASH. How I chased down the man is a story of its won. But the absolute inconsideration on the Hostel's part is APPALLING. They didn't have the courtesy to bring water after I chased down a WANTED CRIMINAL alone in their premises only because of SHEER DUMB LUCK that I got up at 8am. Trying to get hold of this man, I tumbled down the staircase with major injuries while the hostel report say — NO INJURIES REPORTED. HOW IS THIS ACCEPTABLE OR EVEN TRUE? It was so shameful how the Hostel staff dealt with such a major adversity. Disgusted by their nonchalance & 'just want to make sure we are legally covered' attitude, all I wanted was to get out of their premises and reach out to EVERY PLATFORM I CAN FIND TO TAKE THESE GUYS DOWN FOR RUNNING A SHAM. THEY DID NOT OFFER A REFUND OR EVEN WATER! The receptionist at night (Manager on duty) LARRY was not only rude, he was IN ON THIS ROBBERY as per my informal chat with policeman Erik at the nearby police station. We both had NO DOUBT about it since time between our check in and roberry was less than 7 hours and we LOOKED affluent with our trench coats and were properly PROFILED by this receptionist.
PERFECT place for party PPL.
One of the better Hostels. Good location. Friendly staff. Lots of amenities. Unfortunately while we were there Wi-Fi was down or bad.
First time staying in a hostel and I was pretty anxious about the whole thing, however the staff made me feel comfertable and the place was friendly and fun. Definitely would come here again next time im in Dublin!
Great Atmosphere. Great staff. Never felt better.
I had a great time in your hostel. It's very close to everywhere, so it was easy not to get lost. Amazing people, excellent facilities. Regards from Chile, Pabla.
Very nice place to stay. Staff was very nice and friendly. The breakfast was nice despite not having a lots of choice. But for the price this place is a very good choice.
I have not stayed at may hostels before but this was as near to a perfect experience as you could get. I had only stayed for one night, but it was very pleasant. The staff were very nice and very well informed about the area and things to do. Shout out to the intake staff that worked (07/08/18) 5-5:30PM) you guys were awesome. They offer several activities that they facilitate themselves. I will recommend to anyone looking for a good hostel experience.
Location is good. Beds are comfortable, but I missed the extra sheet provided by other hostels and the quilts we're not my favorite (duvet covers were loose and seemed old). The showers and bathrooms were clean and convenient. Like other hostels, they were always being cleaned when we needed them in the morning, but we never had to wait for a shower in the evening. I'm not sure if this is due to the time of year (Feb) or just the fact that there are a lot of bathrooms. Breakfast is basic — toast, coffee, and juice. This was the same at another hostel in Dublin, but we were hoping for more. Staff was very helpful and friendly. They gave us great advice for where to go and where to eat, and made our stay pleasant. The "free" tour was great but like all the other "free" tours, it wasn't free as the guides are paid by tips at the end. Bring some cash if you go on any tour advertised as "free".
I stayed here for 3 nights with my teenager daughter in a twin bed room. The beds are very uncomfortable, the trains shock the room every 10 minutes 24 hours. Reception was very nice, breakfast is ok. The doors are very heavy and is very loud at night. Near to the city. I pay 200€ for three nights, is very expensive and too much for this standard.
I really liked the location of this Hostel in Dublin. It is only a block from the main bus depot and an easy find from the airport. There is a wonderful street with local shops and pubs very close. There is history and mix of old and modern all over Dublin. The only complaints I have is that the dorms did not have lockers and they close the kitchen in the afternoon for cleaning. Expect a party vibe!
This is my favorite hostel I've stayed in and I met another traveler the other day who said Isaacs was also her favorite. It is so clean, fun, and has great facilities. You get such a good value for the price you pay, highly recommend! On your first day, go on the free walking tour at 10:30, especially if you're traveling solo. You'll meet other travelers and then you'll all go out for pub crawl later that night together! I loved staying here so much I didn't want to leave!
