A great location to stay while in Galway. The front desk lobby is tiny and it’s adjacent the 1520 pub/restaurant. The hostess we met, Erin, had great recommendations for food, shops and off the beaten path. The rest of the staff was professional and chatty. Super friendly and helpful. The style is very modern, unlike most of the art. Some is a little too much for me but it didn’t matter to me and made for interesting conversation. The rooms aren’t large but not small either. It’s an urban area with limited space so I think the size was good. The rooms have an espresso maker, which my husband was pleased with because that’s all he drinks in the morning. It also had a tea station in the closet with mugs which was well stocked with coffee pods, tea, sugar & milk. There were fans and air purifiers in the closet you could use. The blow dryer was in its own cubby. I found that pretty cool because it had its own station with attachments. I would not recommend the hotel to families with young children because it’s loud outside. The halls in the floors are well sound proofed and I never heard the other people staying. However, being summer, the windows are open and the noise of party goers is very happy and loud. Enjoy the craic and the city. It has a lot to offer and it’s all walking distance from The Residence. Overall our stay was pleasant. The pub was great — very friendly bar staff and awesome music. I did have a problem with management (one manager in particular) at the front desk — She argued about everything from the Wi-Fi to the safe in my room not working correctly, and this is not proper guest service. The rooms were nicely appointed.

Got in to Galway around 8 and was worn out from our travels. Check in was easy and the concierge gave great recommendations on places to eat. This hotel is in the heart of a very nice bar district so everything is only a moment away.
