What can I say Matahari resort is the best place to stay in all of tulamben the staff are awesome super friendly and always willing to help make your vacation a total dream… the dive staff is 5star. I will hope to return some day cause that place stole my heart… Suci you should be proud of all the staff, they do a awesome job… and thank you for making my trip to Bali an experience I will never forget…

We came again here… before was in 2012… not much changing, but better in room. We got a deluxe room with Mt Agung view, it's bigger… The service is as usual. Excellent! We enjoy diving, specially Suci Place and Drop Off. The resto is a nice place to relax for lunch and dinner. Sea view and delicious meal… Very much recommended indeed.!

I highly recommend this dive and spa resort. Spacious, secure, clean and comfortable accommodations. Top notch hospitality from the staff. The dive staff are highly knowledgeable of the area, patient with beginners and just made my first diving experiences most memorable. The equipment was in great condition. Free breakfast and bottled water provided. Scooters for rent with proof of international drivers license. Personal car tours available for hire at reception as well.

It's a lovely place in general. Good food, good drinks, diving instructors were awesome. All in reasonable prices. However, beware of the SPA. The ladies are nice, but they don't have any certificates. I was getting a pedicure and I gave heads up that I had the hard nailpolish that needed to be taken down by soaking in acetone. The lady literally ripped it off along with my actual nails. My toe nails are like paper right now, pink and very painful.

We immensely enjoyed our stay here. Free pick up and drop off, the bungalow room was spacious with a nice porch, and our intro to diving was great. Only suggestion is to expand the food menu a bit for those who purchase packages. While the food was good, we would have liked to see more variety of indonesian meals. We would absolutely come back. As an aside: rent a scooter and explore. The area around Tulamben is stunningly beautiful. Thanks Suci & team!

Room was very basic, functional and expected for what you pay but by no means comfortable. We saw 4 huge cockroaches in our room during our one night stay. I know it’s a tropical region but we didn’t have anything nearly like that anywhere else we stayed. We liked the restaurant however (we ordered Indonesian dishes) and the garden was quite lovely.

This is about the daivcenter, about the hotel can only say that it is clean and quite a kill. The restaurant is cooked quickly and is tasty for Bali. But I am very happy with the work of the Daivcenter. Guys well done, all the Hotelkam go to the meeting, the information willingly share. In the Daivcenter everything is ordered, everything works. Free Nitrox that after Phuket is very happy. Thank you!

Nice hotel on the waterfront, all in length with the rooms on one side and the garden on the other! The rooms are very comfortable and clean. Good restaurant by the water on the beach of Tulamben, good Indonesian and European dishes, good breakfast.

Very good ambient, cheap room but very comfortable. One of the best food around tulamben area. the dive center is also very professional, good equipment, good dive guides, they also have house reef, good for macro, they put lots of Balinese statues underwater.

Hotel in the years! If you really want to dive from early to late, it's OK… The facility and service worked unlovingly. No shady retreat facilities in the resort, unloving food. We booked a deluxe room with a view — the view was a wall of 1m away.

The hotel is small and somewhat winding. We stayed in the newer part of the hotel, the rooms were well maintained and clean. Unfortunately we had the bad luck we were evacuated in September 2017 due to the Agung. We would like to express our thanks again to the owner who took care of everything. We were driven to a different hotel at your expense and they organized us a driver the next day so we could get to the ferry. Diving we could unfortunately only one day what we saw we both found beautiful among other things a small shark.

Didn't stay at the hotel but it seemed cozy and the staff was smiling and helpful. If you dive here it's a little rough and expect to do some things on your own. Depending on where you dive you could end up walking on rocks in your rubber sock and with a tank on your back it's quite uncomfortable and unless you're quite strong very difficult. The equipment is okay but a little on the worn down side. One thing I didn't like was walking back from the rocky beach to the hotel in rubber socks. Food at the restaurant was okay and affordable.

The shuttle was not provided to us. The owner of the hotel returned half the amount paid to the taxi driver. The room was very clean and reception. Fans do not advise to sleep, from six o'clock in the morning in walking distance or load cylinders or a broom, and both are very loud and noisy. In relation to the spa is a strange system: a day for two massages do not record, or you will be massaged feet or body, combine these two processes during the day will not work. Regarding diving. There are very few individual places for storage of equipment, so every day search of cargoes if it was not possible to hide them. However, the organization of the process is not bad, except for the road to sites and descent into the water from the shore on the stones. The rest is fine. The staff is attentive and helpful.

Best service! Great diving experiences, really helpful on everything. We took wrong wetsuit, the owner really nice to pick them up on our places (which is so far from Tulamben). Fast response, good food. You have to try Mahi-mahi grill.

For me this hotel is only suits divers. Lack of in-room service. No TV, no water boiler. Good for sleep after long diving.

Rooms and bathrooms could be larger.