Nice and clean, good facilities. Only downside was the fact my dorm room was incredibly hot, heating was on full blast in May, I woke up in the small hours after a dream that I was a Christmas turkey in the oven at 200c for 4 hours… Bed was fairly comfy but its hard to sleep when you're sticking to the sheets. Would stay again but would hope to not be cremated again!
The employees, activities, and common spaces of this hostel are its strong suites. It’s a really neat building. If you are on one side of the building, especially the third floor, you are directly next to the trains, which are cover-your-ears loud from maybe 6am-midnight. The rooms could also use a bit of love. The bunk beds are creaky, (WD40 guys), and the showers must be held down for water. I enjoyed my stay, just bring ear plugs. Trivia night was a great touch.
Great experience. Was my first time in Europe and first time staying in a hostel so was kind of apprehensive. Instantly got a free upgrade to a 4-bed room, got a locker for €2, and the room itself was quite inexpensive. Friendly and accommodating staff made me feel very comfortable and showed me a couple spots to go on my trip. Also, there's a hostel pub crawl every night at 8pm that's €12 the first time and then every night after its free if you keep the wristband. Did this on my first night in Dublin and would definitely recommend it.
Great hostel, also for groups or students. Shower are oke but no temperature control. Breakfast is absolutely terrible, literally just bread with jam or chocolate paste or cornflakes. Staff is really friendly. Location is also great, walking distance from most places.
Its accessible to places of interest and transportation. What I don't like here is the floors. They are so annoying and walls are not thick. You can here conversations from another room. Its pretty clean though. Thanks to the cleaners. They have breakfast but its very light Lockers is downstairs. This place is ideal for groups or backpackers. If your travelling with a big and heavy suitcase you will struggle bringing it up and down.
Location is great. 10 minute walk to main pubs and best restaurants, mainly around Temple bar area. Room is a double, with two twin beds. Very small and no bedside tables, very basic. Bathrooms clean and nice, though with only two sinks can be a bit crowded in the morning and evening. Great service. Very basic but okay breakfast, watery coffee though!
We spent four days in the hostel. Great days I'll always remember. The hostel has a fully equipped kitchen for guests ' use and free breakfasts. Also, you can stay in the hall using the free Wi-Fi and meet lots of new people. The hostel organises recreational activities that you can enjoy, always keeping the silence in hours of sleep.
Check in was friendly and efficient. Bathroom facilities were clean enough, though residents did cause aromatic and cleanliness issues now and again. The room was functional, though the beds were a tad creaky. The facility had plenty of well equipped common spaces, and plenty of options services were offered. Free breakfast was offered. The location was great, being centrally located and close to much of Dublin.
In 10 minutes, you are in the center of Dublin. Breackfast and Wi-Fi included.
Beds are maybe a little bit hard, but hey, for the price, it's decent.
I will definitely come back!
A cozy hostel. Less than 10 minutes from downtown, with a pretty decent outfit and breakfast and Wi-Fi included.
The beds are kind of hard, but for the price you can't expect more.
I'll definitely be back.
Very good very clean hostel sorry that the Wi-Fi does not reach the rooms. They have many activities which is very good and you have a very good coexistence with people there.
A hostel as we like it between the look, the amazing atmosphere, the facilities, the extra location, and the proximity of all kinds of transports. This is clearly the best hostel in which I have stayed tour trip confused. Of course, the value for money is top!
W-Lan Funktuniert barely, staff unfriendly, walls thin, floor and doors seer noisy, S-Bahn passes every 10 min. (Very noisy)
W-Lan Funktuniert not everywhere, 1 staff wanted to beat us almost and it runs every 10 min. An S-Bahn pass one can hardly sheep walls are thin you hear everything out, doors and the floor are very noisy.
It's fine for what it is. It's a good location, only a 10 minute walk from Temple Bar and the rooms were clean and the bathrooms were better than most hostels I've been to. The security is good and they definitely take it seriously. The staff are quick to help with directions and recommendations. I've definitely been to friendlier and more social hostels than this one though.
I recommend screwdrivers to bring pens themselves.
My room was found under barbaric conditions. On the walls, the color was off, the window hung half out of the frame and was screwed into the frame after a complaint the next day. This is very unfavorable in an 8 person room. In the room itself there was also extraordinarily little room for luggage and other. Wi-Fi was available throughout the hostel with little connection problems. The Feühstück was kept simple with toast, jam, Nutella, cornflakes, milk and orange juice I would recommend this hostel as a stopgap as there are far more hotels nearby with better price and qualitiveren rooms.
The best hostel that I've ever been! Clean, efficient, safe, attention, excellent, perfect location, spacious and pleasant environment. In addition, the sauna is a plus to any traveler will excellent after a tiring day. They have billiards, ping pong, couches, rooms to be very comfortable and area for readers. The best cost-benefit which you may receive.
Central, clean, good and abundant breakfast.
The guys at the reception are kind and helpful, free luggage storage in check-in and check-out, free Wi-Fi, sauna… I recommend it to everyone!
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is more than convenient. The kitchen would not have been advised, but it is at the discretion of everyone.
Very friendly and helpful staff. There is no network in the rooms. But if you come here only to sleep, it does not bother.
Great place to sleep in Dublin, in addition to being one of the hostels more affordable. The atmosphere is very good, almost every day there is some plan in the hostel and has plenty of common rooms to hang out, in addition to a sauna, games like pool and foosball table… in Addition another important point is that it has a storage room for the luggage. I recommend it with no doubt.
Hostal is super well located! very clean and nice! well priced, I recommend it… and i'll be back here.
I went vacaccion during the week of st. Patrick and everything was clean, but they were having problems with their machine cards. It is not a cheap place.
Very friendly and helpful service. Clean bathrooms and bedrooms. Such a good location for the price as well. Definitely really good value.
Youth hostel in 5min walk from O'connell Street! Friendly staff Even speaking a word of French! Numerous animation offered!
Fatal the deal, NOT to GO to SPANISH. We have tried fatal 3 girls for being Spanish.
Great hostel, a little run down but it seemed like they were working on renovations while I was there. Employees are amazing, polite and helpful. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean and warm. Major downside was that sometimes there would be no hot water.
Place for young people, but not made for families, the price beats all competition.
The place is clean and the breakfast is small but good (and free). There is only 1 toilet and 1 shower for 2 8 person rooms, which gets a little crowded. There was not an age limit on who stayed there, so we did not enjoy sharing our room with middle aged men. One man even grabbed my friend’s stomach while she was sleeping at 3am.
Location is good. Beds are comfortable, but I missed the extra sheet provided by other hostels and the quilts we're not my favorite (duvet covers we're loose and seemed old).
Very nice hostel. Clean rooms. Nice staff. From the hostel you can easily reach everything.
Definitely not the worst hostel I've stayed in. The location is good, (most) rooms are clean and the staff at the reception was really friendly. But unfortunately there were too many things we didn't like. First of all: as great as the "open bathroom" looks, it's not practical. Showers were ok but I didn't like that you can't choose your temperature on your own. Didn't like the brushing my teeth right next to the toilet as well. My sheets had some holes and the bed wasn't that comfy (for a short trip ok). But the most annoying thing was how loud it is. Lying in bed we could here every step or sound in the hallway. Don't really get all the recommendations, sorry :/ would come back if some of these points get some reconsideration.
Very good, clean, big hostel. I love the big common area on the ground floor as well as the basement where you can peacefully work, play ping pong and snooker. There is a sauna but I didn't use it. Watch out because there is not always a hot water. And lastly the most important — people (stuff) is amazing. They are always happy to help you and advise on pubs, tours, places to visit… and much much more. Pubcrawl? City tour? Tour to the cliffs? Lunch? Dinner? They always have a recommendation. So make sure to ask them about anything if you are not sure! Thank you Isaacs Hostel Dublin team, it was an amazing experience! You made my trip to Dublin even more unforgettable.