Good location, nice hotel. Friendly staff. The rooms are decent deluxe. The rest are very humble.
Internet is bad-often to connect to points is not real. And if it turned out, not the fact that will work. We were saved (I had to work) Internet of a neighboring hotel.
Problems with visiting long-distance dive sites (for example, Manta Point) — you need to search for the minimum number of people on the trip.
Only 3 dive sites for the basic price-the rest with a decent surcharge.
The kitchen is not particularly, although I am not very fussy. Opinion collegial-all of our group. But a little further down the street there is a great restaurant-the cook is good cook. Called "Safety Stop". Prices are average.
Opposite the entrance there is a shop, the owner of Hindu. The prices for beer and other drinks are among the lowest in the county.

To dive a site Exceptional quality/price, good diving especially if you like the macro, at a very good price.

One of the best places to stay and dive where I've been. The chic macro, the great guides, the very friendly resort staff, the sparing prices are the main signs of the Matahari resort. The possibility of free communication with the owner of this resort also bribes. I have been here 4 times already and this is not my last visit to this very interesting place.

Ideal for rest and relaxation in your SPA after a day of excellent diving.
If you like the "muck dive" your dive guides are the best to show you the tiny maritime life.

Just dont buy thier diving package. Every dive only 50 mins or less. The DM is no patience let divers check Nitrox by themself for every tank, every dive. The package includes diving at Amed, but DM just say that there is nothing special. We can't find our diving schedule at the billboard in front of the dive shop, we have to ask what time would be the briefing time for every dive. Only two very very very old and poor books about creature at the dive shop. After a night dive, our DM lost his torch, we confirm that we just take back our own torches and lights, and repeat the confirm. But after the dinner, DM with other 5 staffs just come to our room and ask to check our room to find out if we hide his torch… The hotel service, room and food, is good for the money, but diving, no second time.

This resort is really amazing :) Very friendly staff will great you everytime with big smiles. Food is really good and cheap. And diving? Really good place. We are just beginners with few dives, but we really enjoyed dives here. Thank you Matahari for great time :)

I absolutely loved it here! right on the beach for diving, casual morning swims and access to temple and bush walks. Food is great and staff were really friendly and helpful. Neat and tidy rooms. If you want 5 star luxury and service stay elsewhere, but if you want a more real personalized 'Bali' experience this place is the go, great value for money.

I stayed here for 3 nights and have only good things to say. All staff amazingly friendly and always greeting you with a smile on their face. They had the best instructor (Didi) for diving and would like to sharing you everything you want to know about diving. I stay in Deluxe room. The room were very comfort and clean. There is also a safety box in the room, and it has AC. The Wi-Fi connection was good. Location is great! Near to all dive sites. It is just 3-5 minutes walk to USAT Liberty Ship Wreck dive site, Suci Place dive site and Drop Off dive site just few meters from the dive center. I had an excellent stay, and would absolutely come back again if I return to Tulamben for diving. If you come to Tulamben for diving, this is the best place to stay. Highly recommended!

Everything here was to rest and diving entwined. Beautiful rooms for all tastes and budgets. An excellent restaurant with varied cuisine, swimming pool … and most importantly-DIVING … He did not forget.

Simply chic dive resort! At the moment I am here, arrived at the Matahari 15th time already! It is located in the heart of Tulamben area, all sites of this beautiful place nearby, in the literal sense of the word. Professional guides will show you the Matahari all the beauty of the underwater world, including macro world that can captivate any diver. Especially recommend this place underwater photographers and amateurs videos! The hotel has an excellent restaurant serving a menu for all tastes, good SPA, with all kinds of procedures. And all this at very high prices! If you choose this resort for their holidays, never regret it and will come back here again and again … Yuri Ivanov.

Great price-/performance: Were in the Matahari for a week. Super. Everything fit. Starting from the airport transfer (car with free Wi-Fi). Reception: nice staff. Room superior () was simple but clean and functional.
Restaurant: You can't sit by the sea and enjoy the food any closer. Delicious Thai curries. Highly recommended.
Diving: Perfect. The divemasters very experienced and anxious to show you everything.
Verdict: We'll be back.

Don't be discourage by the number of stars! It is classic among Tulamben accomodations, one of the first ones to spot as you reach the divers retreat of Tulamben. For the price you pay I find it correct, it does the job perfectly although the rooms are spartan, not inviting to spend much time inside. The resort itself is nice, staff welcoming and the upper level of their restaurant has great views with average food.

Sea view has black volcanic stones, percussion sounds very good. Butter juices did a good job. Restaurant flies a lot, can do their regional health is not good. Front Office Manager was rude, unfriendly to the Chinese, Agoda told us the same price at the same time did not inform does not include breakfast, not very reasonable. Our room was good, there was a small balcony, bed was very soft. A total of three different locations. Dry on the second floor of the building in front, behind the village is on the second floor will dry. Swimming pool is very good, very deep, possibly teaching. We spent the afternoon playing, picture is great.

Beautiful place on the beach out of the way of all the tourists and cheap.