The deal has been great and the facilities are pretty good, the only downside that the beds are a bit harsh.
Nice hostel. Everything important for viewing or going out is within walking distance of 20min. The hostel is really clean and has nice staff. The beds are not the most comfortable but you can sleep well. Negatives, the shower drains were clogged or the rooms are very noisy.
Not recommended if you are travelling as a couple. The bathrooms were very dirty and the rooms by the photos seemed cleaner and newer.
Good location, good service, excellent shared spaces. Highly recommended.
Great place to stay. Rooms are clean and comfortable. They provide lockers too at a nominal charge. Complimentary breakfast and snacks are also provided. Preferably located right next to the coach station. They also organize pub crawls and have a good catalog of leaflet for visiting in and around Dublin. Very friendly staff and have some good discounts on various tourism related activities.
Unfortunately for what we paid I have to give this place 2 stars. Our first night was a Friday and when I say the noise kept me awake I'm understating it. The walls are paper thin, so we heard the couple downstairs have a screaming match at eachother at 3am (I mean, heard every word), we heard the party in one if the rooms going on in the floor above us and the opening a closing of doors the whole night. Staff should enforce their 'no noise between 11-7' rule but unfortunately failed to ask anyone to pipe down. The beds are not very comfortable, and the private room we paid£60 a night for is pretty bleak. It needs a good paint and someone to fix the light fixture which didn't work. Only saving graces for the place is the toilets/showers being clean and the breakfast of toast and cereal you get in the morning. Had this place cost£30 a night I'd of been on board but £60 — no chance!
Everything is great except breakfasts. If someone do not like milk have nothing left except toast butter and jam. However that might be general problem in any hostel I'm afraid. All amenities are fine and we'll organized. With little luck it is possible to meeat naked women in sauna what even finest hotels for 100+ euro per night cannot guarantee :)
The best hostel in which I could sleep! The team is great, very attentive and very family friendly.
The hostel is very clean, nothing to say the above! I past two weeks, and I will return with great pleasure!
Wifi, sauna, printer, computer, playroom and relaxation room… the Isaacs Hostel is much better than some hotels!
A well equipped hostel with a rather festive atmosphere so it's not the quietest. But it's still a good address.
Those who do not necessarily want to sleep and who can also live a weekend without it, and that it is possible that at 4 o'clock in the morning is cleaned by a lady who is obviously having fun in psychological warfare, or pubescent teenagers their relationship problems in The hostel's hallway is safe. For 75 euro the night in a Blechbett, in a room without toilet or shower, there is significantly worse… I just don't notice anything, but I'm sure it's so;). Good night…
Really great hostel with excellent atmosphere. Personal very willing and friendly. Was very pleasant here apartment and hope to return again. Thank you for everything :c)
Perhaps the cheapest hostel in Dublin. Friendly and helpful staff The room I was in I think had a very bad air recirculation (there was, but noisy, and at night we turned it off) and with 8 people in the room there was not a pleasant smell. Rooms without lockers. I would recommend it for one or a few nights.
Very centrally located, super Markets (SuperValu is recommended) and pubs are within a few minutes walking distance. Cozy lobby where there is always a lot going on. Only there is free Wi-Fi. The rooms are rather spartan, but they are cleaned on a regular basis. The house is ~ 200 years old, shared bathroom on each floor are refurbished. On the third floor in the morning only a little warm water arrived in the showers.
Unfortunately, a high-rail railway runs right by the house. Depending on the location of the room, you will be awakened from the early morning every few minutes by noisy (often braking) trains.
The breakfast consists of toast (+ Jam/Nutella), cereal, cornflakes, tea and coffee. In the communal kitchen you can tap water and coffee free of charge at any time, but the latter was always empty.
Very nice and clean. Convenient price book CIN booking which is cheaper. The sauna is great too.
It is a good place to stay economically, they put free breakfast. The only drawback is that there is only one service per plant (one of men and another of women). Very friendly staff.
Economic to be Dublin. Very friendly service. Better for young and adventurous.
The showers are terrible! There is only Wi-Fi in the common area and make sure you don't leave your items charging at night or your cables might get stolen in my case. The location and price are great, beds are fine.
Probably the best hostel in the Dublin city with vibrant environment and rockstar staff who are always welcoming and ready to help you out. Very old property but excellently maintened. Have 24 x7 reception, recreational areas, a small business lounge kind of space for business travelers, sauna bath and much more. Offers light but very good breakfast too. Almost all attractions are walkable from here. (If you like walking or else you can hire bike from the hostel).
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Interesting experience for older adults. Thanks a lot!
Good for young clientele.
Lots of noise in the halls and young people unveiled. Very good location.
Nice place with simple hostel furnishings — there's no storage lockers in the rooms, Jessy beds, but every room and floor is access controlled. Breakfast was juice, milk, or a hot drink and toast with jam and butter. Simple but sufficient. Common room had a great atmosphere, which we good for meeting others.
A great place, I met quite a few good people. The staff working there and great.
The location couldn't be beat. The staff was upbeat, personable and offered great tips for sights and transportation around Dublin. The breakfast was a plus, and the coffee wasn't half bad. I'd stay again and recommend to anyone wanting a no frills economically priced place to stay.
Great as far as hostels go. However you may have some bad room mates. First night was great. Second night a couple guys smelled like they hadn't showered in weeks. Guys at desk offered to move us if needed but we just touched it out. Maybe if they had soap in showers and towels, people would be more likely to bathe.
Isaacs hostel is a lovely, friendly hostel situated in central Dublin with very clean and well looked after facilities. The rooms are large and the beds are nice and comfy however the rooms have been a bit too warm at night. The kitchen facilities are excellent and there's a great underground relaxing area.
Strategic as a location to visit the city.
Very nice and helpful staff, clean place and close to city center, will stay again whenever I travel back to Ireland.
Good hostel. Price-Value is okay and the staff is very friendly and helpful. There's a bike rent, free 3h Tour through Dublin, and a Pub Crawl every night. Doors are secured by access cards, granting access only to the floor and rooms you're allowed to. There's a sauna (free, didn't use), pool table and pong table. Overall my stay was great. The breakfast is just toast, jam and butter, or cereals so don't expect too much.
Mostly of days is, however at the "the" I checked in the hostel, there is some problems about the deposit of locker. I wasn ' t ' understanding so I asked the lady of the WHO worked in the front desk to say it again with "please" Then she gave me a bi G roll eyes.
And today there is a stranger guy putting he hand in and I back bag! He didn't ' t steal anything from me but I still told to the staff about this. Because it can be happened to anyone. Then They just tell me they "re keeping eyes on him by CCTV and he" s not souls, he ' s safe. But He DID the HAND in my BAG! "It ' s fine"
Long story short, the Chinese version
Basically this Green brigade I personally like, but still some uncomfortable things.
First, in my first day of check-in, because they can not immediately enter the room, they have a special place to put luggage, but also derived from the rent, the issue of the deposit. At the counter a girl with short hair glasses, the explanation is very fast, I do not keep up with the present, so I asked her to say once. She directly rewarded me with a big supercilious stare and spoke again at the same speed.
Second, I was in their reading room today with a pen, suddenly feel someone behind me, looking back at a strange boy put his hand into my back bag.
Terrible coffee in the morning, the beds were made of metal, they lay on foam mats, and the curtain was broken. 10 meters from our room, every 10 minutes a train came and stopped from sleeping. When you walked down the street, you saw people leaving your urine in the corner, 2 meters further, you found several heroin syringes. Also, you had to cook in the evening and there was only breakfast. I really can't recommend the hostel. Only the staff was friendly, the rest is almost to be declared as a rubbish dump!
Really solid hostel. The atmosphere is nice, rooms are clean. Didn't like that you had to keep pushing the taps for hot water every 3 seconds, even for showers. If you're traveling alone and get nervous, the location can seem quite sketchy as it is right underneath a bridge that a train uses and it gets dark. The train itself isn't that much of a bother when you're sleeping because service ends relatively early. Towels are 2 euros. If you stay there, you should sign up for the bar crawl!
Amazing place! Will definitely recommend this place to others. The atmosphere is great, the staff are super helpful and friendly and the deals are great.
This is the BEST hostel where I have stayed in my life and I think that I never couldn't find a better one.
I was there three nights, two in a shared room and another one in a private one. And the experiences were fantastic.
The beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms are clean. The living room is always alive, with people from every countries sharing experiences and advises. The atmosphere is really lovely and open-minded.
The breakfast is quite varied and there is a kitchen open all day with fridge, microwave, … so you can make your own food.
Also, there are luggages to keep your stuffs safely, a games room, computers, Wi-Fi…
Futhermore, It's really close to the center and touristic places. And if you want to go to Guinnes factory or Phoenix park, you have a bus stop near.
But the most important point to me is the STAFF. They are always friendly, helping in all that they can.
I had a problem, I lost my bus (the last one of the day) and they were really kind with me. They were really worry about me and helped me so much.
I won't forget it never, so thank you for make so special that disaster day.
I will come back to Dublin, and without doubts I will stay in that Hostel.
The staff was absolutely wonderful at this hostel and the location was great. My husband and I booked a double, private room and after checking in found out we were sharing a single bathroom with a dorm of 6 males. The website states private rooms are inclusive of single to 4 person rooms, which was very misleading. We paid for a private room and were woken up by their party multiple times throughout the night coming in and out of our suite and blasting music. It would have been way more worth the money to pay less and book in a dorm room because we ended the communal bathrooms anyway… we wouldn't choose to return, unfortunately.
Loved this place! The atmosphere is really nice. Made lots of new friends! Nice kitchen and breakfast. Customer service on point! What ever I asked from the staff, never got disappointed. Even kept my camera in reception and helped me to fix my microphone… Would recommend! Totally worth the price.
It was a very nice hotel. Obviously being a hostel the beds are spartan, but clean, the room was however poorly ventilated. Octal breakfast included and various services offered: kitchen, games room, laundry, sauna etc.
I loved my 6 nights at Isaacs. The staff are awesome, shout out to my friends at reception whom I worked with, I regret not getting your info! The breakfast in the morning is enough to enjoy, with tons of from friends all around. The pub crawl is awesome fun every night, the walking tour is from what I've been told a lot of fun as well. The only word of warning I would issue, is if you can, get a room with 6 or less beds. It gets very hot, and smelly with more haha. That is my only critic, the locker space is awesome and I never had any issues getting into or out of the hostel, as they are open 24/7. Get a room of 6 or less, and its comparable to a 3+ star hotel for 1/6th the price. I highly recommend this hostel!
Great place for a quick stay over, my wife and I booked for one night the first night we landed in Dublin and it was exactly what we needed. Comfortable, secure, friendly and good location. I would definitely stay again if I was on a budgeted trip. They have a 24 hour staff desk and also Internet, Wi-Fi and breakfast in the morning (toast, cereal, juice and coffee)
Heavily soiled sheets, noisy train, lack of cleanliness. Horrible, certainly one of my worst B & B.
Dirty and noisy.
It was my first time at the hostel, I had some concerns, instead I was fine. Boys from all over Europe, warm and welcoming atmosphere, luggage service, shuttle to airport, clean, comfortable common areas with pc available and various outlets, Wi-Fi, TV and an old coal stove really hot together with the ceiling with wooden beams made the impressive place. Both the bathrooms that the public rooms were very clean and the staff spoke multiple languages in addition to English. Helped me a lot to be able to speak to them in Spanish.
Under the train tracks, so a little noisy, but really friendly, knowledgeable staff. Cheap and cheerful.
Nice hostel, very clean and very friendly staff, for 15 euros bed and breakfast and sauna but not get it to see. Besides this in all the Center, beside the large stick all sees it and "temple bar" perfect for going out at night.
Pros: 1) Friendly, helpful, approachable staff 2) Lots of areas to socialize (including a downstairs area with lots of couches) 3) in city centre (which means you are in close walking distance to every pub, grocery store, and general retail store imaginable) 4) Sauna! (Not exactly the warmest country and it was wonderful to have this amenity during the winter) Cons: 1) Poor Wi-Fi (only available downstairs and in the lobby (and with varying quality). It's 2016; people have basic technological expectations. 2) The cleaning staff has no qualms with banging against your bed while cleaning (I stayed two weeks so I am not speaking about an isolated incident).
Great layout and friendly staff. The building itself is laid out very well, with a social area in the entrance lobby at reception, and sofas, a TV, a reading area, book exchange, study area, sauna and a ping pong table downstairs, all very cosy. It's good value for money and there's a kitchen with most things you'd need, although they could do with getting a microwave. The key card system is very annoying — mine stopped working now and then, and I would be locked out of my room or out of the stairwell — but I suppose that means it's good security, even if guests are locked out sometimes as well. Some of the rooms are also very close to the railway line which is noisy at night. Overall an excellent stay though. You can find out about attractions and events from the posters and leaflets at reception, and they arrange pub crawls and walking tours that leave from he hostel.
We are coming to 4, very well received. The hostel is very nice, there are several "lounge" which makes that we can meet. There is also a kitchen if you want to get down to the furnace. No time to get bored and there is even a sauna. It feels safe and it's really very very nice for the price that is more broadly reasonable. And all it not far from the city center. I recommend it to all! :)
Excellent service, there's a kitchen and free breakfast, the atmosphère is really good. But there's no locker in the room.
Institution in Dublin. The dorms are not very comfortable. The hostel offers various tours and pub crawls.
The staff recommend.
Decent quality hostel at an affordable price. Bathrooms are separate and are not ensuite. Free Wi-Fi and light breakfast available at the hostel. Decent amenities, most of which you wouldn't find in a hostel this small. Good location close to the city center, and close to all services, amenities, grocery stores and shops. It is though located underneath a railway line that can get loud sometimes, but it's nothing unbearable, and thankfully the trains don't run during the night.
This hostel was great. The staff was very friendly and we kept discovering more and more things to do inside the hostel — game room, sauna, etc. The only complaint I would have is few plugs in the rooms. — but that's the hostel life for ya. Also, we wanted to sit in the lobby and hang out with two new Irish friends but they wouldn't let them inside with us because they weren't staying there. Besides that, it was a pretty good experience.
Good price performance, friendly reception, very good Internet, Central location, but Rucksackdeutschen crowded, Breakfast is unbalanced and too early/short, cleaning staff unfriendly, no free opportunity to store things.
Nice place, pleasant atmosphere and close to everything you'd want to see in Dublin.
The weekend here was extremely cool, we have several Tours made and all at a good price book here. The rooms were small but clean and also the sanitary facilities were well maintained. Also the location is convenient, because it's not far to the Temple Bar, etc. Not particularly luxurious, but good value for money!
This hotel was comfortable enough and the location is great (underneath a rail line but it didn’t run during sleep hours). The check-in was painfully slow and they didn’t even tell us that we had to keep the little receipts on us to gain access to the place later at night (lucky we had them on us! ). The free breakfast was very good.
Very cheap hostel in Dublin's City Centre. The n. 1 rule here is that you get what you pay for, so do yourselves a favour and do not expect neither luxury nor middle level of accommodation. Here everything is basic: toilets and showers are in a separate common room, bedrooms have only one electric plug and only contain. Beds (nothing else, maybe a mirror) and breakfast is astonishingly poor. Still, for the price you pay you can't pretend anything more. You even have free Wi-Fi, only in the lobby of course. The personnel is friendly and can help you out in your discovery of Dublin and whereabouts. Isaacs Hostel proves being a good choice for a very low budget, excellent for cheap, entertaining holidays with friends. Enjoy, and don't forget your keycard in the pub.
The best hostel I tried in Dublin! Really cool, quiet. Employees are amazing and then location is perfect. One of the cheapest I see.
I absolutely love this hostel! It is crowded, but I never really had any difficulties sleeping. City centre right around the corner, 15minutes to the airport (taxi or shuttle), 5 minutes to bus station or train station (walking). Great atmosphere in the evening, sometimes live music. I love this hostel! It is full, but I've never had trouble sleeping. City Centre is just around the corner, 15 minutes from the Airport (taxi or shuttle), 5 minutes walk to the central bus station or train station. Great atmosphere in the evening, sometimes even with live music (who plays a song may think I stay one night free of charge).
Isaacs Hostel is my new home in Dublin. This place is just crawling with travelers from all over the world! What a great experience to meet in the common areas and converse with people coming and going from every which way. Staff here is super friendly, providing tips and letting you know about all the local attractions. Accommodations are terrific. I stayed in a larger dorm room accommodating 16 people and was very pleased with my experience. The location is not bad, just a short distance away from major attractions. I'll be back.
Best hostel in Dublin! SPA, full breakfast, several common rooms, etc.
I was very satisfied with my stay at Isaacs. The rooms were clean and spacious and, in my opinion, not noisy at all. Sure, you will here people talking and laughing during the night, but with all the great pubs and Temple Bar just around the corner, you can't avoid meeting a few people on their way home from a night out. It was very cheap — the price included a nice breakfast, and if you couldn't afford eating out every night, it was possible to order a meal made at the hostel or bring your own food to cook in the kitchen. There were plenty of entertainment — A joint living room with a TV, table tennis, a sauna and a corner with couches and a coffee table where you were allowed to throw a party if you — like me — were on a school trip and didn't want to disturb the other guests. Outside there was a private backyard were you could enjoy a pint, a smoke or just the nice weather (I stayed there in October and it was sunny every day). All in all a pleasant stay where I met a lot of friendly people, all the tourist attractions are pretty much in walking distance, and the pubs nearby were cheap and incredibly entertaining! I will definitely return to Dublin and Isaacs soon again.
Great Hostel, there is a free Sauna, breakfast is included, we paid a really cheap price. We realized while leaving Dublin, that the bus for the airport stops around the corner (near Talbot St station).
I could think about a few things I did not like about this place but overall my two week stay here was pleasant. I ended up spending on average about 15-18 euros per night and I really made some good friends here. You will meet people from all over Europe here. Germans, French, Danish, Canadians. Cheapest place you can buy a pint of beer as well. The only thing I did not like was the internet. It goes out all the time and at least once per day.

Prior to arriving, we received an email stating that there was an error with our booking and that we would now need to rebook — at nearly twice the price. We rebooked (because we didn't want to be without lodging) and responded to their email asking them to honor our original price. We never received an answer.
Then as Covid-19 started to make travel more dangerous and airlines were stopping flights, we decided to cut our trip down a day. Again, we emailed them before arriving, but got no response. Upon getting to the hostel, the staff at the front was incredibly unhelpful. His only answer to any of our questions: "Email management. " We checked out extremely early (6AM). That night spent in Issacs Hostel was, by far, the most uncomfortable night that we experienced in Ireland at 6 different hostels. The beds were so rickety that every move felt like it would topple the beds — and we are not large people. The environment was unfriendly and not the kind of atmosphere you expect at youth hostels. Not to mention a visit from the police, who had to take an extremely drunk man (who looked homeless) forcibly from the premises. We have now been asking for nearly 3 weeks for even a partial refund for our second (unused) night or honoring our initial booking price. We were as communicative as possible, even before arriving.
Overall, they have no compassion, no understanding and an extremely uncomfortable hostel.
